This is a fair point, this was probably a time to just receive and then decide on wind for the second half. That was the play....at least I think it should have been..

Hopefully Feliciano can look more like last years version for the stretch run.

In 1989, who was the GOAT HC? Who is the coach BB is chasing for all time wins? Shula was kind of that guy then and he had his franchise QB. I totally get your point, I dont like the comparisons to those teams though, there is some assumption that to be good you have to mirror the 90's teams.

The Bills played them during the week there was no trouble? What a killer game to lose...........their coach is a complete carnival clown.

Clock error cost the Bills 27 seconds at the end of the game
Matt_In_NH replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
So what, we get a punt and three plays to try to score a td Into that wind? Blame the refs all you want. They had chances and did not get it done. Don’t have a breakdown for a long run, catch the ball. Don’t jump Offside block better tackle better….those are the things that cost them the game. -
If Buffalo loses to TB and then wins against Carolina and the Pats lose to INDY. Then with 3 games left their records will be Bills 8-6 Pats 9-5 The next game would be Bills at Pats, if the Bills win on Dec 26 they would have equal records 9-6. The Bills would have to finish with 2 home games against the Falcons and Jets to win the division since the Bills hold the division tie breaker. Also, if the Bills win out, they win the division. They still today control their own destiny.

Did Sean go too far calling out Mckenzie?
Matt_In_NH replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
He also misplayed the kick against Tenn which was not a fumble. -
I had such high hopes for him after week 2 and all the talk he got in training camp. He has not been very noticeable for most of the year. One thing that will help determine the long term success of this regime is their willingness to move on from a guy regardless of where they drafted them.

What makes a good offense, run first/pass first/balance?
Matt_In_NH replied to Matt_In_NH's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree, be good at what you are trying to do. But I guess I am just saying what you are trying to do cannot be one thing all the time. I tend to agree with you about coaching on the OL, I believe these guys are better than they appear to be. Not sure what your definition of balanced is but I bet the Titans are quite balanced in terms of run pass but at the end of the day what have they accomplished the Bills have not? Brady and his teams were unbalanced, ok I can agree with that. But you can bet your ass they ran the ball when the needed or when they felt the gameplan said that was the best approach. They more than any team are a chameleon and have been for a long time. Many example when with Brady they came out and just smash mouthed it. That is particularly true in their super bowl winning years. 448 years in the playoffs last year........ -
I have been listening to a lot of the local media and reading content on this forum. There seems to be a lot of people who think the Bills should just pass the ball as much as possible....even in last nights game, pass pass pass. I have listened and thought about it, I do understand where that is coming from but I have a different opinion....I think to be the best offense you should have the goal to be top tier at running and top tier at passing. In any one game the mix can vary but you should have both tools in your toolbox. Why? Opponent, conditions, game flow may dictate different approaches. I believe you can be mostly pass first but there are times you will have to be run first and you should/need to be able to do that. For those that say the Bills are good at passing so that is all they should do, go back and watch the Steelers game, the Jags game and you will see a pass first team that is not able to be successful because the defense is playing you as a pass first team. Those are situations it would have been nice to be able to pound it some and get them out of their pass defense gameplan. NFL is move/counter move. Against many opponents you may be able to do your bread and butter but what good is it if you cannot adjust when you play a team that is making that hard on you? Having said all that, its hard to see this roster being able to run first much at all so we appear to be stuck with what we have for the rest of the year and they should game plan knowing what they can and cannot do. But I believe a reasonable diet of runs needs to still be part of it. Defenses literally try and make a team one dimensional by design, dont just give that to them. My 2 cents....

If NE loses to the Colts, its game on Dec 26.....regardless of if the Bills win or lose vs the Bucs.

MYTH Busted: "The Defense couldn't stop the Run"
Matt_In_NH replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
The long runs against Tenn and NE were soul crushers....I honestly believe those two plays lost those respective games.... -
He was noticeable on a number of plays. Not sure about the longer runs if he missed assignments or anything.

Similarities between 1988-1989 seasons and 2020-2021 seasons

So 4 straight SB losses after this year? Cant wait. -
Time to Question the toughness of this team?
Matt_In_NH replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
I get that. Are you saying the Bills lost becuase of a false start (that was a false start)? THey had three penalties all night, they were not awful. Do you think the refs screwed the Bills last night? -
OK, armchair analysts: How do we fix this offense?
Matt_In_NH replied to Just in Atlanta's topic in The Stadium Wall
Howard and Jeremy were all over this in the AM show. My counter point is look at the Pitt and Jacksonville game where they were pass first and unsuccessful because the defense found a way to defend the only pass offense. My opinion is you need to be capable of both to be a great offense or you will be limited. Then again, the current personnel don't seem capable of running consistently. I do think you need something there. -
He's a total downer.......I am ok with "reality" but he is way overboard in a negative way, always has been. Its like CNN or Foxnews...they talk about the same topics but slant them the way they want. He is overly pessimistic.

Over under for bucs passing attempts is 3.5?

This is one of those things you should have slept on before posting. We are all frustrated but it would be incredibly dumb to throw I. The towel. The season is not even over.

This is what the media says. Not sure I totally agree. But the philosophy should be to build a team others cannot beat not pick the good team last year and build to beat them. -

Patriots 6 penalties. Bills 3. The delay of game was bs as was a 15 yarder on the pats to convert a 4th down for the bills. False starts are mental mistakes.
