  1. What a swing. Loved him as a broadcaster as well. Always learned something every game he did. My friends and I used to laugh about how he sounded like Gwen Stefani.....w/ that SoCal accent. Will truly be missed. R I P Tony and Thank You
  2. Don's Party. 1976. Don has some friends over on election night 1969. A bit of an intellectual crowd. However, the more they drink, the more things get out of hand lol. This film is quite legendary in Austrailia. Think it was a play first. Hilarious. Take the time to enjoy. You'll be happy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ke76XDXvpWM
  3. This. Bobby would be an awesome owner. At least the music in the gameday presentation would be solid.
  4. Please. While I admire and love the work of both Reese and King (and they were/are great) in no way can you tell me that Van did not have the balance those two did/have. I've heard hundreds of losses on the radio (sad but true) where Van did assume the (your words) "it's just a game" posture. Want proof? Listen the the 90 seconds after Wide Right. I believe he actually uses your phrase with the backdrop of the war to put it into context.

  6. Planet Earth's house band....The Grateful Dead
  7. RIP Ralph. Thanks for the joy (and heartbreak) you've given me.
  8. MLB 12? story. My friend played with the SF Giants. 162 game season.....took him months...made it the WS against Boston. Posey hits a 3run HR walk-off bomb in bottom of the 12th in game 6 to tie the series. It goes 7. Faces knuckleballer Wakefield. SF cant solve him until he tires in the 8th. Trailing 2-0, he rallies in the 9th against the closer to cut the lead to 2-1. Loads the bases with one out. We have five us pounding beers and cheering him on. 3-1 count. Hits into a 6-2-3 double play. Xbox crashes against the wall.
  9. Thoughts and prayers to you, Jim.
  10. Bauch is as edgy as Jay Leno. Lame.
  11. Quite true. Maybe BB became seduced by the realization that he was watching Brady become a HOF QB in front of his eyes. If so, it's ironic considering BB's defensive genius. I think the first chink in the dynasty armor was the Indy comeback in the AFC title game. Blowing an 11 point lead was not Patriot football. To me, the Cassell year may have been BB's finest in a way. 11-5, with Brady out. You cant tell me anyone wanted to face them in the playoffs. If Brady is Brady with no noticeable decline, and BB works his magic again, they will be in the mix...again.
  12. No doubt. I turned it off years ago. Whatever they're up to now, I'm sure it still sucks. Bauch is gone? Addition by subtraction. How Bulldog still is on the air is amazing (assuming he still is)
  13. This is so true. Hatred aside, as football fans you must marvel at how he keeps reinventing his team year after year, no matter what is put in his way. No matter what happens between now at the season opener, know he'll have a system in place to maximize whomever is on the roster.
  14. Another terrific ep. This one had a table-setter feel for the last two. I can't wait to see how far up the killing cult goes, as it seems like MM was getting too close for comfort in the eyes of his superiors. Such a dark show. Love the real desperation and pain of Marty's marriage. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet...."Why don't you buy me a beer....."
  15. FWIW- When MM and Ginger are meeting with cook #2 in the bar, Kris Kristoferson's "Jesse Unger" is playing. "Oh, Jesse Unger, you're a devil not a man..."
  16. I agree with the majority here. Pregame shows have become dreadful. They all use the same formula but with limited success. I don't want to be yelled at or be subject to lame attempts at humor. I just want gameday info. I wish DTV or some outlet would offer a channel with natural sound of the warmups and the crowd filing in from stadium to stadium, with a scroll across the bottom w/ info. That's a pregame I'll watch every week.
  17. Excellent show. The one take, 6 minute ending to ep. 4 was stunning. Last night was another stellar episode. I agree w/ the sentiments regarding MM role. What a great character. The jump-cutting between years can be a disaster in the wrong hands, here it's done masterfully.
  18. Nathalie Pechalat- French figure skater......yummy:)
  19. Cowherd may be the worst of the national talk hosts, which says plenty. He just talks in circles, not to mention he has a nails-on-the-chalkboard voice. His rants often make no sense, contradicting themselves by the end. The whole ESPN lineup is waaay below average. FOX too for that matter (ever listen to Ben Maller? No? Consider yourself lucky.) BTW- Why is Tony Dungy on SNF? He adds nothing.
  20. How did Kiko not get in? A shame......he's been terrific all season.
  21. Fun stuff.....go Teddy. Nice job getting these guys to play hard.
  22. ok guys whatever......and a big hello to all those sexy French girls:)
