At the end of the day, I doubt OTA's really have a big impact on the field in the fall. And I would say its kind of expected for players to miss OTA's if there is a contract dispute or if they have a life event of some sort. Even though OTA's probably dont matter that much, I think it does matter when a clown like OBJ does not show up. You are part of a team, a new team....get to know your teammates, work with them, have fun with them. His attitude and effort take away from his talent and make just a great receiver. He has the ability to be the best in the game but he chooses to not be that. I am glad he is not on the Bills.

why was my post deleted? They could pick up the 5th year option.....but I agree with you I wouldn't give this clown a lot of guaranteed money. -

He had more sacks in 2018 than he had in the previous 3 seasons. -
Why are the Browns the sexy pick?
Matt_In_NH replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The QB is important. Look at how well Mayfield played last year. Then look at the talent they have added. Maybe it wont work out but its pretty obvious why they are the "sexy pick". Next question. -
I would say playoff changes are more dependent on him growing as an NFL QB/passer and part of that is not lowering his shoulder and taking guys on to get first downs. He needs to use his head and arm to move the chains not his body. If he does that then the chances he stays healthy are good. If he trys to do too much with his legs he will likely get injured.

I was not taking a shot at Beasley or anything, I like the signing. I am just trying to set expectations as far as output goes, not that its my job to set expectations but we wont see huge stats out of him. At the end of the day I don't think he moves the needle on wins and losses but also think that about almost any player that is not a QB. We will see what Beasley's catch % is with the Bills and Allen. In terms additions that will contribute to more wins, I would say its the collective changes on the OLINE that will have the most impact. For me to pick one guy, I personally can't pick one out.

Flacco is not interested in mentoring Drew Lock
Matt_In_NH replied to syhuang's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I heard the comments and had no issue with them, it comes across quite different than the headline when you listen to it. Is he threatened by the rookie in the first round? Yes probably why would he not be. He is a pro who has done a lot in this league and the rookie will have to be quite successful to accomplish what Flacco has. -
Pretty sure no team has been dominated more in the last 20 years then Pats over Bills. Living in NE, I often here about how the Bills "play tough" but for the most part I dont see it unless a cat plays tough with a mouse before it decides to finish it off which is how I have seen the last two decades for the most part.

Probably a nice fit for NE. THey only have 14 picks to trade though so maybe it wont work out.

Didn't they draft an RB in the first round? LOL
-
IMOHe has a lot of room for improvement on short passes in general. Even when a pass is caught that does not make it a good pass. With the short game it’s a lot about ball placement and pace. The rb needs to be led away from defender etc. But be careful the “catchable pass” analysts may attack and scream that there are no accuracy issues.

Gore was signed as much for locker room presence/leadership as for his play. I think the intent is to keep him on the roster especially since they gave him a $500,000 signing bonus. But I guess him not making the final roster is possible but only if his performance is really poor. I see the more likely scenario is the Bills move on from McCoy if everyone is healthy but only because of his contract/cap savings. But a couple of them need to play special teams.....not saying they cant or wont but I don't think Gore, McCoy or Yeldon have done that much.

I now understand why the Bills passed on DK Metcalf
Matt_In_NH replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The reality is he was not valued by NFL people like he was by fans. People wanted the BIlls to take him in the first, it seemed like he was expected by fans and media to go in the first. He actually went at the end of the second. We will never know if the Bills had any interest but the reality is they may have had a low grade on him and did not value him enough to trade up. What is in the media leading up to the draft is not all real...there is a lot of good info but not all of it is good. Lots of discussion on Sirius XM before the draft talked about how his cone drills were awful, he has speed but no quickness.
