NFL worried about Chargers viability in LA
billspro replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It sucks that LA has two of the more talented rosters in the NFL. I think all the fans saw this coming when the Chargers moved. -
Imagine if the bills didn't sign Anderson last week
billspro replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t want to imagine that. Its going to be a long 4 weeks. -
Would you draft Oliver or Bosa?
billspro replied to Skins Malone's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It would be crazy to go defense in round 1 unless we added a lot of free agents to the offense. We need to trade down. We need a WR, TE, and 2 olinemen by the end of round 2. We have a good pass rush, our offense sucks. Bosa would make zero impact on our win total in 2019. I am 100% wanting to trade back unless there is a generational OT. This makes sense -
Same there is no chance I watch that live

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - One That Got Away
billspro replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope you’re right about Allen. He did look like he was settling in right before he got injured. He made his best throw of the year to KB on that play. It gives me hope. -
Sorry I should have said I don’t see similarities in their play style. Allen will have to learn to step up in the pocket and keep his eyes down field if he wants to be successful. If he keeps looking at the rush he will bust. I want Peterman to be good, I was rooting for him yesterday. The fact is first and second round picks always get longer looks. Life isn’t fair. I think we have seen enough of Peterman to know he doesn’t have an NFL arm. There is no point of trying to develop a guy if the talent isn’t there. Just how I see it.
-
I don’t know what to tell you. Peterman does not have NFL talent. If he did I would be willing to give him a longer look. He just doesn’t have the arm strength. Allen may not be good but he looks like an NFL QB. I am willing to give him another 13 games to see if he can put it together. I don’t think I would keep Peterman on the roster today. The experiment is over.

Is that suppose to prove something? If you watch the games they play nothing alike. Gabbert came from a college offense that emphasized the screen game, he really struggled with consistency on deep and intermediate throws. Allen is a project QB that came from a vertical passing offense in college. He has more tools than any QB to come out of the draft in recent years. He has not learned to read defenses well yet but has shown some improvement this year. Allen still has a pretty good shot at being a good NFL starter. Allen throws much better on deep and intermediate throws but can struggle with the short game. The exact opposite of Gabbert. Nope because Peterman doesn’t have an NFL skill set. If the defense takes away the middle of the field he has no chance.

Josh Allen likes to talk some smack on the field
billspro replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Those were encouraging throws. That also should have been roughing the passer. Both defenders led with the helmet on the play Allen got hurt. The officiating was terrible yesterday. The NFL has to do a better job holding those guys accountable. -
Well give credit to the D. The offense was horrible at possessing the ball yesterday. Almost all of their dives were under 3 minutes and 30 yards. They did give up 4 or 5 bad runs on first down, but they responded well after it happened. You can’t just look at one stat though. They have had to deal with a lot of short fields and probably a record setting three and outs from the offense. Sal posted some good stats today and this D is pretty much too 5 in every category.

I’m not convinced he is better than Mariota. I would still be happy to have him but he is not a slam dunk.

Allen and Gabbert have no similarities at all.

That settles it - the preseason means NOTHING
billspro replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thats why I said the bottom part of the 53. It means nothing for the starters. -

It’s useful for determining who makes the bottom part of the 53. There is almost no point of playing starters. Also Nathan Peterman probably had 3 pick sixes dropped in the preseason. That is on the coaching staff for having a poor player evaluation. -
We completely shut down Green Bay. Our defense embarrassed them in their own house. They are just lucky they had 8+ 3 and outs to work with, you should put up at least 40 with the amount of opportunities they had. Also the Texans have a very good offense. Don’t kid yourself this is an elite defense this year, at least top 5 maybe the best in the NFL. The fact that we are in games with an offense that gains around 220 yards is amazing. I don’t know it there is any other defense in the NFL that would even keep us in games. In their defense, they were in the field most of the game so fatigue was probably a factor in most of those runs. Millers yardage and ypc were still not that impressive. What’s more concerning is the Bills never have any runs like that on offense. We are lucky to get 5 yards.

EJ and Losman both showed some flashes as rookies. I haven’t seen any flashes from Allen yet, which is concerning because those other QBs were both busts.
-
I agree, I think his accuracy has been fine. He does not seem to read the field like an NFL QB. He is also much to quick to leave the pocket and run.

2nd half thread: Wk 6 Bills at Texans, 1 pm on CBS
billspro replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pick six Peterman. I don’t understand how they can keep this guy as a backup.
