NFL Live on ESPN disses Bills D
Matt_In_NH replied to Tatonka68's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whatever, start winning and ESPN will change their ways. The Pats D is very good and when you consider that they score a lot of points, teams try and catch up, their low scoring against is impressive. The Bills D was ""ranked" 2nd in yards against which is the official measure of defense. But they were 18th in scoring. Most agree this is flawed for various reasons. Teams that don't score much tend to give up less yards because the opposition does not have to press. The Pats were 7th in scoring defense and 21st in yards....a very good bend but don't break defense. Both are very good, its not obvious to me which is better so I get the complaint but at the end of the day, winning is what gets respect by ESPN types, the Pats win and the Bills dont and its been that way for a long time. -
is Brown REALLY much better then Jones?

They are very different types of players. They are both WR's but after that they bring different skill sets to the table. -
Any All-Pro Bills this year?
Matt_In_NH replied to Drunken Pygmy Goat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
nah, All Pro is real, pro bowl participation is not, I take issue with that also. Voted in, fine you are a pro bowler. 5 guys ahead bow out and you participate, I dont think you get credit as a pro bowler. -

Good reason to not let your kids play football
Matt_In_NH replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So kids who get concussed but did not grow up to make the NFL dont matter? This is already happening. Teams where I live have a hard time getting kids to play. -
Matt Barkley - taking things more serious?
Matt_In_NH replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never followed him much before he became Bill. Like others, I like what I see but we can't take that much from preseason football. Peterman looks like a franchise QB in preseason football, has have many others. The most encouraging thing I have seen from him was his game against the Jets last year, that was real but also just one game. Not that I want this to happen but I think there is a decent change he gets on the field this year at some point. If that happens we will find out more. -
I would be shocked if it was more than 1, and 0 is possible. They could use a spot or two to churn the guys who get waived though. It is an interesting question because one thing I am certain of is poeple here will be calling for McBeane to b fired over the WR's and RB's that get waived or possibly traded.

I have doubts about Josh Allen......and I hope like hell I am wrong.

Kelly was known to be the biggest A hole ever...to kids adults, anyone who disrupted him. Lots of rumors of domestic abuse, none really confirmed though. Agree on Wilson in the sense he was not a drive the team to win no matter what, it was more business than sport to him. I think the 1990 team lost the SB because they did not prepare well, partying all week......Levy said let them police themselves or whatever, no curfew. Don't really agree on the Thurman/helmet thing. If his story is true, which I believe him, I don't fault him much. He had a habit of putting his helmet in a particular spot during pregame, because it was the SB with lots of other crap happening, someone moved it. You could say he should have recognized that and kept it with him I guess. What do you mean he gave up? During the game or because of the helmet thing?

Bills Leadership Panel of 17 players identified
Matt_In_NH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well if Dimarco makes it, I bet Croom is out. Dimarco does not play much and does not seem very versatile....I figured they would move on from him....use Lee Smith or something for lead blocker. -
Josh Allen studying Tom Brady (SI)
Matt_In_NH replied to Buffalo86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree it is preseason and you cant read too much....but I think that tends to be more true for good play...a la Peterman. When I see the poor decision(s) we also saw lat year it is discouraging. He seems to understand he needs to stop that so that helps. Sometimes he just wizzes the ball past the receivers (and DB's) head when neither are looking.....that needs to become less often. -
punter battle over for now. the bills released carter

Do you guys like the new sky cam?
Matt_In_NH replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When will VR become available? Imagine the ref completely decked out in cameras so you could put on a VR and see anything he does, you could move your head and look over there, down there, hear what the players say to each other. This is possible. -
Buffalo can set a team record this Thursday

The Bills need to keep Duke Williams
Matt_In_NH replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. Only question is durability. I think It will be Williams or foster. Special teams is key for that last spot. For me neither has been that impressive. Duke made some plays against guys who won’t be on rosters in a few days but has had little opportunity with the ones. -

I think Mackenzie is on the team. Very versatile and makes plays in games when given the opportunity -
Agree but I assumed that was because it was preseason and he was happy to move to the second half.

Its a practice game but who cares about the stat sheet. I want to see sound decisions. Official or not that was a terrible play by Allen. -

Beasley was open enough to convert if the ball was where it needed to be. -
I did the same last year and on chat asked them to clarify, they clearly said I got everything for $100 which was wrong. I used that to my advantage and got $60 off for 12 months but mine is not up til Sept so I have to wait to call for another discount.

Receiver competition with two games left
Matt_In_NH replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is how it should work in a perfect world but I dont think most teams do that in reality. I am confident the Pats operate that way. Most teams though marry themselves to their high draft picks and will keep them even when the performance does not dictate that.
