I think it likely has been building for years. Two years ago sneaky Joe was so sophisticated in his deep football knowledge he thought you just have to score 50 points as the only way to beat the chiefs. He literally coined the phrase defense shmefense when talking about where to use capital. Just get as many WRs as you can. Just like fantasy football like beane referenced. This was not just a yesterday Thing.

Is there an NFL team with a weaker WR group than the Bills?

I love Mack hollins…. Love him! But his yards per route run or overall production for his play time was not much. He s with the enthusiasm other receivers run routes. Cooper has a couple moments like you saw said. We need Kincaid and Coleman to take steps -
Flying to LA and I am loving listening to these guys try to clean this up. They come back from a commercial and they replay it and bleep the word B word when they just let it go over and over in real time. They are trying to defend themselves and look silly. It’s not that more we talent would not help. It is 50% of what these guys talk about …it’s the obsession.

White and sneaky joe have to get better and bring more to the table. They really act like it is fantasy football and it shows as very ignorant.

Frankly the narrative about wrs is idiotic and I am glad beane unloaded on those guys.

Preach beane! Preach! Love watching their faces during that. there is a strange obsession with wide receivers. People absolutely think that’s how you build a team and it is completely wrong. surprised white didn’t have a toy choo choo.

Probably because the offense is at the top of the league and most of the players are coming back and the defense had a terrible year? It is not like they always focus on defense and not offense. They have built a really outstanding OL, running game, they have two good TE's and maybe adequate WR's. Not going to argue they cannot improve talent at WR but talent is/was lacking much more severerly elsewhere. The previous two seasons they used their top pick on a pass Catcher. They have signed FA's too. They also used like 3 picks to get Diggs in 2020 and essentially a 3rd this year so they could have Cooper last year. They dont ignore offense, not sure how that is perceived. -

Nah lets restart. So you think Shenault will get the playing time Hollins got? That would be malpractice but the good news is it wont happen. -
Maybe, I am not a Hamlin fan, I think he is all floor and no ceiling. But Rapp is decent and Bishop has good upside. The guy they signed from Washington could be sneaky good signing. Not the strongest position....

You are correct, a total of ~7 points more over a season or .43 points a game. Splittiing shorties... -

What did Hollins and cooper produce in Buffalo? What was the bills offensive rank? Did the offense score the most points per game in franchise history last year?- 394 replies

Bills 5th Round Pick (#1) : Jordan Hancock - CB - The Ohio State
Matt_In_NH replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah this is not good for Lewis. -
The defense will be very different from last year. On paper looks like a better roster.
-
A vet is very possible. He was beat out by Hollins down the stretch. He does not block well, not sure if he is not interested in it.
-
10 or 11 guys typically make the 53. You only have 10 right now for the first 6 weeks, some kind of injury could happen, seems totally fine and I like the mix of vets and rookies they are bringing in.
-
Hard to see these last few picks sticking, not saying it cannot happen but they will have to beat out proven talent. Wonder if Beane tried moving out but no takers.....
-
This gets asked all the time, the answer is always the same, Tre does NOT project at all as a safety. He does not do the "safety things" (physicality, tacking) well as a CB, absolutely not happening. Jordan Hancock does project at safety or slot corner. The Bills also have a full roster of safeties who are likely to make the 53.
