How does Josh work on his nerves...?
Matt_In_NH replied to Adamb412's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did he improve from last post season to this post season? I say yes and I would also say I think we can expect him to improve again this off season based on his track record. I don't think he chokes, but I think is issue is still "tries to do too much". So when he gets backed into a corner, he can make mistakes. He improved in that this year but it is still there. Not sure you will ever get it totally out of him. The interception was not the best ball and he took some ridiculous sacks...take those away it's not like the Bills win. He can fight off a tackle but by the time he does others are there, he needs to take a sack. Like others said, the Chiefs bottled up the receivers and gave him few options so he felt like it all fell on him. There probably should have been more check downs or scrambles by Josh...or an actual running game, something had to be there and the Bills did not take advantage of that. I blame game plan over Josh. The Bills did not have a counter punch. -
I hate his demeaner/arrogance. But drafting Love was a ridiculously awful move by a team ready to win a championship now. These great Qb's play into their 40's nowadays, no reason for that move. He is gonna make them suck up to him for a while......but I would be shocked if he went anywhere especially on that team friendly deal.

I am not sure about Edmunds, I have always wondered if he is too big, he is so lanky and does not stop/change directions quickly. Maybe he is not in the ideal position. I think Oliver is a bit of a disapointment at this point, not a bust but not living up to the pre draft hype yet. He had some decent moments this year, just not enough.

Speed, speed and more speed!

The good news is they have lots of cap space to do all this and resign Mongo, D Williams, Milano and give Allen a ginormous extension. They have at least 1.5 million to do those things from what I have seen. But we can watch it...like the Bills did yesterday yesterday, short pass to T Hill and then he runs all over the place with 11 guys watching/chasing him around. -
Frazier a “Serious Candidate” for Texans HC gig.

I think the point is not looking at where guys are drafted but how they actually perform in the nfl. Their nfl performance is much more relevant than draft position. -
I don't remember saying just play man. I am not an NFL coach, but I am certain the game plan yesterday was the correct plan with the Bills talent. Pressure always helps the DB's look better and any the Bills got Mahomes was easily able to side step and minimize the impact. I don't know what the answer is but I believe the Bills defense can play better against that team with the right plan.

Who is the imposter in Brian Daboll's Body?

There was not a lot of creativity in the post season compared to the regular season. THey had a couple jet action runs to convert first downs but nothing to result in big plays, they had a nice statue of liberty thing they set up in the regular season, where was that? All the passes with WR's and whatnot, I expected to see something in the post season. In game adjustments did not appear to be there either compared to the regular season either. Some of it is you are getting better efforts by the opposing teams, but I agree, there seemed to be a lack gameplanning to the Bills advantage in the post season. The OL seems outstanding at pass pro but awful at run blocking. I know guys have different skill sets but I put this more on mentality and tone setting. -
I would say missed opportunites to make a tackle vs actual missed tackles.....they seemed to just prefer to have a foot race with him

The Bills had a bad gameplan more than lack of execution. The plan to play zone and let Kelce be open continuously did not work out well. The Cheifs played man, took advantage of the fact the NFL throws less penalties in the playoffs by being agressive with our WR's. We did not choose to take advantage of that as much.

Just rewatched the game and a few observations

I don't agree with your first three points, not that it matters. But to me the Bills were out coached on both sides of the ball. The gameplans were lacking and any adjustments did not work. The Chiefs scored on every meaningful drive other than the first drive where they had a drop. For me the game was not closer, it was probably worse than the score with the gift TD in the first quarter making it closer. One TD would not have changed much, if the Chiefs needed more points they would have had little trouble getting them. The Chiefs just had a great gameplans vs the receivers and the Bills did not counter it. Allen should have run it more since they were playing man and more passes/checkdowns to the RB's and TE's on schedule may have gotten them out of their scheme. We needed to counter punch but had nothing. On defense, they did a decent job against the run but apparently to do that meant they just did not cover Kelce. On Hill's long RAC play, they could have tried to tackle him near where he caught it but instead they just kind of watched him run. They got little or ineffective pressure on Mahomes, Epenesa ran past him like a fool on one play. Bottom line, the were out played on both sides, a play here or there was not swinging this game. I agree with 4 and 5. The Bills needed to counter what the Chiefs were doing defensively, taking away the WR's. Run and thrw to backs/TE's on schedule would have helped get them out of that. -

Rough game on both sides of the ball. Great season though. Go bills!
