If Allen plays it means he is 100% healthy. They are not putting their franchise QB out there if he’s not.

It doesn’t need to be a starting caliber NFL roster to lose by more than 4TDs Thats the big thing is we don’t have an NFL oline and Alabama does have an NFL dline. Lol we have not ran well on anyone this year. They usually have 4+ first rounders (over 2 or 3 drafts) in their front 7.

It’s funny when people underestimate 20 years old. These guys all have grown man size and the strength and conditioning at Alabama is no joke. Usually their dline go in the first and second round. They also hold up well their rookie years. They usually have first round LBs as well. It’s not like this oline would be able to run at will on them. This is barely an NFL offence. The weakness of Alabama would be forcing them into nickel and pass coverage. That is not necessarily our strength. Our defence would own their offence because our dline would destroy them.

That was my thinking as well. They probably have enough NFL defenders to slow down this offence (which is more on a college level than an NFL level). I think we probably cover the spread if Allen could run on them. I don’t think we cover it with Peterman though.

Our defence would suffocate their offence. They have lots of NFL players on that defence though. I think we would move the ball but would probably need a defensive TD to cover a 28 point spread imo. Im not convinced they could, this is barely an NFL offence.

Agreed, it’s a defensive draft anyways. Pointless to have a top 5 pick especially with no QB looking like a top 10 pick. We are a lock to pick in the top 10 and should be able to add an OT at that point in the draft. Josh Allen playing well is way more important than draft position.

How do you know that? We won’t know that until Big Ben retires. He is in the best situation of all the rookie QBs.

Exactly, I am more worried about their ability to build an offence than their record. We could have another 10 points a game and still be 2-7.

Also, since his strength is the defensive side of the ball he should use most of his investments to bolster the other side. McD should really on his coaching ability to have an overachieving defence to go with a talented offence.

They probably would be 10-6 if they had a top 15-20 offence. Unfortunately, the oline was worse than they looked on paper, McCoy lost a step, Clays knees finally caught up with him, a healthy Benjamin was not any better, and Allen was as raw as advertised. Basically anything that could have gone our way didn’t.

I do believe he played QB in college at least.

Defence doesn’t win in today’s NFL. The Chiefs are 3rd in offence and 31st in defence, the Bills are 3rd and defence and 32nd in offence. You might need at least a solid D to win a Super Bowl, but having a good record is all about offence. Losing Wood and Incognito this offseason was devastating.

There nothing shocking about these numbers.

Bottom line is the defence can only play like that if they don’t respect your ability to throw the intermediate and deep game.

There is really no excuse for this, they save so many roster spots for ST players.

There are probably a lot of unemployed QBs that feel that way, I don't blame them.

I agree, with all the holes it’s almost easy to forget we have nothing proven at the QB position. This is a defense heavy top ten so trading down is really the only option. Hopefully we can pick up another 2nd.

Well I watched Flutie then didn’t watch NFL again until they picked up Bledsoe. I have been a die hard fan ever since. Even the year we started 0-8 the team was competitive and had entertaining games. This year is just unwatchable. The game is usually over sometime in the first quarter.

Ya I think the oline is the biggest issue. I hope we use our first and second round picks on some. Then add two high prices FAs. Use that 90 mil on oline.

If he’s not then the two guys running the organization should be fired on Monday.

I would be okay with keeping Beane, he has drafted well. McD has to go.

Especially with the way the game is played. All of the best teams are run by innovative offensive minds. Defensive coaches are lucky to go 9-7.

I agree, I don’t want Allen back out there. They will ruin him by playing him with this roster. I am usually of the mindset of having a rookie QB learn by throwing him in there, but this is a special case. There is nothing to learn by playing with these guys.
