I have the Bills 53 man roster right here
Matt_In_NH replied to Matt_In_NH's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you are arguing for 9 vs 10, fine....I will not argue much....cut Boettger or whoever. In terms of injuries, that can vary by year and team. Just looking at the BIll's season last year is not enough data. I admit this is the one position I went off the reservation mostly to just mix it up.......if I was putting money down, Morris would be the guy. -

They dress 8 OL every game and typically one or two are scratched. 10 OL is absolutely in line with how the roster looks. Trade him........what has he done. A second round pick who gets scratched a lot..... -

I think I agree with you. My reason for cutting him is I am not sure he would get grabbed by anyone and they could call him up if they need him for a particular game. I think special teams and the things he does on offense when needed probably gains him a spot on the 53. Going through the exercise is hard, someone you dont want/think should be cut needs to be. THis is the thought every year....the reality is every team has their own tough decisions. I am sure a couple of them would get snatched up. and I am sure Beane will try to deal some. But anyone who signs a guy is putting them on their 53 which means they are cutting an extra body. 5 DE's with Von Miller and I dont think 6 LB's is out of line much with previous years. Matekavich is a special teams guy who they put "LB" next to. The other backups will be key teams players also. -

The guys on the bottom are PS candidates, I was not trying to predict the PS as much...I was noting guys I think the team likes or "tough cuts" as guys who could be PS. I am sure you are right....Morris is the likely pick.....I was just trying to mix it up some. -
Here is how I see the 53....actually 54 with Miller on PUP. I think the Bills will trade one or two guys. Based on reports I considered Shavers over Shorter but Beane likes his draft picks under 4 year contracts. Updates prior to Preseason game 1 Morris in, Sterberger out. Gilliam in Boettger out Basham in, no one out. Explanation. Every year the Bills set a 53 and waive someone (like Reid Ferguson) that they then sign back the next day after they put someone on IR. I am predicting they do that with someone below. So with miller, that makes 55 total guys which is what they did last year to start the season. Updates prior Preseason Game 2 Brandon Shell out, Ryan Van DeMark in - Shell retired Bubble guys: Kyle Allen, Justin Shorter, David Quessenbury, Baylon Spector, Cam Lewis Updates prior Preseason Game 3 Pushing for a spot: Cam Cline, Kingsley Jonathan, Andy Isabella Bubble guys: Baylon Spector, Cam Lewis, Shaq Lawson, Damien Harris, Khalil Shakir Trade candidates: Epenesa, Basham, other DE's if a team is willing to pay something. Shakir. I think Beane will be exploring anything if someone is will to provide a pick or possbly a backup tackle. Updates prior Final Cuts Klein in, Spector out..he could be season IR or a roster gymnastics guy to get him to in season IR. Want to find a way to keep Isabella....maybe over Lawson....I think they will weigth chances of guys getting poached, needs etc. I can see them keeping 7 WR's but putting Shakir on IR QB 2 Allen, Allen RB 4 Cook, Harris, Murray, Gilliam TE 3 Knox, Kincaid, Sternberger Morris WR 6 Diggs, Davis, Harty, Shakir, Sherfield, Shorter OT 4 Dawkins, Brown, Quessenbury, Shell Van DeMark OG 3 Torrence, McGovern, Edwards, Boettger C 2 Morse, Bates DT 5 Jones, Ford, Oliver, Phillips, Settle DE 5. Epenesa, Floyd, Lawson, Rousseau, Basham LB 6 Bernard, Milano, D Williams, Spector, Dodson, Matekavich, Klein CB 7 Elam, Jackson, T Johnson, Neal, White, Benford, Lewis S 4 Poyer, Hyde, Rapp, Hamlin K 1 Bass H 1 Ferguson P 1 Martin PUP Miller Lets refine this. If you are game, you can make one change to the above list. Copy, paste edit your guy, cross out the guy I kept and put in your guy bolded. Then someone can make a further edit. Each person can make one edit and anyone added (bolded) cannot be removed. Here are the key guys I have as not making it and prime candidates for the PS. QB 1 Barkley (Emergency QB) RB 1 Evans TE 1 Sternberger WR 2 Isabella, Shavers OT 2 Anderson, Doyle OG 3 Mancz, Broeker, Boettger C 0 DT 1 Ankou DE 2 Jonathan, Ray, LB 1 Klein CB 2 Austin, Ingram S 1 Marlowe

What team has the best NFL message board in the world?

We agree to disagree on that one.

And absolutely no argument from me, all those guys deserve it.

Finheaven also has a ton of traffic. Those guys hate the Bills as much as we hate them. I am probably biased but they seem to be more emotional/upset by any little thing and get offended by nothing more than this group. I remember going there when the BIlls were headed there in the playoffs for the div round two years ago...one comment was "lets rape them til the room stinks". -
Hurts Burrow and Mahomes ahead of him. Losing I then divisional round hurts him. Hurts at three seems odd to me.

Zero Bills Preseason Games on National TV
Matt_In_NH replied to Mark Vader's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean I get what you are saying but I don't think what you said is true. The Bills are all over national TV this year including 3 4 PM national windows on top of a max primetime schedule. I have never seen them on this much national slots in 28 years living out of the region. -

I agree he would be a potential cut candidate. -

The bills need to free up cap space for 53 plus practice squad plus in season moves. I was looking over spotrac and other than redoing contracts I was looking at who they can cut to save money. The top guy is Morse and with Torrence at guard I wonder if they would go with Bates at center. If they spread out cap casualties over two years they are more candidates. I am not saying I think this will happen but if it did I would understand why. The Bills have a a lot of depth at DL, OL and CB. I think you could see some trades. I have seen almost nothing out of Basham....a sign of a good GM is one who is willing to let go of a high draft pick when it becomes clear it was just did not work out. Lawson was starting last year, are you really keeping Basham over him because he is young and signed for one additional year? At DT, I was thinking Phillips might start on PUP but that is not happening....I think he is on the bubble right now because of the numbers. I don't like Settle but his contract blows.... -
I would not get too excited about something Chris brown says. OP is taking CB’s opinion as something the staff is doing. Best man wins period who cares where he was drafted. I think that will be Elam in the end and they are just not handing it to him. Comparing this to teller is silly at best. Every GM and coach has made moves that tune out different than they expected. Continually pointing to one move out of hundreds/thiousands as proof of anything is not helpful. Look at the body of work.
-
No there is actually a deficit. The bills will have to actually fund 53 guys not too 51 plus the 16 guys on the practice squad plus in season buffer for injuries. They probably KT need to free up cash just for that not but more tackles. Yes the whole thing is just accounting which is why the bills signed Dalvin cook deandre Hopkins and will trade for an expensive all pro tackle next week.

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)

Once done will they put a dome on it and move it downtown by barge? -
I agree with everything except one thing. Davis dropped a pass in the endZone that would have put the bills up in Miami with less than two minutes left
-
At the initial presser after he was drafted Beane said strictly WLB then a day later they changed it to both. I think the options at LB were not what the BIlls wanted but took someone they saw some potential in.

Outside of MLB, Where are the Bills Worse in 2023?
Matt_In_NH replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think if Crowder had stayed healthy you can have a point but the reality is the guy did not play. Sherfield is an upgrade over Kumerow. Harty is more talented than mckenzie but the major concern with him is health. He has struggled to stay available. I think you have a pint with RB. But I do like Harris over Singletary by a smidge. He brings a little more physicality. But the difference is this year the reigns will be handed over to cook and if he continues an upward trajectory RB may be stronger. -
Nice job by Josh, the writing though........must have been done by the scabs

True but the random internet guy is rarely correct...it happens just do to random events.......statistically someone wins the billion dollars in Powerball...not saying it can't happen.

All-Pro DT Chris Jones not at Chiefs Mandatory Minicamp
Matt_In_NH replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
which is why Deandre Hopkins is a Bill. Manipulation and "there is no cap" are not the same thing. It does not matter how much money an owner has, there are limits. -

"we" as in the Bills? How did this conversation get to that point? Anyway, there are many here who think there is no salary cap. -
Matt Araiza is Suing Woman who Falsely Accused him
Matt_In_NH replied to wppete's topic in Off the Wall
Not really......maybe its just no one knows. If anyone has Netflix, watch a documentary called Victim/Suspect....it will shed light on what happens in these situations. A lot of times when the accuser ends up being charged it is likely situations when they were in fact victimized but they dont know the details......it's quite sad.
