Ya for sure. I think Cousins is going to sign with Minnesota. Josh Allen is going to go 1st overall to the Browns. Josh Rosen is going to go second to the Giants. Arizona trades 3 firsts and 2 seconds to trade up to number 3 or 4 for Darnold. Then Mayfield goes to Denver or the Jets. Saying that I believe in our staff and I have a feeling they are going to find a franchise QB in this draft still.

I think the bigger problem is the Bills don't draft enough QBs. They picked a 1st round QB in the weakest overall draft class I have ever seen. EJ Manuel would probably be the 11th ranked QB in this class. They used a 5th round pick on Peterman who is more of a developmental backup. They reached on Cardale Jones in the 5th round who had huge accuracy issues. Then you probably have to go all the way back to Trent Edwards for the last QB drafted. All of the second round prospects have a chance to become franchise QBs, this is a great draft to need a QB. Rudolph, Jackson, and White would be first round QB prospects in a lot of drafts, it is just a really deep class this year.

We will see. I think Denver, Jets, and Arizona will be able to out bid us with draft capital.
-
I thought Logan Woodside did a good job today too. I have a feeling he is going to become a journeyman starter.
-
Falk looked horrible today. He checks down way to often without going through his reads too. I think that is the way the Bills are leaning. I don't think we have enough ammo to move up into the top ten for a guy.

Why not draft Mike White high? He is nothing like Peterman. He has an NFL arm and accuracy to make all of the throws. I will be very surprised if he doesn't go in the second round. LOL comparing Peterman to White. 6'2 QB with a very limited arm to a 6'5 QB that has an NFL arm.

That would be a great draft. Phillips is going to be a great DT. He would be a steal at that point in the draft. Mayfield would bring us a lot of hope.

I think there are 4 potential 1st round LB prospects in this draft. I would not be a fan of trading up for one. Why not draft Vander Esch with the 21st pick? He is a beast on tape as well and has equal measurables. I think they will have similar 40 times as well. Also it is not looking promising for Vea falling out of the top 15.

NFL Combine - Measurements, Times, and Other News

Hopefully he is in the running for our next franchise QB. -
I don't think any of them are worth a first round pick. I will take the proven asset over potential every time. Accuracy issues almost never improve at the NFL level. I think Rudolph is a very similar prospect to Teddy Bridgewater.

Very impressive interview. The kid has the personality of a franchise QB for sure. I would put him ahead of Allen and Jackson at this point, his game is much more developed. He was also a much better player as a senior compared to his Junior season so I would have to disagree. My only concerns with him are arm strength and mobility.
-
Do you think his release is going to be a big deal? I hate weird deliveries as well, but I think he still has a quick enough release and throws with enough anticipation to make it work. I doubt it will change in the NFL, very rarely is a QB able to change their throwing motion long term. I am really hoping the Browns take Allen. Then the Bills will have a chance to trade up for Darnold or Rosen. I don't think we will be able to trade into the top 2.

That is a good point. Mike White had an oline that was horrible and bad WRs this year and was still able to produce. Rosen was able to produce with lack of talent as well. It just seems like that would be an excuse you would have to talk yourself into if you like Allen. I was just thinking about how last years draft compared to this years. I seriously think I have 10 QB prospects this year with higher grades than Davis Webb, that is crazy to think about. I don't have anyone graded as high as Watson last year but Darnold is close. Right now I have Darnold ahead of Rosen just because of the durability issues.

Awesome! I look forward to those.

I think we can get a franchise QB in this draft, it is a good class. I don't think we need to trade up into the top 5 to get one though. McVay made the Rams successful not Goff. Goff still has some pretty serious limitations and it showed in the playoffs. He had a superbowl supporting cast around him and a very good coach. I still think the offensive coordinator is just as important as the QB, look what Foles did in the playoffs. I want a franchise QB in this draft and I think we will get one. This is a stacked QB class, I just don't think you need to mortgage the future by trading into the top three. If we want to trade up we should be moving into the 5-10 range, that way we don't lose our second round picks this year. If I had a QB graded as high as Carson Wentz I would consider trading into the top three. I just don't see a huge amount of separation between the top 3 in this class. One of them is going to fall down the board. Good GMs put value on a player and don't over pay.

If we trade up to #1 it will most likely cost 3 1st rounds and 2 second rounds. If you make that trade you can't miss. If Rosen has durability issues, Darnold has turnover issues, Allen has accuracy issues, or Mayfield has trouble findng passing lanes due to his size you fail and set the organization back years. We could probably trade to pick 5 for two number 1s and a mid round pick next year. We would still get to add two starters in the second round this year. There is a good chance Darnold or Rosen falls to pick five, especially if Allen gets drafted top five. There are a lot of good QB prospects in this draft, as long as we land one of them I will be happy. Just because you are the first player taken at a position doesn't mean you will be the best player in the draft. What I was saying is there way suppose to be a huge gap between Watkins and the other WRs in that draft (he was a generational talent). You could argue Watkins ended up being the 6th best WR in that draft. I would prefer to make a trade up if our guy falls. If not I would be fine drafting White or Rudolph. Those guys have a good chance of being starting quality QBs as well.

Who is the Hindsight QB(s) from this draft
billspro replied to BBills88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am going to take this as QBs the Bills passed on multiple times. I will go with Mike White and Logan Woodside. -
This is a very deep QB class. I don't see a point of trading up higher than number 5. That would be Sammy Watkins all over again.

What are your top 5 QB's in this years draft??
billspro replied to elltrain22's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Deep drafts like this always have a couple guys in the middle and late rounds that become starters. I'm betting on White becoming a starter out of the second round and Woodside becoming a starter out of the 4th or 5th round. It will probably be 4 or 5 years before we know who are the best QBs in this class. I think Rosen has legitimate durability concerns which is why he was second on my list. I have Rudolph as a similar prospect to Bridewater when he came out. I think there is a good chance he ends up as a starting QB but has some limitations due to arm strength. I don't think Jackson has the accuracy to develop into a starter at the NFL level, if I am wrong though that will be my biggest miss of all time because his athletic ability is unbelievable. It is hard to bet against Mayfield because of his production, arm talent, and competitive nature. I think he will become a starting QB but if I miss on this one I will have trouble putting a short QB in the first round again. -
What are your top 5 QB's in this years draft??
billspro replied to elltrain22's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have not finalized my Rankings yet. I will come out with my final list after the combine. I usually watch about six games on all the top QB prospects. This is the deepest QB class I have ever seen, there are about 9 or 10 solid QB prospects in this draft. 1) Darnold 2) Rosen 3)Mayfield 4) White 5)Allen/Rudolph -
I agree with you, I have Allen as my QB5
-
It will be interesting to see how his arm compares to the other QBs at the combine, if it looks good he is an early second round pick for sure. Have you watched Logan Woodside at all? He is a really interesting mid to late round QB prospect imo.
-
Cool, when do we get you final QB rankings?

The one thing that is a little scary with Mayfield is just how open his WRs get. Lamb looks like a top 5 WR prospect in his draft year, he has an NFL TE, and a few other NFL prospects at the WR position, and a very good oline. I still really like Mayfield as a prospect but you have to take that into account. Where as Josh Allen had the worst team around him. I don't think I have ever seen an oline play as bad as Wyomings. That definitely hurt Allens completion percentage. Allen is the most difficult prospect to evaluate. His protection always breaks down so you don't get to see him go through his reads, his accuracy drops off considerably after his first read but that may be due to protection issues as well, and he looks to run without the play developing but that could be because his WRs suck. He also makes some throws on tape that only he can make, very special arm.
