Silly preseason thread…nickname for the Bills’ offense?
Matt_In_NH replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Based on some fans..."OLINE SHMOLINE" -
This is exactly my point of making the thread....the Bills have some knobs to turn but not as many as years past and ones you may not want to turn.

Are the Dolphins obviously better than the Bills?
Matt_In_NH replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
The bills have 17 -
A Milano trade? That is definitely part of it....there are not a lot of target in the top 51 that result in big savings though....it gets better if you spread it over two years but that just makes next year a little worse
-
They need space this year. Something has to happen
-
A restructure would just move money from this year to next year and maybe one more if they do they void year thing. You can’t just make it an easy cut the guy has an agent and they know that game and he has certain guarantees already. If you want something from the player they want a committment. Yeah I noticed that too. At some point you have to get younger and cheaper. I think this should happen. It will be easy if they win the Super Bowl. Otherwise this place will be all chicken littles.

I agree....however they have to agree on a contract.....look at what DT's are getting. If they cant get to a reasonable number you may be stuck dealing with Tre or Dawkins which most in this thread don't like. I agree with them, I would not want to extend either right now.
-
At this point they need to generate space for guys they currently have. No team has zero holes.

The Bills have somewhere around 2.2M in cap space at this time with top 51. After next week they need 53 plus IR guys, plus practice squad. They also need 5-6M for in season moves. There is room for some movement when they cut to 53 depending on who they cut but more than likely they will need to restructure or extend someone with decent base salary. The top options are Dawkins (8.8M), Tre (8.6M), D Jones (6.75M), Morse, (6.64M) Taron Johnson (5.5M). I bet they extend Dawkins but I would rather keep Jones and T Johnson longer, any other thoughts? https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/

We had a one year hiatus of the "Im butt hurt by some national media because they don't love the Bills like I do", now its back forever.

Will Bruce Smith’s sack record ever be broken?
Matt_In_NH replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
I will say yes.....sports science and rules to reduce injuries of passing.....the NFL sack leader is often around 20 sacks for the year which is higher than it was 30 years ago. Quarterbacks are better about getting rid of the ball than in Bruce's time. I love Bruce, he was my favorite but he is not the leader in sacks/year, he is the career leader. Similar to Brady being the passing leader, he just played more years than some other guys. -
Lets blow thing thing out of proportion with a new thread, same overaction

When did Steve Tasker become such a homer?
Matt_In_NH replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall
Both can be true at the same time. The preseason games matter but not for the reasons most fans are thinking. They are really there to prepare for the season, it is practice. -
When did Steve Tasker become such a homer?
Matt_In_NH replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall
He is much more level headed and pragmatic than the typical fan who flys off the handle over every little thing. -
I bet I know what the "A" stands for

Josh Allen is the best weapon in the NFL and he’s not protected.
Matt_In_NH replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
People overblow the OL thing by a mile…. actually many miles. Keep in mind josh Allen holds the ball longer than every qb in the league. He is one of the toughest qbs to block for because he ends up running anywhere. There are two new starters this year at G and while I agree the tackles are inconsistent it is not nearly as bad as people say. The Steelers have some of the best edge guys around. Chill -
The best 53-man roster projection
Matt_In_NH replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't see them keeping 7 WR's while also adding Kincaid (a receiving TE) -
Nice fight in the crowd at the Broncos - 49ers game.
Matt_In_NH replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
People are such idiots not sure who started it but Jerry Rice finished it -
Other than a drop on 3rd and 5 I don't see any reason this guy has not performed. I don't remember a lot of drops last year, I think he has 20 targets and 10 receptions.....that is not a good rate but also not an adequate sample size. I do remember a couple nice over the middle hands catches in traffic. I agree I have seem nothing that says special. If you waive him, someone will claim him. It is a numbers game, I would think beans is exploring trades as we speak.

I wonder if games will get called due to these types of injuries moving forward. In the past what happened in the pats game would not have stopped the game even in preseason. I am not complaining just saying this might be a shift we see more of.

O’Cyrus Torrence Dominating (video breakdown)
Matt_In_NH replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good details in the video with communication with Brown and helping with Watt on the spin move. I find the video frustrating to watch/ listen to because he is overly verbose and the constant and unnecessary playback/paus/long pauses. -
Bills Signing OL Garrett McGhin (who)
Matt_In_NH replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
No they need a body to take snaps this week and in the game Saturday. -
Thanks for making my point.
