Just to point out some things they are doing well. 1. Run blocking, night and day from last year. 2. Run-pass ratio is much more like an NFL offense....pass first or run first depending on matchup, love it! 3. Mis direction plays that work. 4. Completion % up a lot from last year 5. Pass protection is iffy...sometimes it is good other times it breaks down too quick but it is improved from last year. Some of the sacks are Allen holding the ball too long. 6. WR production is up a lot too. I know there is a lot of calls to add more and more talent is always better but we have decent WR at this point

Did they ever change the wild card home field rule?
Matt_In_NH replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Win your division, get a home playoff game....once in a while it works out so bad team is home...Seahawks (7-9) hosted the Saints (10-6)...Seahawks won. So win the damn division or the only other way to get a home game is if you are #5 and you and #6 make the championship game. -
1. They are missing the "lack of mistakes", in other words stop turning the ball over and taking sacks in FG range. Stop leading the league in false starts. 2. They have not made a lot of plays downfield, the deep ball has been unsuccessful. Allen has improved his short game but the longer passes have been off target. 3. The redzone TD % is high so that is good but what is missing maybe is more redzone visits. 4. Convert on 4th downs...the Bills were bad last year and so far this year only 40% which is low. 5. An RT....hopefully Nseke can get healthy and be more consistent that what we have had so far this year. 6. Throw guys open.... 7. Burn the blitz!

Cody Ford was bad - again & again he was while at RT

That leaves them a little shy at tackle though.......but man do I agree he is bad at tackle....he should not be playing out there right now. -
Every week there are examples of 3:1 or 2:1 for portions of a game....like you are quoting. Week to week gameplans are developed based on the game and opponent. I get it that you did not like the game plan. I liked it not because it was super successful but because they Have a plan and are executing it. In the big picture they want to win superbowls not just make the playoffs. I believe You have to be able to be a pass first team or a run first team based on the matchup. The nfl is no longer a smash mouth run and atop the run type league. It is more strategy based on matchup league. Sometimes you need to smash and sometimes you need finesse. The thought they need to get “more conservative” is not something I could get behind. They need to be aggressive at the right times and work to reduce the errors by the qb. Just my opinion

I disagree. The bills run the ball a high percentage of the time when you compare to the nfl. This offense is a modern nfl offense for the first time in line forever. They need to clean up the mistakes by the qb and they will be pretty good.

Is this the best-timed Bills' bye?
Matt_In_NH replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. I mean I know why you are saying that with some injuries today. But after another 5 weeks they will be banged up again with 6 games to play And no bye. -

The last attempt was like the dumbest thing I have seen a coach do. First of all, the dude missed 3 FG's, second, its 53 yards. Third, even if he makes it you still need a TD to win the game. That knocked the BIlls decision to QB sneak on 4th and 2 the second worse decision of the day. THey said on the postgame the third one was blocked? Blocked because of a good play or blocked cause he kicked it at someone? -
2.25 years of force feeding him as a legit weapon is enough....time to move on.

The decision for the titans to try that 53 yarder might be the dumbest coaching decision I have ever seen. -

The qb turns it over a lot. Turnovers are the great equalizer. -

Two yard qb sneak attempt. Uggg -
No wr is injured and there are 6 other WRs. You expect him to go from PS to first string? He should get decent play time but expectations may be a little out of whack.

Unsupported assertions? The Bill lead the league in turning the ball over, most of that is Allen. Some decisions have been just awful, Bengals INT, taking sacks in FG range, there is plenty of data to support the assertion that Josh Allen has made a lot of bad decisions this year. However, I am not an Allen hater like you are seeming to assume. I do agree he has improved a ton in short and medium accuracy. I know he improved from the beginning to end of last year and improved to start this year, the trajectory needs to continue upward and I am confident it will. But the Bills sit at 8th or 9th in yards, have improved OL and WR. Sure the talent is not top notch and the team should continue to try and improve but I contend with the players they have they can have a very good offense, assuming the QB makes better decisions. That is the most important thing moving forward, much more important than adding Stephon Diggs. The output wont change much with Diggs is my contention, but it will/can if Allen gets better. The most important key to a better offense is more consistent QB play, not other WR's. -

Depending on the outcome of tomorrows game...AJ Green
Matt_In_NH replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is a weird fascination with WR's being the end all. I mean AJ Green is a great talent but he is always injured and on the last year of his deal. We are trying to build for the future, this offense can be successful with the players they have. They are like 8th or 9th in yards....just need to clean up the mistakes and they can be pretty good. This team is building for the long term, not just this year. We have the offseason and draft to potentially add talent at WR. At this point I wish they would sign Duke just so I can stop hearing about it. But then when he gets few looks it will be about that. -
Fitzpatrick was an MVP candidate at one point too early in a season....a couple times

A WR is not a magic pill for a QB who makes bad decisions. -
