  1. I mean, to me if you have a racist owner. They are probably not going to hire a minority person anyways and in the end they are the ones hurting themselves if they are passing over the best because they are intentionally doing it.
  2. It could also tell you that small QB's aren't allowed to play at lower levels unless they are exceptional passers. It's not like college is flooded with 5'10" QB's. They are the exception and not the rule.
  3. Is it just me or does the Rooney rule not seem condescending?
  4. Structure and Character goes a long way in team sports. Once we add more talent to it, we should be a perennial playoff team.
  5. I typically allow for a red flag as no one is perfect, but I don't like the foot work, I dont like the release, I don't like the size and I don't like the repeated attitude. When you are talking about a 1st round pick, you don't take that much risk IMO when you have other options with far less baggage.
  6. Good question. I find though, most people who like his play like his production and most who dislike him as a prospect criticize his tools. Whats more important going forward, good fundamentals or college production?
  7. Yes, you get a toolsy QB prospect, some help on the DL and LB and some skill players that are badly needed for depth.
  8. I just can't get past his throwing motion. He has terrible throwing mechanics and often throws off his back leg from what I have seen.
  9. We are trying to establish a West Coast Offense and a big part of player development is structure. I think we would rather sign a worse QB who does the things a WCO QB needs to do (works through progressions and hit slants and outs consistently) because it will hamper the development of new receivers, the running game and offensive line to have a QB who thrives off chaos rather than structure.
  10. How many careers are defined by their first game?
  11. What if I win the lottery?
  12. The game where Losman came in for an ineffective Holcomb and went on to throw a pair of deep bombs to Evans for TD's.
  13. And just like 83, we have what could be a pair of first rounders in early teens.
  14. This is what lots of fans here seem to want. Dumping executives and coaches after the first moment of anger towards them. It's working out well for the Browns so far.
  15. My mock was difficult because the Sim was gobbling up all QB's and skill positions so I had to dig deep to take the best raw upside in positions of need in less sexy parts. Bryant: Very high upside big run stopper for the D-Line Ridley: (my best pick IMO) gets you a speed receiver with great route discipline and toughness but average size. Jefferson: raw athletic coverage LB that we so badly need. Chubb: wasn't looking RB here but couldn't let him pass. 3 down all purpose back. Would give you a 2 headed monster and heir for McCoy once he is gone. Cole: versatile, good technique OL. Can play anywhere in the middle (Wood replacement?) And a good pass blocker. Thomas:. Piece of athletic clay for McDermott to mould into a gem. Great raw tools and size, boom or bust raw talent. Bright: good run blocking tackle who needs to add weight, I think he could be a dominant guard especially next to someone like Cole. Tillery: Big, strong DT with good penetration. Adds depth to line. I should note that I would have taken Mike White if we keep our 7th, basically another Peterman type smart accurate QB with questions on arm strength.
  16. This is the perfect game for Peterman to start. After the Chargers game he can't possibly play worse, the teams expectations are down and we are facing a weak defense and secondary.
  17. The injuries are a big red flag for someone of his size. If you can fetch a good return, probably best to move the contract and continue to load up on more kids.
  18. Nope, I would have traded up for one if I could have
  19. I think we are going to fill out the lines through free agency and the draft and use the top picks on skill positions (DB, QB, DE, WR)
  20. 3 QB's went off the board in the top 4 and nothing else was worth taking without being an overreach. 17: R1P17 EDGE AUSTIN BRYANT CLEMSON 25: R1P25 WR CALVIN RIDLEY ALABAMA 49: R2P17 LB MALIK JEFFERSON TEXAS 60: R2P28 RB NICK CHUBB GEORGIA 93: R3P29 C MASON COLE MICHIGAN 119: R4P17 EDGE CHAD THOMAS MIAMI (FL) 155: R5P17 OT DAVID BRIGHT STANFORD 162: R5P24 DL JERRY TILLERY NOTRE DAME
  21. Certainly in the mix for us if we dont trade up.
