ESPN: Bills have the best defense in football
Matt_In_NH replied to VW82's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hate the patriots as much as anyone but they have given up 3 points in three games. -
You have to consider where the team is right now. Young QB who had some struggles last year, lack of talent at WR and OL addressed during the offseason but overall the makeover is not complete. More talent is always better but I don't think we are lacking in weapons in that the Bills can be a dynamic offense with who they have. What they need more than a weapon is growth at QB. And don't take that to mean I am unhappy with where Allen is, I just view this as a process that will take time and if I had to judge I would say Allen is walking at say 10 months old which is not too bad. He needs to continue to grow and not repeat mistakes. He tries to make too much happen on EVERY play. This team is passing and rushing better than they were last year. Allen is on pace for 4000 yards and rushing from the RB's is much improved. I think Singletary could be special but we have not seen enough yet. The team has figured out how to make the right plays in the forth quarter to win a couple close games, while they have not been consistent through the games, dont underestimate the importance of teams and players performing in the clutch. That is huge! They are not on par with the Patriots yet but no one else is either. This week is great challenge.

Anyone else concerned about Pass Rush?
Matt_In_NH replied to MR8's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not a lot. The defense is pretty darn good and part of their strategy is to bat balls down which they do well. The pats always pose an extra challenge so it’s always fifficult against them. The problem with them is if you slow them down on offense they beat you on defense. It will take a total team effort and maybe a good bounce or two. -
Pats defense has given up three points.

That play was iconic!

Josh Allen - week THREE report card
Matt_In_NH replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is very sloppy with the ball and I think that is just part of who he is. Hopefully with time, these things will occur less and less. He is like the complete Anti-Tyrod. -

Absolutely. This is the nfl and writing in a w is never a sure thing. However we will all be disappointed if they lose this game. -
Mitch Morse - his special bond with his brother

And to think he follows Eric Wood who has a similar story..... -
The guy has been off loaded by three teams while playing a grand total of one game. And he is probably the most talented player at his position. People need to understand there is more than talent. This guy is human garbage and I hope he never plays again and goes broke with lawyer fees.

I don't think there is a legal free way. -
Cody Ford was bad - again & again he was while at RT

So, is he a bust and we should move on? Or we give him this year and all offseason to grow into being a pro....see if he improves and is heading upward? -
Feels like Ramsey to bills an option...
Matt_In_NH replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well they tried to trade for one idiot (AB) so I guess this would be a possibility but he does not seem like a Buffalo Bill type You also just don't just get better by adding "talent". This has been proven over and over. Personalities, off the field issues, attitude, contract are also taken into account among other things -
People always are going to find reasons to complain. I get it they did not go "up and down the field" at will for the entire game, rather only for 4 drives. This offense is so improved from last year, I hope people see that. Josh has taken a big step forward, still room for improvement but he improved during his healing time last year and then from year 1 to year 2, he looks like a different player. Dont worry about beeing full octane all the time, I am ecstatic with the improvements. Specifically his short passing game is much improved, he led Gore on a flare out the way you want him to. Last year he would have fired it right at his torso (catchable) but not good placement. There are what 8 or 9 new starters on the offense, give them time, let them grow, enjoy the win. Yesterday felt like a lot of games back in the early 90's when the Bills were just the better team, not always performing perfectly, dominating at times, coasting at others. That TD drive in the fourth to end the game is something we are not used to. In years past that would have been run run conservative pass punt.

It’s almost like zay had a ball go off his hands for a pick six and the. Dropped a nice pass later that would have gone for a nice gain

Pretty sure it’s a snake just like fantasy football. Jk
