He just wants to be a "Homer" to PSE and WGR (whomever his actually signs his paychecks) by not prompting a warning letter from the league. His shtick is to be pro Bills and not say anything even remotely controversial....
With that being said he is most definitely one of the BEST play by play guys I have ever heard, and VERY even keel on his analysis (not afraid to call out the Bills when they stink up the joint). I understand he is also very well respected in league circles FWIW
No offense, and I like Murph, but one of the best play by play guys in the league? Not even close. Listen to Greg Papa of the Raiders or Brad Schamm of the Cowboys. They're both in a different league than Murph.

It was so bad, my girlfriend, who really could not care less asked me to turn on the radio lol.

San Francisco. I felt the energy of the place on the plane as it left Philly. I literally had to pull over a few times driving in awe. Passed through several times. Between the beauty and the really cool people, it felt like home.

They'll get another shot at Gronk in a few weeks. We'll see what happens.

Not to forget the missed tackles in that 8 minute drive in the 4th quarter.
Jesus. I know. What a nightmare. OJ Anderson was 87 years old. The blame is on the D. Amongst other things.

When I look back at Super Bowl 25, wide right does stand out. However, I remember, just as vividly, a play in the 2nd quarter. The Bills had just gone up 12-3 on a safety. On the first play of their next possession after the free kick, Kelly threw a perfect pass to Reed, which he dropped. Had he held onto that ball, it would have been a big play 32 yard completion and a 1st and 10 at the Giant's 38 yard line. Kelly followed up on the next play by missing a wide open McKeller, which would have been a 10 yard completion and 1st down. The Bills go 3 and out and the Giants score on their next possession to make it 12-10 at the half. I have always felt that the Bill's had all the momentum after the safety and, had Reed held onto that catch, might have scored again to go up 19-3 - taking the Giants out of their running game. It is just a feeling and, in reality, it might have made no difference at all - but that play has stayed with me every bit as much as the missed field goal.
It funny. I rewatched this game in August. After all these years I viewed it in a detached way. Just as a football game. Those two plays you referenced really stood out. Along with the drive before when Reed dropped a ball over the middle wide open on 3rd and 1. They had no answer for Thurman on those 1st half drives. He was ripping off yards in chunks. They got away from him and then ran out of possessions. Ah, memories.

Lol. This speaks to so many things, I don't know where to begin.

Pay AJ McCarron. Use the picks on other positions.

Remember what team we are dealing with here. When the Bills officially clinch a spot then we can talk matchups. Until then.......

RIP Gordon. Thanks for the music.

Pats broadcast was way better when Gil Santos was doing the call.
Best now is the Raiders Greg Papa. He's not afraid to call them out when they're playing poorly. He roasted Cooper during the Broncos game lol.

I knew he came back for a few games last season and I thought things were looking up. This sucks. He was a total pro and pulled off something really difficult. Being unassuming yet giving it a big game feel. RIP.

He might be dead...
Maybe. That was vicious.

Eh.
Murph tries.
Lol. So true.

When China went Communist in 1949 the Democrats got beat up for it and lost the presidency for first time in twenty years. Then Cuba went Communist and Kennedy jumped all over that and won in 1960. The last dominio in the domino theory was the presidency. Both JFK and LBJ knew it was a quagmire to get in. Kennedy getting assassiinated may well have condemned many Americans and Vietnamese to death. Had Kennedy won in 64 he might not have the incentive to send 500,000 ground troops to Vietnam the way LBJ did who was looking forward to '68. No president wanted that image on tv of American helicopters leaving Nam as losers.
Here is an interesting phone conversation with LBJ and Senator Russel:

Fascinating piece of history. LBJ sounds totally lost.

I haven't listened in over 10 years. Sounds like nothing has changed. How Bulldog still has a job is totally amazing.

And, his Sopranos death will likely go down as one of the most gruesome ever...getting his head popped open by an SUV
That greatest "oh s&$!" ever captured on film too.
Frank was the ultimate NYC actor.

No comparison. I remember walking around the upper deck during the 2nd half of the Raiders game. Strangers were hugging saying "I don't believe it, we're going to the Super Bowl." Sunday was epic. That day in OP was once in a lifetime.
