NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol
Scott7975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
How does someone get through all 5 stages of protocol after a mandatory rest period in 3 days? Especially for an away game. The NFL’s return-to-play protocol features five, rather than six, steps:5 Symptom limited activity: Following a period of rest, the athlete gradually reintroduces light physical activity. Aerobic exercise: When cleared, the football player does aerobic work, balance training, stretching, and other work while being monitored. Football-specific exercise: Gradually, the player can begin exercises and drills geared specifically to the game. They can do noncontact practice drills with the team for 30 minutes a day in this phase. Club-based noncontact drills: While keeping up with aerobic and other kinds of football-specific exercises, players can begin taking part in noncontact activities like throwing, catching, and running. By this phase, the player needs to have had neurocognitive balance testing. Full football activity/clearance: In order to return to full-contact practice and play, the player must have a complete evaluation both by the team’s physician and an independent neurological consultant (a doctor assigned by the league). -

NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol

If he was put into concussion protocol on Sunday he might not have gotten out of it in time to play Thursday. Possible I guess but it would have been close. He definitely would not have had any practice time at all. -

So like 5 days later and they still havent answered those questions? Sounds like the legal team is trying to come up with the perfectly worded response. -
Protocol may have been followed but that doesnt mean much. The protocol itself could be a joke. Head slamming on the ground and Tuas following reaction to it is clear signs of a concussion. Sometimes concussion symptoms dont show up for hours or even days. If anything, they should at least review and revamp the protocol because that was a joke and everyone knows it... including other Drs that have posted about what they thought before the second incident occured. On top of that ... even if it was a "back injury" any back problems that would cause anything like he displayed should be getting scanned. People get scans from sprained ankles. This dude shakes his head, loses motor control, and collapses on the field. Thats not necessarily true. They would scan him and if they didnt see any bleeds or anything else that is too serious they could easily discharge him to go home to his own medical care.

a concussion isnt serious? Is it still 1980?
-
Wrong. You are labeling him like a franchise QB. That alone puts him against at most 32 QBs. Not all 110.

Sorry I disagree. It has nothing to do with Allen. He has the arm strength to put zip on the ball in the middle of the field. Thats about it. 15+ yards towards the sidelines and downfield he throws rainbows with all his might.

Yeah you right. No one enjoyed watching the super bowl favorites or Josh Allen destroy last years super bowl winner.
-
About as good as any other team
-
Im sorry I didnt catch that
-
The NFL already issued a statement that Miami followed protocol. They going to backtrack? Hopefully the NFLPA is succesful because the NFL obviously doesnt give a damn
-
Just because he was released doesnt mean he is fine. He still has a brain injury they probably just didnt see any bleeds and felt it safe enough to go home.
-
Hope you guys are listening to the post game

That whole franchise is a joke if they play him. There is obvisouly something neurologically wrong with him. Two hits on the ground and neuro symptoms both times. Second time level 1 trauma center. I dont buy that he is fine for one second. Either that or he is just soft inside and his body cant handle the NFL because he is going to take those hits all the time.

Thats great news on Tua but they better not trot that kid back on the field next week
-
Bye bye Miami. At least you got your superbowl last week
-
Please tell me they arent going to run the same end zone plays as last drive
-
I was thinking another FG then Miami could still tie with TD and 2 pointer.
-
There it is TD here should seal it
-
I dont get what that penalty was
-
They were bad on 3rd down in our game too. Not quite that bad but close.
-
Thats what our Edmunds needs to do

If people are having problems then its their own network. Im watching on my iMac in 4k and have like 8 tabs open as well and the picture has been flawless.

Nah Cinci offense really aint that good. Miamis D is good but they arent world beater good IMO.
