I went tot he game the next week in Green Bay and it was atrocious sitting in the stands. Allen had zero time and could not hit the broad side of a barn that day. He was inconsistent that year to say the least and his team was terrible.

While the Steelers were relevant last year, everyone knew they were not going anywhere and noodle arm Ben was done. After a long run with Ben and SB aspirations year in and year out, it is not surprising there was a fall off in attention. Buffalo has experienced this also, the "Greatest comeback" playoff game was not even a sellout and not on local TV. 8000 tickets for 8 games assuming a ticket of $100 is 6.4 million. So paying a QB 50 million to make back 6.4 does not exactly make sense financially. It does make them competitive for a SB, that would be the point. Plus a lot of those tickets were sold but were no shows. And yeah each person might have bought an expensive hot dog and a couple beers too.

Don't defend a hail mary and sidelines with 13 seconds left when the opponent just wants a FG attempt and they have timeouts. Seriously, if they had handled that situation differently we could be discussing a repeat. You can always improve but McDermott is not some idiot who uses the same gamplan every game like this appears to say. You reference the Pats as being someone that adapts and is versatile. How did that defense adapt in the wild card playoff game? The expectation of dominating every opponent is not something that is achievable in today's game. Not even the great Patriots can or have done that.

I don't think you are stuck with it but the dead cap hit makes it tough, he has value, maybe not at his cap hit but cutting him creates a hole and you still have the dead cap. I think he stays.

Get Christian McCaffery to be our #1... slot WR...???
Matt_In_NH replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
High risk/high reward. We don't need a guy who lives on IR at a very high salary. This year is reasonable then his contract kind of balloons up. I dont think this is the right play. -
Sounds good as a throwback, the white helmet is more appealing to me though and should be the main design moving forward.

Taiwan Jones on About The Game Pod (Squib related)
Matt_In_NH replied to essential's topic in The Stadium Wall
If true, this has got to one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. Especially for an organization that is quite good at attention to details, it does not seem possible. But the ST coach is now gone too which might also be telling. -
Derek Carr in line for $40 million per year extension
Matt_In_NH replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, that is why the Bills pushed for it....they took the risk of "one year wonder", maybe things change when fans are in the stands, etc. Remember those thoughts/ideas? It was a good deal for both sides. Also, that is the way contracts go, you max out when its your turn, but while the cap is going up next years guys get more. Josh will get another at bat... -
Caesars Sportsbook 2022 NFL MVP Odds: Josh at 9-1
Matt_In_NH replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen would not have won MVP if Rodgers did not exist this year, last year, maybe. Another QB would have won it if not for Rodgers. Rodgers low turnover numbers are outstanding and that is the area Josh can improve most to take the MVP. • Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers – 39 votes. • Tampa Bay QB Tom Brady – 10 votes. • L.A. Rams WR Cooper Kupp – 1 vote. -
LA market not in top 10 for SB TV ratings

There are a lot of immigrants/foreigners that have no interest in the SB, not surprising at all. -
The volume of activity on this forum answers the question.

What is Mckenzie doing with his right hand? Hope to see him back, seems doubtful though. -
Rams Team Building Strategy Will It Be Duplicated or a Rareity
Matt_In_NH replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not going to pretend to be an expert but shrewd moves pretty much always equates to trading future cap space for current period cap space or guaranteeing money on contracts in future years making it harder to move on from players. I have heard it said "The cap does not forget and the cap does not forgive". The Saints current situation is proof of that. Probably contributed to why Payton left too. -

This is simply not true. Have you heard the term "cap casualty", its not a myth. The Saints have had to let good talent go several times over the years, as have all teams. Last year they were in a terrible position, made a bunch of moves, lots of releases and restructures. And now they are in the same position again this year. They were not able to "sign all their guys". For instance during their run, they had to let their All Pro Guard and TE go in one offseason as one example, moves they would have liked to not have had to do. https://www.nola.com/sports/saints/article_7144f39e-8671-11eb-b0ae-4788896c6439.html#:~:text=The first move the Saints, was to restructure Brees' deal.&text=Brees' cap hit was originally, veteran minimum of %241.075 million. -

I assume you are referring to the cap, there are some here who think it means nothing. -
Rams Team Building Strategy Will It Be Duplicated or a Rareity

What would the take be in the Bengals held on and won the game. You should draft and sign mostly lower priced FA's and rarely trade your pics? In short, the Rams went for it and it worked out for them. But it did not have to. Generally teams that have signed/traded for superstars have not had SB success. I dont think there will be a huge movement towards this approach. However, with younger coaches and GM's I think we will see more player movement than in the past. I dont expect the Bills to take this approach on scale the Rams did which I know will be disappointing to many. I think the Bills need to be careful to not give too many moderate contracts to average-ish players. -
This is a very telling comment

What halftime show can you NOT say that about? This was old school, LOL. Who do you want, 70's rock bands or 80's hair bands? those were 40-50 years ago

Colts to either trade or cut Carson Wentz
Matt_In_NH replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe, not so sure about that though. 6.9YPA, 27TD, 7 INT.....someone may want him. His contract makes it tough though. He played terrible in Jacksonville which is what everyone remembers.
