  1. Steve Freeman is a former Buffalo Bill. Played for 12 years.
  2. If he wants to be a bridge QB for two years at 5 mill per year and QB/player coach to new drafted QB and Peterman. I would listen.
  3. + other Super Bowl QB's =Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, Matt Hasselback, Craig Morton, David Woodley, Tony Eason, Mark Rypien, Stan Humphries, Billy Kilmer, Chris Chandler, Kerry Collins, Jake Delhomme, Rich Gannon, Rex Grossman, Jeff Hostetler, and even Joe Flacco and maybe Jim Plunkett. Cousins is as good or better than all of these.
  4. Smith contract in trade is 17 mill for next year.http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs/alex-smith-3337/ Tyrod is about 9.34 mill if Bills keep him next year.(18 mill cap hit if they keep him. 8.640 dead cap if cut/traded) http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/tyrod-taylor-7899/ If they trade for Smith(17 mill) they will have 17 mill + 8.654 mill = 25.640 mill tied up in QB position and only one QB to show for it.(Smith) If they sign Cousins for 27 to 29 mill a year avg. the first years will have a much lower cap hit and likely much less cap hit than Alex Smith 17 mill. AND Bills will instead have a better younger good QB named Cousins. In the short term then they can still build a team around him before the big cap hits hit. I choose Cousins over Smith.
  5. Why does a throwback uniform have the navy strip on helmet and on pants??
  6. The guy had a finger over the end of the ball. It may have never made the part of the white line that we do not know where on that white line is the actual line to gain as they never spotted and measured.
  7. OK you win. In my WR EX the WR never escaped the grasp he just pulled back and defender had not yet tackled him. Do you spot it at the 40 or the 37? the 4th and 1 is inconclusive. The guy had a finger over the end of the ball. It may have never made the part of the white line that we do not know where on that white line is the actual line to gain as they never spotted and measured.
  8. Ralph Wilson just asked St Gabriel to hold his beer.......
  9. no no no. The whistle was not an issue in my WR example. You brought the whistle into this I did not. It did not blow in my ex. Just like it did not blow in the 4th and 1. Just like a player getting tackled forward and stretch's the ball out ahead of him as he is going down, the ball is placed WHERE the ball is when his knees are down. Everytime.
  10. just like you agreed in my WR ex you spot the WR on the 20.
  11. when Patriot knees were down he had the ball in his body short of the line to gain. Just like you agreed on my WR example.
  12. ok then the 4th and 1 should have been spotted short of the line to gain. Thanks for agreeing.
  13. Shady should have been spotted where the ball was when his knees touched down with contact from a defender. Let me give ex: WR catches ball runs forward with a DB defender contacting him all the way to the 40 is contacted by pile of defenders and falls forward but not down and bounces backward staying on his feet. He then runs backwards 20 yards and is tackled. Where do you spot the ball? On the 40 or back at the 20?
  14. Your last statement supports no first down. When he stretched he was being contacted by a Bill. Knee was not down yet and he was not being pushed backward. He then voluntarily brings the ball back to body short of the line to gain and then his knees touch down. No forward progress should have been given to the white line. He was not down yet and his knees had not touched yet until he had ball back into his body. Romo got it wrong also. he showed a still of knees off ground and ball extended to the white line. He failed to mention player was not down so he does not get that stretch unless break goal line situation.
  15. That is right. It is inconclusive. Also he had his finger on the tip of the ball. The ball is always spotted where the ball is when the knees touch down with contact of opposition player. Except in break the plane goal line situations because when you break the goal line plane the ball is dead and play is over except if you need to survive the ground on a pass play catch.
  16. short answer. Bills player was making contact with Patriot but his knees were not down when he stretched the ball forward and maybe hit the line to gain.(not obvious as he had a finger on the forward tip of the ball) He then pulled it back into his body and then his knees touched down. At that time he was short of the line to gain. That is where the ball is always spotted unless it is a break the goal line plane situation. You should not bet your life on it, due to the following. When he had full control is a complete judgement call.
  17. Welcome to the Dot-Matrix then...........
  18. I guess critical thinking and math are not his strong suits. 32 teams passed on him in 1st and one of them was the Pats. Then 9 more teams passed on him in 2nd round. Selective anger. Fine we get it. Buffalo area was your initial home. But you moved to PA while still in high school, so why not hate on the Eagles and Steelers also?
  19. I would take the other route and declare I will only play for a certain team like for example Buffalo. Then list all the reasons. I visited and loved the area and people. It is an up and coming area. The game day atmosphere is like no other and closer to college etc etc.. Fans are rabid and smartest in NFL and very supportive. I always looked up to Kelly/Smith/Tasker/Levy etc etc......I want to be the guy who stands on the podium when the hard scrabble Bills fans finally get their due with the Lombardi Trophy etc etc........ He would bi-polar the sports opinion of him immediately but he also would immediately became an instant cult star for life in WNY and parts of Canada.
  20. Kelly was different. He went to CFL and signed a pro contract. Not sure how that changed everything or if the fact USFL folded and all those players needed an orderly reentry into NFL so maybe NFL arbitrarily ruled teams that had the USFL players initial rights in certain circumstances retained them in the dispersal of USFL player rights.
  21. I believe it is just one year. If he refuses to sign he reenters the draft the next year. They lose it. They could then draft Rosen again next year if they have 1st the next year also...... that would be epic funny and great drama. Even more epic would be if he fell to 2nd or 3rd round the next year after his refusal to sign, and Browns still drafted him.....lol.
  22. Niners went from vying for 1st overall pick to looking like an easy Playoff contender with one change that only cost a 2nd round pick. How does a team that had Montana and Young get so lucky?? Again??
