I dont want to watch an opposing WR running into the endzone with Gilmore chasing him, to turn around with his arms up ever again. At least not in a Bills uniform.........

Old enough to remember those days

An Idea for a potential Bills draft trade down with Atlanta!
Matt_In_NH replied to JaCrispy's topic in The Stadium Wall
This seems so random, the Falcons would have to want 25, there would have to be "their guy" there when it gets to 25. Sure your points balance out good but both sides have to want it. ANd why Moss thrown in randomly? -
Are you for real?

Video: Von Miller Behind the Scenes of Free Agency
Matt_In_NH replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
That was interesting...you only see what is in the video buy my impression is that Von was solely focused on year and total contract value.....6 years 120 million for an average of $20 million per year. He totally reacted to that...but its not real. The last year is 30 million salary at age 39 with $0 dead cap. He will never get all of that and I am surprised he was more focused on that than the guaranteed part and the structure. We never saw other offers but I thought his agent did not do a good job of explaining the contract to him in the video. I say in the video because there were probably other conversations we did not see. But if I was him, I would want to know about what is guaranteed and when. -
You can’t tell Jack from this picture.

He is not on the roster
-
His punt returning skills are not that great and the staff went with Hyde and Mckenzie after he had his chance. Yes he has speed, but got stood up in a vulnerable position a lot. He showed nothing as a WR and was a 5th round pick in a weak draft. Not gonna write him off but also not gonna call him a "breakout star".

It is like 20 years old, its not dated. By the time the build a new one, 1.5B will sound like what 200M sounds like today. And all things being equal, the team will pay for it. Most states/governments are getting away from building these stadiums.
-
Fundamentally the issue comes down to what governments should and should not do with tax money. People fall on different sides of the fence on those issues. What you said is true, the budget is enormous and this is a drop in the bucket. The problem (some will say) is the bucket is way bigger than it should be because all these little things add up to a huge numbers is why NY State has huge taxes, county taxes etc. Once you have a sales tax you can increase it by a small amount and fund new things...over time you get to the bloated condition NY State is in. This is a case study in the "slippery slope". I live in New Hampshire, we have no income tax, no sales tax and something like funding for a stadium would be a non starter period, no chance, we are a minimalist government yet people still find things to complain about.

A flawed social media meme, no way!!!!

If true we will likely see a vet CB before the draft...

Off Topic guess Lamar’s new contract
Matt_In_NH replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not saying this would happen but what if Josh pulled a Watson and wanted out? That is how this whole thing started. -
Beasley had three broken ribs last season?
Matt_In_NH replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall
I remember his ribs being an issue for a bunch of weeks....they never said but you could tell he was in pain. -

Peace sign five yards before he passes Milano...that was kind of awesome. -
Off Topic guess Lamar’s new contract
Matt_In_NH replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
We can see where these contracts are going, I think it sucks. But I also think the Watson thing is a one off. He had full leverage over the Browns, he did not want them but they were desperate for him. Cousins has also gotten fully guaranteed contracts but that did not result in all QB's getting that. -
I have seen this before, don't expect "your team" to be cheap, that is 99% of the reason anyone would subscribe, that is the golden goose.

It’s not near 50 and even though I have not been there since the renovation. I have to agree. I saw a game there and it was brutal in that sun
-
People here are mad it’s not downtown and does not have a roof.
-
Is this more “disrespect” for Buffalo? We are getting picked on?
-
In general I agree with you but what if it is windy in a certain direction? I think you take it because you then also take control of the clock. Actually that brings up a question, lets say team A gets the ball and uses all of the clock except 13 seconds. The other team gets a possession but do they only have 13 seconds or do they get however long their possession takes?

So they are discontinuing Hard Knox?

Jarvis Landry wants $20 million a year
Matt_In_NH replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Contracts go up over time, we know that. It feels like the wrs this off-season have gone up percentage wise way higher than other positions. Their success is highly dependent on a quality QB throwing them the ball. Landry is. It special talent wise. Then again neither is Kirk yet he got what Landry is asking for. -
Drew Rosenhaus says there’s more bombshell trades coming.
Matt_In_NH replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Is baker mayfield to the dolphins a “bombshell”? As others have said. You have to consider the contract and the player not just the player. If someone is desperate to get him then they might be willing to take it. Not clear that is the case. -
Jarvis Landry wants $20 million a year
Matt_In_NH replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
The WR numbers are ridiculous but you have to look at the contract details, the numbers are not real in all cases. The Tyreek Hill contract is weird at 30M/year sticker but the last year is like 44 million salary (the whole things is 120M, so more than 1/3!) with a relatively small dead cap. Basically it made the agent look good with the 30mil/year thing and guarantees he wont be franchised, no way he plays that out.
