I have heard in wGR that you are more likely to be hurt in the pocket than running the ball. However more hits is more risk. Singletary was killing it. Why did they stop? A lot of Allen’s called runs don’t gain much yardage. And he fights for a yard bear and there. Even a twisted ankle he maybe can play on will limit what he can do in the pocket. I am good with an occasional run and some scrambling but he should not lead the team in carries.

These decisions are not easy. Most fans always want more wrs more rbs. I trust McDermott and I am sure he will get his shot. When he does he willl mostly return punts when that happens.

The run read option thing where he keeps the ball almost everytime and gains 1-3 yards has to go. The one play a guy had his leg and was just lifting him up and he was in an awkward position...multiple times he was in an awkward position for very little gain. It needs to stop. Designed runs when up multiple scores in the 4th quarter has to go. I expected to see quicker passes and less running with Dorsey, the quicker passes worked great but its just a matter of time before he stays down and much of it is unnecessary. McDermott seems to want it to stop also.

eye brows raised a little since he did not start over Benford but not concerned. Guys take time to develop and do so at different rates/times. That really shows Benford outplayed him all preseason, they would have defaulted to the first round pick if it was close. For me it comes down to is it Benford is shockingly good or Elam shockingly bad. Based on the on field play of both, they have not been terrible so I think Bedford has just way outperformed his draft position.
