can usually get more by deferring an extra year.I can't believe they couldn't get anything NEXT year. Oh well.

If you spot a mistake early enough you can recoup value from the draft position.

Good asset management

Peterman reminds me of a smaller Brad Johnson.
-
Taylor only because Peterman needs to sit and learn. I do think Peterman has starter upside though.
-
If I had to guess, it would be to keep him as a good veteran backup for next year and spreading this year's bonus over 2 years
-
not the Bills depth, we can't even put out 22 quality starters let alone locking up excellent backups. No, it made it tougher to retain your players and therefore affected depth. For example, the 90's Bills had quality backups due to strong drafting in middle to late rounds. Not surprisingly, those players were some of the first signed by other teams when FA first began. So teams are now forced to rely more on less expensive ( younger ) players as depth rather than veterans experienced in that team's system. It has affected depth, but I doubt that it reduced money spent. I'm pretty sure it has increased the percentage that is going to the players.

So the salary cap reduced the level of talent in the league? It just reduced the money spent and made the game younger and more athletic. The salary cap ere ensured that you can no longer build a roster " 57 players deep". You try to build an elite starting lineup (especially starting QB ) and hope not too many guys get hurt.

I think fans are too wired to "just make the playoffs" to actually see the larger picture of trying to build a championship quality roster that's 57 players deep. We were never just 1-2 players short of that.

You throw when the drop back is set and the receiver makes his break, you don't throw the second someone is deemed uncovered mid drop back or before a reciever makes his break. How about you open your eyes. Thomas is immediately uncovered.

I want to see Peterman play well and show me some promise since I consider him playing a snap during the season as a disaster. Also, disciplined aggressive play from the first 2 units.
-
To me any organization that requires a group of individuals to come together as and work as a disciplined group should look at the military as an example. The point isn't to just be a prick, the point is to establish strict structure. It is?

I'm probably in the minority here but I love all this bickering. I consider this a bi-product of going from Rex and his relaxed atmosphere to someone trying to take control. Personally, I would be trying to agitate to see who can handle it and who can't and slash the ones who won't confirm. To me football is like war, coaches lead and players fight. If you have soldiers who won't follow orders or stay disciplined you will load every time. I would completely dismantle a team to establish total command and control if I had to if I was in charge.

Classic case of fans falling in love with their own players. We weren't going to do much this year so simply establishing structure with a new staff and maximizing asset value is the best way to get ourselves out of the cycle of misery. These kind of moves could turn our great with hindsight if we rebuild a good team ala Cowboys trading Walker.

Tighten up the footwork and you will get more consistent and better velocity on his already accurate throws.

Talent is Talent. It doesn't matter if the coaches draft them or inherited them on the roster. If they trade Sammy, why would anyone watch this team next year. Only Bills fan would. Do we trust a first year head coach and GM that much. This would be the dumbest decision in bills history, especially knowing that we can franchise Sammy next year. It would also show that the owners are over their heads.
They could throw puppies off a balcony but if they build a contending team in the next 3 years everyone will love and claim to have loved them from day 1.

I dont understand how someone can not like getting free draft picks. How many of you would say no to free money?
-
His mechanics still need some work, but at least he doesn't need to learn them like he's never played the QB position at least. It's so nice to finally draft a QB that knows how to play the position the way it is supposed to be played...Excellent mechanics, stepping up into the pocket, hitting receivers over the middle and in stride...I almost forgot what a real QB looked like...he may or may not have the upside of the other QBs drafted, but right now, in my mind, he is the best QB in the 2017 draft.

With the amount of tax dollars that get flushed down the toilet for things I don't agree with or get benefits from, I don't mind it as at least I get to enjoy the Bills and let others feel upset like me over my money

So we could end up with
1st Round
1st Round (Chiefs)
2nd Round
3rd Round
3rd Round Compensation
4th Round
4th Round Compensation
5th Round
6th Round
7th Round (could lose to the Packers)
Possibly 5 picks in the top 110

It should be Kenny Anderson (not in HOF) on those awful Bengal teams in the 70's.
-
The best teams win first off the field before on the field. This looks like another step in that direction.
-
I would be willing to bet a few busts since then may have carved out a better career had they sat for a year or two. Loss of confidence can kill development.

Pro sports are entertainment, if you are not being entertained by it you should probably go and get a life. No team is worth adding stress to an already stressful world.
Ragland traded to KC for 4th round 2019 pick

I know people are always mad about everything because losing is all you know, but at least there is a clear plan in place and it's a long term plan.
