lol... you are right. I'm watching on a chromebook with sling and if you don't pay attention and just hit play it leaves out the tiny word "re-aired".

It is. But almost any aerosol will stun/thwart someone in your house, car, open air places, etc. Even hair spray, fabreeze, cleaners, etc. I really started this thread to show that there are inexpensive things out there that could possibly save your life. If you don't live in a hot climate a cheap can of ant spray in your vehicle works well in a close encounter. Awhile back I was using ant spray to take out some bull ants that were trying to take up residence in one of my oak tree's. The wind suddenly changed and I got a face full of it... and inhaled a bit of it. My throat was messed up for 3-4 days afterwards. Glad I had instantly shut my eyes, have no idea what kind of damage that would have done.

I have a 9mm... and I know how to get to it fast but I'd grab 2 cans of hornet/wasp spray. Fairly cheap but very effective... shoots over 20'. The reason for 2 is that if one fails you have a backup, although they rarely fail. I'm not in a bad area at all but a story I read made me aware of this. Bear spray is expensive and could probably cause harm to yourself... the bouncers at bars use this one if it gets too crazy.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owen_Coffin Owen Coffin (August 24, 1802 – February 2, 1821) was a teenaged sailor aboard the Nantucket whaler Essex when it set sail for the Pacific Ocean on a sperm whale-hunting expedition in August 1819, under the command of his cousin, George Pollard, Jr. In November the next year, a whale rammed and breached the hull of Essex in mid-Pacific, causing Essex to sink.[1] The crew of Essex escaped in small whaleboats, with sufficient supplies for two months, but were not rescued within that time. During January 1821, the near-starved survivors began to eat the bodies of those who had died. When even this resource ran out, the four men remaining in Pollard's boat agreed to draw straws to decide which of them should be slaughtered, lest all four die of starvation. Coffin 'lost' the lottery, and was shot and eaten. The captain volunteered to take Coffin's place but Coffin refused, saying it was his 'right' to do so that the others might live. The title song of the 1971 album Nantucket Sleighride by American rock band Mountain is titled in full "Nantucket Sleighride (To Owen Coffin)". While there is no evidence that the song is specifically about Coffin or the ship Essex (and the lyrics are in parts obscure in meaning), it is written from the point of view of a sailor on a ship undertaking a "three-year tour... on a search for the mighty sperm whale", and co-writer Felix Pappalardi, in an interview for the British music weekly Sounds (issue dated November 20, 1971), confirmed that the Owen Coffin in the dedication was the one from the Essex tragedy.

Al Di Meola 7h · The great Chick Corea left this life one year ago today but the incredible music he gave us and the meaningful memories will live on in my mind forever. Joining Return to Forever was for me a dream come true. Chick was my favorite musician and RTF was my favorite band when I was 19 years old. It was a non stop groundbreaking musical journey. We were at the forefront of a new idiom called Jazz-Rock Fusion along with WEATHER REPORT and MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA. An extremely exciting time the mid 70’s were! Thank you, dear Chick for the legacy you gave to the world and for believing in me and giving me the chance to play with you, my hero!

I did ride by the Domino's this morning... man is it ever hidden away, so I'll give them a shot later in the week or next week. Only reason I was in that area was because of Portillo's, that is legit fast food. These are from PH workers: Why does Pizza Hut pizza now taste bad? Originally Answered: Why is pizza Hut now bad (pizza taste)? Lemme tell you the hard truth about pizza. If you open a pizza joint you’ve got to make a decision. Do you want to make your money selling a few awesome expensive pizzas or a lot of mediocre pizzas, because you can’t do both. What I'm trying to say is this: everyone loves pizza, but there are only two pizza markets. There’s the high end low volume market and there’s the low end high volume market. There’s really nothing in the middle because there’s no money to be made there. Pizza Hut made the decision to aim low in quality and really ramp up their ability to crank out lots of pies. They’ve got all the convenience pieces in place too: coupons, delivery, on line ordering, add ons like wings and dessert pizza, etc. If you needed to feed a hungry basketball team cheaply, you’re calling Pizza Hut because they can produce the amount of food you want and deliver it to you without breaking the bank. They offer some awesome deals. The downside to this awesomeness is low quality. Pizza Hut pizza is edible, okay even, but it is forgettable. No one loves their pizza, if they’ve tried any other, but Pizza Hut doesn’t care. They aren’t in the pizza business as much as they are in the feeding lots of people cheaply and easily business. They’re about convenience more than food and that’s why their quality isn’t the best. --------------------------------------------- I worked 10 years for a pizza hut franchise until the late 80's. Pizza Hut did have the best pizza. Then PepsiCo bought them out and things began to change. Quality fresh ingredients is one of the keys to having a good pizza. But I think one the item that pizza hut had was great fresh pizza dough. We made batches of yeast risen dough at different times of the day to keep it fresh. Now they have switch to fozen dough to save on labor. I new something was up the day we ordered a pizza and I could see that the dough was not fresh even before I took a bite. When I called to find out why the old dough I was told it could not be old because it was frozen. All I could do was laugh and hang up. I cant help but wonder if they also messed with the special cheese they used as well as the sauce. Leave it to corporates to ruin a good thing. Glad I dont work for then anymore. Just don't see this working out in WNY when you can buy a frozen Tombstones and doctor it up a bit with your own stuff. My guess is that WNY will run them back out of town again. Also, Mozzarella is the easiest cheese in the world to make so that's no excuse.

I was going to watch it but they wanted me to disable my ad blocker so that was a no go lol. I did read the caption though... had no idea Domino's was into the game that early. Reading up in the thread, it seems that Domino's has upped their product, there is one 4 miles away but I haven't been to one in at least 25 years. I'll check them out this week. Still, back home has some excellent pizza parlors... almost every few blocks. To me its like on a Friday night, where do you want to go for a fish fry? Gabriels Gate, Little Margies, or Long John Silvers? Down here people will even eat Marco's pizza (horrible) because there is no real competition in that field. So, Pizza Hut works down here but I just don't see it thriving back in WNY.
-
I disagree with what they said... grew up in the 60's in WNY and there were many pizza joints. We were lucky to live rather close to a great one in Lancaster, Vargo's. They were around up until maybe 15 or so years ago at the same spot next to the fire station. The history channel was wrong on this one.

Digorno's is economical. There is 1 "decent" pizza place around here, that is it. So yeah, every once in awhile I'll get a frozen pizza if the urge hits but this is Florida, not WNY. That's why PH does "ok" here but there is too much quality competition back home. Back in the 80's they were a lot better... no frozen dough... but they have cheapened their product since then.
-
This just doesn't sound like a very good business move... I mean, pretty much anywhere in the 716 is going to have way better pizza than them. Who would go? They use frozen dough so you might as well throw a Digorno's in the oven at home if you want the same thing. https://spectrumlocalnews.com/nys/buffalo/news/2022/02/02/spokesperson--10-pizza-huts-to-open-in-western-new-york-by-end-of-2022 Pizza Hut closed all of its Western New York locations in the summer of 2020, but guess what? It's coming back. According to a company spokesperson, 10 new stores will be opened throughout the region by the end of this year. Right now, the closest Pizza Hut locations to Western New York are in Rochester and Erie, Pennsylvania. The exact locations have not been revealed just yet. Pizza Hut officials in a statement say they "couldn’t be more thrilled to serve more customers in the region."
