Sixteen candles make a lovely light But not as bright as your eyes tonight (as your eyes tonight) (Oh) Blow out the candles, make your wish come true For I'll be wishing that you love me, too (that you love me, too)

But your thoughts will soon be wandering, the way they always do When you're riding sixteen hours and there's nothing there to do And you don't feel much like riding, you just wish the trip was through Here I am, on a road again There I am, on the stage Here I go, playing star again There I go, turn the page

I'm a-walkin' in the rain Tears are fallin' and I feel the pain Wishin' you were here by me To end this misery And I wonder I wah-wah-wah-wah-wonder Why Why, why, why, why, why she ran away And I wonder A-where she will stay-ay My little runaway

Your lights are on, but you're not home Your mind is not your own Your heart sweats, your body shakes Another kiss is what it takes

Me personally I TRY to be prompt if it is a dinner invitation. For a party though I go by the hours listed. If the hosts say 12pm-6pm for an afternoon event a few will be on time but most people will trickle in most by 2pm. Its an open house style party. If it scheduled in the evening I think I tend to be closer to on time to arrive. Leave is up to choice I am fine with either. The issue I have had recently is folks are having such a good time you practically have to kick them out. Subtle hints don't work. 2 hours is a nice event. 3 hours is pushing and 4 hours after arrival its time to call em an Uber. Unless they can walk home. Too much fun is a thing LOL m

The screen door slams, Mary's dress waves Like a vision, she dances across the porch as the radio plays Roy Orbison singing for the lonely Hey, that's me, and I want you only Don't turn me home again I just can't face myself alone again Don't run back inside Darling, you know just what I'm here for So you're scared, and you're thinking That maybe we ain't that young anymore Show a little faith, there's magic in the night You ain't a beauty, but, hey, you're alright Oh, and that's alright with me @-}---}}----------------

You pull into a drive-in And find a place to park You hop into the backseat Where you know it's nice and dark You're just about to move-in Thinking it's a breeze There's a light in your eye And then a guy says Out of the car, long hair Louie, you're coming with me The local police And it's all because Your mama don't dance And your daddy don't rock and roll

@DrW I saw Talking Heads *** live just once EDIT was a side project called Tom Tom Club with Tina and her husband Chris Franz NOT talking Heads***** Tom Tom Club Concert Setlist at San Diego Street Scene 1992 on September 12, 1992 | setlist.fm What a GREAT show, and a very interesting experience. In San Diego they held "Street Scene" music festivals and invite artists from many genres to perform in multiple stages and locations downtown. Im going to google for the exact date and post the link. Its funny the stuff u remember from shows sometimes. My distinct memory from the Tom tom club show was Tina Weymouth wearing a pair of levi button up 501 jeans that were easily 10 sizes too big for her small body. The way she shimmied around the pants settled at the widest part of her hips..she played that visual to the hilt...I kept thinking GF those pants are going to end up around yer ankles LOL Honest to God I don't know how she kept them on. I bet there was a story behind those jeans. It was very erotic I never thought of she like that before that show.
