Do you REALLY THINK our GM & HC will trade UP?
billspro replied to Punt75's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looks like we are moving up!! Which QB are you going for? I would be happy with any of the big 3 at this point. I think it will be Darnold. -
Props to McBeane, haters! (part deux)

I think we are going to move up to 2 at this point. I wonder which QB they fell in love with. I would be happy with Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield. -
You better get me Mike White in that scenario. Foles and Mike White would be solid.
-
I would be happy with McCown or Bridewater. The nice thing about McCown is he would be likely to transition to a QB coach in the NFL in the next couple years. I could not think of a better mentor for our first round QB.
-
Vikings -> Cousins Bills-> Bridgewater, Darnold Broncos -> Keenum Cardinals -> McCarron, Rosen Jets -> McCown, Mayfield Browns -> Allen Steelers -> Lamar Jackson Patriots -> Logan Woodside Ravens -> Mike White Chargers -> Mason Rudolph Bradford out of football due to injuries
-
I would have Peterman lower than Woodside, probably around a 71. I had Watson rated as 87 (top ten), Trubisky 81 (1st round), Mahommes 79 (second round), Kizer 76 (third round). I wasn't a big fan of Webb, I thought Peterman would be a good developmental backup, but I did not think he had enough arm to be a starter (which he showed last year). Free agency will give us a good idea, I think they move up for one of the big 3 though. Personally, I think it will be Rosen or Darnold.

Over- 8 Over- 4.41 Under- 17 mil Push- one of them slides just past the 10th pick

I don't put much premium on arm strength. What I look for in a QB; 1) Accuracy, especially at short and intermediate level 2) Quick and smart decisions with the football 3) Ability to buy time in the pocket 4) Ability to recognize defences and go through reads 5) toughness, takes hit to make critical throws 6) Good placement on deep throws 7) Statistics, Size 8) Arm Strength Lamar Jackson did not score well in my number 1 category, which is why is got a lower grade from me.

Valid question, my prospects ranked 4-7 do not have much separation. For Mike White, he does a good job going though progressions for the most part. There were just a few times where he didn't do a good job and it ended up in sack. Josh Allen obviously has some huge flaws and it could be argued that Jackson is a better prospect. Allen has a special arm though, I saw some throws on his tape that no other QB can make. I think there is a chance his arm talent over comes his deficiencies. I put a very high value on accuracy, Jackson consistently had over throws in the middle of the field on intermediate throws, sometimes ending up in ugly int's. Out of my top 8 QBs I think he has the worst accuracy. I am worried his accuracy issue will wont be correctable, if I am wrong though he will probably end up being the next Vick and it will be a big miss for me. Saying that, I really like this QB draft class, all of my top 8 have starting QB traits. They won't all make it but I think there will be 4 or 5 starting NFL QBs from this class.

Speculation: McCarron Lands in WNY
billspro replied to Ittakestime's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McCarron seems like a good bridge QB. We would have to pair him with a first round QB. I would give him 4 starts and if we are not 3-1 I would put the kid in. -
That comparison does not make any sense to me. Losman had an accurate deep ball but was really inconsistent with short and intermediate accuracy. Mayfield has pinpoint accuracy for short and intermediate throws. Mayfield under throws the deep ball a little too often for my liking. I actually think Mayfield has more zip on his throws than JP did too.
-
He has already made big money, I don't see why he would care at this point. I actually think he would be an elite RT, compared to an above average LT.
-
I am not sure, he is a pretty affordable tackle option. If they believe he will be healthy this year I would rather keep him. I would also prefer to move him to RT and keep Dawkins at left.
-
Rosen and Darnold are very close for me as well. The main reason I gave Darnold the edge was because of mobility and durability. I think they are both great, but I think there is a better chance Darnold will be healthy and playing games. Rosen is definitely a little bit more of a polished passer right now. I know I am higher than most people on him. Most sites usually have a 3rd or a 4th round grade on him. It is my own rankings though and I don't have to copy the majority.

With all QBs in play...who do you pick?
billspro replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we're going to do it, Sam Darnold is the QB I trust the most in this class. -
I think he is more than just a system QB. His accuracy gives him a chance to be successful at the NFL level. The system is less of a factor now as the NFL is accepting some college concepts. This is an awesome QB class. Last year I would have only graded two QBs in the 80s and only 4 better than 75.

These are my own rankings and will be different from the mainstream media. All of my top 8 have some starter qualities and have a chance of being a starting QB in the NFL imo. After watching 5+ games on the top 10 QB prospects here is how I would rank them: 1) Sam Darnold (Grade 87, top ten prospect) - Pros: accuracy, progression ability, ability to extend plays, pocket presence, mobility, clutch, leader, qb persona, arm strength, winner, can make throws in tight windows, size - Cons: turnovers, unusual delivery, sometimes fooled by coverages, not always consistent with deep ball 2) Josh Rosen (Grade 85, top ten prospect) - Pros: Accuracy at all three levels, great understanding of the game, progression ability, pocket presence, arm strength, ability to throw in tight windows, intelligent, size, quick release - Cons: Durability, few head scratching turnovers, mobility 3) Baker Mayfield (Grade 81, 1st round prospect) - Pros: deadly short and intermediate accuracy, clutch, creates energy, leader, winner, arm strength, mobility, moves around pocket well, progression ability, senior -Cons: size, sometimes misses throwing lanes, size sometimes limits him from stepping up in the pocket, inconsistent deep ball accuracy, occasionally throws late b/c of big arm 4) Mike White (Grade 79, 2nd round prospect) -Pros: Accuracy at all three levels, arm strength, progression ability, throws with anticipation, shows ability to step up in the pocket, senior, size - Cons: Will have to master moving around the pocket because of very limited mobility, sometimes holds the ball too long, takes sacks too often 5) Mason Rudolph (Grade 78, 2nd round prospect) - Pros: Accuracy, progression ability, pocket presence, senior, QB persona, size - Cons: Mobility, arm strength 6) Josh Allen (Grade 77, 2nd round prospect) -Pros: Elite arm strength, makes wow throws with arm strength and accuracy that only he can make, tough, competitive, mobility, size, may have arm talent to overcome deficiencies -Cons: Does not seem to process the game, misses open WRs, drops eyes to early and runs, misses routine throws, accuracy declines after 1st read, poor statistics 7) Lamar Jackson (Grade 76, 3rd round prospect) - Pros: Elite running ability, quick release, makes wow plays every game, show ability to go through progressions, escapability, extends plays -Cons: Very inconsistent accuracy, lots of over throws on tape, ugly turnovers 8) Logan Woodside (Grade 73, 4th-5th round prospect) -Pros: Senior, unmatchable work ethic, football intelligence, quick processor, accurate at all three levels, raises level of play of his teammates, quick release, progression ability, pocket presence - Cons: may not have enough arm strength to be NFL starter, size Other QBs that will likely be drafted late in the draft (I consider them developmental back ups): Lauletta, Falk, Benkert, Litton

So is our QB from Free Agency or Draft?
billspro replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just a gut feeling. I think the Browns have fallen for Allen, but realize he is a one or two year project. I think they picked up Tyrod this year to let Allen sit and learn. Scenario 1: Giants select Barkley, we trade up with Colts for Darnold. Scenario 2 : Giants select Rosen, Colts select Barkley, we trade up with Browns for Darnold. I don't have a crystal ball though, I am just trying to connect the dots. -
Josh Rosen has to be the target!
billspro replied to BBillsWestCoast's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield will be in a Bills uni next year! Please don't pick Allen, haha. -
So is our QB from Free Agency or Draft?
billspro replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well the answer is both. Bridge QB in FA and franchise QB in the draft. I have a feeling it is going to be Darnold. -
OPINION: We have a trade partner in place
billspro replied to McBean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would not be surprising if they knew Allen was going 1. Barkley will go either number 2 or number 3. That would leave either Rosen or Darnold at number 4. They could have a trade worked out with the Browns already. I would rather give up 21, 53, 65, next years 1st, and 2020 2nd. Hopefully we can get our guy at #3 or #4. Pretty sure the Giants go with Barkley. -
So... Is A.J. McCarron Back in play?
billspro replied to #34fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McCarron, Bridgewater, and Bradford all make sense as bridge Qbs. Even McCown makes sense, that guy is basically a coach. I just want a good mentor for our 1st round Qb. -
I have never been more excited for an offseason. I think the writing is on the wall now, we are trading up for a QB. I hope it is Darnold,
-
I actually feel Allen is a more accurate passer than Jackson. Saying that I think Allen does a very poor job reading defences and that is also a fatal flaw. I have him as my QB 5 or 6. Still trying to figure out if Rudolph is a better prospect than him. I am not saying Jackson won't be able to have some success as a QB. His running ability is the best I have ever seen from the QB position and he does have the ability to make good throws. I think he will have success against bottom 10 defences but will struggle when the better defences take away his running game and force him to win throwing the ball. Only because he has very inconsistent accuracy.
