I bet you the best you can get for an injury prone WR with 1 year left on his deal is a 3rd rounder. Draft picks are more valuable than gold in the NFL.I just don't like the guy, for one. But I don't care when it comes to football. My reasons for not liking him of or principle not necessarily morals.
I'd rather have him on my team than not at the right price. But, for a first and the right player I would take him.
For a first and 4th in 2018 with a 2nd in 2019 is about where I'd go.

...that would be sarcasm bud................
Ah got ya, confused by the George one afterwards. I agree with you.
-
...why not?...Montana had a cannon and what the hell did he do with it?....so did Jeff George and what the hell did HE do with it?.....as much sense as a kid's 40 speed....Rice was 4.73 and sucked wind like a turtle....
Which Montana had a cannon...?

Circumstantial evidence and suspicion isn't proof. Unless they have recordings of Beane phoning McDermott about the draft board, they can eat ****.

I personally love it. Theres something to be said about attention to detail, communication, and a great work ethic.
Those things coupled with passion and you have unlimited potential.
I like having people with something to prove rather than those who have been there and done that and think that reputation is enough to live on (Rex)

What Panthers' Ron Rivera, Marty Hurney said about Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane
Having 2 young guys who are lauded for their work ethic. Could be worse.
-
The feeling that i had when Rex was hired compared to the current regime are night and day...first time in a few years i am optimistic about the bills future
Same. Whether you agree with the hire or not, you can't disagree that at least there is a vision and they are taking a new approach (going young) with some up and coming staff.
-
It must be sad when people realize their opinion doesn't matter since they dont either.
-
Fire Beane!!!!!!!!!! Come on we all know this is how it will end, lets not waste time here.
Only if we don't go 19-0, everyone gets until the first loss to have a perfect season.
-
Boo, I don't like this hire because its not who I want and he is not from the team with the best record/superbowl last year since all personnel from champions are the best at everything.
-
You guys wouldn't like what he would fetch in a trade, it won't be anywhere close to what you would find acceptable. Players with only 1 year of control who are non QB's are not getting you Day 1 or 2 picks.
-
Joe Montana made a pretty good career out of a weak but accurate arm.
-
I love how at the heart of it, it's about 2 contrasting styles of QB evaluation, exciting to some and scary to others.
-
I guess you could say that they have lots to prove.
-
As long as he isn't rushed and can sit for a year.
-
This is a job for the players and if you are going to pay millions for them to work for you it's not crazy for expecting professional conduct.
-
So far I have liked most things we have done since McDermott came aboard. Coincidence that we started making good moves around that time?
-
so who would they hire to replace him? No team is going to let their executive go before the draft.Standard protocol is to fire your GM at the end of the season, hire a new one, and then fire the scouts at the end of the draft. Doing it this way burdens your GM with a coach he didn't hire, and draft picks he didn't make.
-
They had to wait until now, teams won't let an executive go and give them their own draft plans and years worth of scouting knowledge to be used against them.
-
I think it's more that the replacements won't be allowed to leave until after the draft so you might as well hold onto them until others will be released to promotions. How much of a draft is disrupted if you get rid of the GM immediately after the season as opposed to waiting until after the draft?
I honestly don't know but if Whaley goes tomorrow it must be that the thought was a lot would be disrupted and Whaley did the ownership and new coach a favor by staying on.
If it happens, as it definitely should, you'd have to think that this was planned awhile ago. Whaley would have seen the writing on the wall.
-
nah, I refuse to believe that there was something fishy going on, for this reason, a first time HC, and possible first time GM wouldn't risk their careers over something so obvious
It's probably more that they both like the same kind of players, hence why they want to work together again in an expanded capacity.
-
Things feel different from usual this offseason, I'm not sure that's a bad thing.
-
Has there ever been a more polarizing 5th round pick?
-
The West Coast Offense was designed because of a QB with a weak arm, all this does is alter the depth of routes that would be run if he was the QB.
