  1. Popped up in my feed today. Not often the NFL admits to a mistake in officiating. The Detroit Lions edged out the Green Bay Packers 34-31 in a thrilling Thursday Night Football showdown on December 5. While the game had its share of highlights, a controversial moment stole the post-game headlines. Lions defensive end Za'Darius Smith delivered a forearm hit to Packers quarterback Jordan Love as he scrambled out of the pocket. The play went unflagged, sparking backlash from fans and analysts alike. NFL Responds with Fine for Roughing the Passer Following a post-game review, the NFL fined Smith $6,722 for "roughing the passer." The fine is a tacit acknowledgment by the league of the referees’ mistake in not penalizing Smith during the game. This incident highlights ongoing scrutiny over officiating consistency in the NFL, particularly in high-stakes matchups like this NFC North clash. Za’Darius Smith: A Rivalry Rekindled Smith’s history with the Packers adds an extra layer of drama to the story. A former Green Bay player for three seasons, Smith relished the opportunity to face his old team. After the game, he told sideline reporter Stacey Dales, “I came to Detroit and got my revenge.” Smith has now played for three NFC North teams, including the Minnesota Vikings, and seems to enjoy proving himself against his former squads. While Smith’s fine draws attention, it’s not the first time officiating has been under fire this season. The missed call could have shifted momentum in a tightly contested game, but it also raises questions about the league's handling of such incidents. Fines may provide accountability, but fans and teams often wonder if stricter real-time enforcement could prevent these issues altogether.
  2. 2 seed means we are home for the divisional game too. It also means if we advance and KC doesnt that the AFCCG is also home. Of course it makes a difference.
  3. Ooof thats a lot of questionables.
  4. Why wouldn’t I? It’s a game away from the Super Bowl. I don’t care who we play, they are going to be tough. Honestly rather play them over Ravens.
  5. Didnt get to watch this game but it looks like they went from the almost no punt game to the almost all punt game?
  6. Not sure if this has been posted yet. Im a fan of Grudens videos
  7. Yeah, I dunno man. I played around in the playoff machine a lot. The only thing that flipped the seeding was the Ravens game. So /shrug. We'll see when we see. I don't really concern myself with these things much anyways. The seeding ends up what it ends up. I just like to play with the machine for some side fun.
  8. Sorry but I dont care how you feel about Hamlin, he has done a far better job that Bishop. Bishop was a disaster when he played.
  9. I believe that is only to break ties within the division. Out of division it is conference then common opponents. Yes, I understand but the poster I responded to asked for a specific scenario. They asked if we both lost this week against an NFC opponent then both won out the rest of the way. In that scenario Pitts has the tie breaker.
  10. Looks like there could be some replay assist for missed/wrong penalties next year. Also a discussion about onside kick changes.
  11. Because he is. I like McD and think he is a great coach for most things but he has made game decisions that cost us games or at least cost the potential to win the game. Josh Allen is the best player in the NFL. IDGAF if Mahomes has all the hardware. The difference between Josh and Mahomes is the team isn't letting Mahomes down. They come up big when needed. Our team doesnt. Part of that is coaching.
  12. Common games against the Ravens. Pitts would have swept them. We lost.
  13. According to playoff machine, Pittsburg. I just ran it on playoff machine. Pittsburg would get it. It shows us in 2 seed right now but as soon as the rest of games playout the tie breakers change. Im guessing because we lost to Ravens and if things play out that way then Pitts would have swept them giving them the common games tie breaker. So if Pitts is gonna lose a game, you would want it to be against the Ravens. Otherwise if we both go 3-1 then we would be the 3rd seed.
  14. Umm we play Miami twice a year. Isn't McDaniel the HC who wase hired from 49ers Shannys offensive coordinator? I would think that uses Shanny style offense.
  15. I liked the extension at the time. He even had a good year after the extension. This year he has been terrible.
  16. AFC has 6 teams eliminated from the playoffs. NFC has 1 team eliminated - The Giants lol.
  17. We gonna beat Detroit. Josh is gonna have another superman performance and Goff is gonna pumpkin and throw 3 picks.
  18. The difference this game is they didn't get that turnover. Other games they still letting teams march down the field but then get a turnover to stop them from scoring. Or they do a decent job in the redzone to hold to some field goals. They can't always rely on turnovers. This D is not very good. It has moments but overall not very good.
  19. Wow again? How does this special teams coach still have a job? They have gaffes left and right.
  20. 7 of their points was off a blocked punt so their offense wasn’t 2 points better. A lie was told there haha. 😂
  21. Yes this defense will show up in the playoffs too. The only reason the D has been good is because they got turnovers after the other team marched down the field. Can’t always rely on turnovers. I just pray we don’t have to play the Ravens.
  22. this. I was pissed they punted. He did it in other big games that we lost too. Down two scores defense couldn’t stop a nose bleed, you don’t punt on 4th and 2 from mid field. we scored 6 touchdowns and no turnovers. Offense was not the problem.
  23. his own urgency wasn’t there when he elected to punt down two scores on 4th an 2 and the end of first half.
