  1. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs/alex-smith-3337/ NFL players can not be traded in 2018 until Mar 14 at 4 pm. Spotrak says the 2018 roster bonus of 2 mill is due at training camp. Training camps are after the April draft as a mini-camp then full camp in summer. Not sure wich one they are referring to. If traded before training camp Bills would owe the bonus.
  2. I thought it was a given Ben retires this year. He himself said he was hairbreadth away from retiring last year and this was confirmed by his teammates and friends. Surely after one more year of NFL pounding and his skills eroding that hairbreadth gap would have closed.
  3. Kind of strange that a guy who had all kinds of legal trouble in back rooms and hallways in bars like Ben had, before he found God/married/started family, could not counsel Haley and get him on the straight and narrow.
  4. Agreed except details on minority owner comment: Only scenario acceptable to Bon Jovi was he was going to be the controlling partner. By NFL rules the controlling partner had to contribute a certain % of the winning bid. I read 30 or 40%. Bon Jovi bid as high as he could to remain the controlling owner. Because he was unwilling to be a minority money contributor and unwilling to not be controlling partner he did not have enough cash to meet the % required by NFL. This is why he could not bid enough to get the Bills. The group from Toronto could have been setup as one of the other big investors as the controlling owner and putting Bon Jovi in charge like Jeter is with Marlins. Bon Jovi would not accept. He was a victim of his own ego. This worked out like magic for Bills fans as he could then not outbid Pegs and so could not move Bills to Toronto after lease was up as was his plan.
  5. Bon Jovi gain: trying to save face in WNY as he starts a tour. Trying to rehab his worthless image to many millions of Bills fans. Typical double down liar who tells more lies to cover up old lies. Lies just keep on giving. Trump: not following. What has Trump done to make me think the story is not true? Not sure what you are asking. Trump has done nothing to make me think the story is true or untrue. I figured out Bon Jovi is a lying scum bag on my own. Trump does not need to do anything for me to think that Bon Jovi lied to Stern. I don't know if Trump had his advisor start the campaign to expose Bon Jovi wanting to move Bills to Toronto. Bon Jovi believes he did it. http://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-buffalo-bills-jon-bon-jovi-2017-10 Smoking gun was: Records were uncovered about business plan in Toronto that Bills move to Toronto was the plan. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/report-bon-jovi-group-explored-toronto-stadium-sites-for-bills/ Bon Jovi violated terms of submitting a bid and should have never been allowed to bid.
  6. ha ha ha ...lol...pure bull ****. His team was scouting stadium locations in Toronto as they were putting in a Bills bid. They refused to come out publicly or sign any statement that they would not move the Bills. Even after all the talk of him wanting to move the Bills during the sale process(after I presume he knew of Trump smear campaign, thanks Trump) he still does not address publically that he would keep Bills in Buffalo. Jon Bon Jovi bull **** at its finest. Not buying what he is selling for one minute. F You. Go back to New Jersey and buy the Giants or Jets and move them to NYC or Brooklyn and actually make someone happy for a change. A hole.
  7. No it means you have a chance to win about half the time or every other game in scenario you describe. That will get most coaches fired within 3 seasons because you will not win all 8 games you only "have a chance to win". This means your ceiling will be at best 7-9 year after year and more times than not you will win less than 7.
  8. If he wants to endear himself to the masses he needs to...: Not make all those talent dump trades count for even less by not maximizing the return so needs to: resign EJ Gaines to a contract with game day roster bonuses to protect from his glass like availability. find a way to get some value for Jordan Matthews likely departure(comp pick likely only recoup available) then also: sign K Benjamin to a multi-yr deal that lowers his cap hit for next yr....and also to prevent scenario they can not afford him if he has mega yr next year if they find a Cousins or other good QB to throw the ball to him. sign P Brown to team friendly deal as at least good backup(I know very unlikely for leading tackler in NFL so max recoup by not screwing up comp pick) Find a way to use a proven All Pro LT(Glenn) instead of dumping him for peanuts. Think long and hard about drafting Rudolph who is a relic of the past with no mobility. He makes Grapppallo and even Cousins look like M Vick. He makes A Rogers look like Fran Tarkenton/D Flutie
  9. Yes. Would apply same logic that a db hold would give a team automatic 1st down. Not fair that a 3rd and 40 gets a first down on a hold 5 yrds from line of scrimmage.
  10. Well....Zay Jones and Kelvin Benjamin are All Pros at not selling the missed call......
  11. Since defensive holding regardless if it is 1st and 10 or 3rd and 50 or 3rd and 1 etc etc............is 5 yds and automatic first down. Why is not offensive holding downfield(also called illegal block, illegal pick).......5 yd penalty and automatic 4th down for offense?
  12. Close but actually Whaley's fault....lol Who is going to volunteer to go get Brady's DNA ?...........and how long could it survive in a persons mouth?
  13. Great idea on paper, however, it would never work in practice. Defenders would use this 15 yard penalty to prevent big plays and to kill clock late in game just like NBA players use "a foul to give" late in games to kill clock. Great finishes would go way way down. In basketball this use of infractions is valid capital to play as team avoided fouls and stockpiled them similar to but not same as NFL saving timeouts or challenge flags in football. Should be allowed to use it. EX: final drive for team in closing seconds of game down by 6 and is at 25 yd line with no time outs trying for a late game victory. Get ready for repeated consecutive defensive PI as defense tries to run clock out. 1st play PI down to your 40 yd line 2nd to opponents 45 yd line 3rd to 30 yd line 4th to 15 5th to 7.5 6th to 3.75 all this would run off a minute or more of clock. team would have no chance to stage a comeback. Players would be coached and practice how to do intentional PI and make it look like basic strong defensive contact. Seahawks Jaquars and Pats would have a small coaching staff and support staff assembled just for that purpose. They would probably bring in Hollywood videographers to record it all and show the finer points of how it would all look live from officials point of view on the field. Job creation at its best.
  14. So the criteria for the actual last play(in this case the PAT) is dependent on if any result of that PAT or other last play can change the winner????? So if the PAT can not change the winner it does not count as the last play?? But if it can change the winner of the game it does count as the last play?? That just makes no sense. A contest/game or whatever you want to call it is not over until the LAST play is played. In Vikings case it was the PAT. If the game was over after the Diggs score than the Saints should have stayed in the locker room and avoided the humiliation of a play that did not count. As you said the winner was decided. But the game had not ended yet.
  15. Saints won't win next year either if they have to pay Brees 30 mill cap hit.
  16. No Vikings win will not be compared much to Music City Miracle,(even though they are calling it Minnesota Miracle) as it does not have any controversy. Technically the Viking game did not end on that TD pass.....they had to run one more play. The PAT. Just like an untimed down after penalty or whatever to end a game that results in the winning FG or TD. That should not be considered the last play of the game if a PAT is involved. It still could be winning play but not last play. EX: the Pats Bills "just give it to em" game. They had an untimed down with no time on clock after PI in end zone and Bledsoe threw a TD to Coates for the game winner, however, they had to run the PAT and did so for 2 pts. That was the final play. It is interesting you bring up Music City Miracle. How would it have gone down today??? hmmmm Riveron using the "perponderance of evidence policy" like he did in regular season 2017-18 should have overturned that today. Unless he returned to "100% conclusive policy" in playoffs like he did this year in playoffs, then it would have stood. coin flip
  17. This really is perfect if Pats lose at that game. Handicaps their draft, as picks are very low in rounds.
  18. Shaq is an immovable force for edge setting on runs. He repeatedly pushs two blockers like 1 OL+1 RB or 1 OL+1 med TE forward and holds his own if two OL block him. Why trade him for a conditional 5th or 6th that we all know will be from a team drafting very late in those rounds like they did with KC Philly and LA dumb trades. Then draft a guy or sign a FA with similar skills to then have as much or more money tied up in cap between the two? STUPID.
  19. Bills D is going to go through a major overhaul this offseason so no way to know what they will be. McDermott seems to have D figured out so I think they can still be good, but: P Brown, K Williams, Shaq Lawson, A Washington, EJ Gaines, J Hughes, could all be gone. Lorax may change to DE. They will need at least two new starting LB's and maybe all of the front 4 will be different. The O is a mess. This team is a rebuild now on both sides of the ball and some coaching. Getting to playoffs next year will mean they hit on all the new moves to come and would be an amazing feat. This buildup this offseason I am very much looking forward to. It should be fun. I can't wait.
  20. Never said Richie was. If he does though the employer has every right to mitigate that occurrence as they see fit. How would you feel if you are a high paid employee or any employee who does his job and contributes greatly to the bottom line and you go into your annual e v a l where you get your expected raise plus profit sharing check and the HR person informs you: You will not be getting a raise this year and will be taking a salary cut due to an employee who did 'X" and put our co in a negative light with the public causing sales to drop. All was clear and obvious and all agree it was one employees actions causing this. We did not agree with what he did and have taken corrective action, however, it was too late to rebound sales for this year and it cost us a lot of profit. Better luck next year. PS: you are right about the "kneeling thing" it caused lost ticket sales and lower tv ratings. This will cause salary cap to not go up as much as it would have if the protest had not occurred. How much is an educated guess economist can figure out. It is clear that it will take salary out of players pockets.
  21. Daboll is not going to ruin the defense.
  22. Agreed, but our point here is: Most employers expect you to conduct yourself in a reasonable manner and not bring financial harm to said employer. In entertainment public figure type jobs your personal life and actions are more magnified and a bigger factor in continuing employment then say a guy who works 3rd shift in a factory running a machine. Lower level jobs situation like that factory job would be less likely to cost you anything except burning up vacation days to go to court etc etc....that DWI and some legal troubles don't cost you your job because you are not the public face of the company.
  23. Thanks Brooklyn. You do a better job than media on this....lol....Pegs needs a Romulan cloaking device for this jet. Not sure I like this guy who presided over a ground and pound.
