  1. So we just happen to have a guy with zero experience on our staff become a top OC... or is it more likely that we had a top QB on the roster that makes this a top offense? I wouldn't fire him now. That wouldn't do much to help us this season. Probably make it worse. End of the season though it depends on what we have done and who is available to interview. At this point it's thumbs down for Dorsey from me though. Thats pretty much what is being said. The other poster though is just "Allens throw was garbage, leave my boy Knox alone."
  2. Yes, I expect that my QB delivers the ball to a receiver in an area that he can catch it. I expect that he makes good decisions. I expect that he delivers the ball accurately for the most part but when he doesn't, I expect the receiver to catch the ball if the QB got it to an area that the receiver can catch it. He did that. The receiver didn't. I can keep explaining the same thing but you just have your ear plugs in. On top of that you haven't addressed anything I said with this weak post. These were different plays than the draw plays to Cook in the past. In the past Josh was taking the ball and running over to a RB standing still. These run plays the RB ran to Josh and took the ball with some steam.
  3. Davis wont get more targets because he is a deep ball guy. Thats all he is good at. Those opportunities won't come all that often. When he does get opportunity he drops the ball.
  4. Yes, there is a real difference between people saying "we need to get the ball to Diggs more because our other WR suck" and "Allen locks onto Diggs too much." It's literally the exact opposite. How can you not see the difference? In both cases the target share is the same though.
  5. Yes we all knew we needed an upgrade at receiver. Nobody was saying things like "Allen locks on to Diggs too much." In fact other seasons people were bitching that we werent getting the ball to Diggs enough and that other #1's get the ball.
  6. Maybe because this happens all to often with Knox. His catch rate this year is again abysmal. He got a big contract and he is not living up to that contract. If he just dropped a ball once in a while that is one thing. Thats not the case though. He drops balls all the time. He kills drives. Championship teams have their skill players come through for them. I have zero confidence in Knox coming through on the important catches. Ultimately its drops like these that derail a season and kill a chance at a trophy. Its the QBs job to give the receiver a chance to catch the ball. Its the receivers job to make that catch.
  7. I disagree. We can't keep saying that we just played a dominant line every week. Been doing that since week 1. Also, it's mostly Brown that has been a problem with this line. He gets smoked too often because he is slow. Too slow for speed rushers. The only time he did a decent job is when we take out TE's out of being available for passing routes to help chip the defender into position... again because Brown is too slow to get there on his own. It's problem is two fold because he aint good enough and because it takes away passing targets to supplement that.
  8. Yes, through 6 weeks Diggs has the same targets as he did through 6 weeks last season. The ball is being spread just as much as it was last year. Nobody said anything last year about it but one person says something and it gets parroted around lol.
  9. I had so much hope for this oline after their fairly good start. Outside of Brown. They seem to be getting worse as the weeks go on. A weakness was spotted with the stunts and other teams are replicating it but our line isn't getting better at it. It also doesn't help that Josh doesn't run anymore. That threat made D's play different. The run game that we have, while better, still isn't good enough to strike fear.
  10. I dont care about some summarized stats from an article that I can't read. For all I know, those stats might be 20 years old. They also might not be from the half yard line. They also might not be conventional plays. Shotgun formation still is not the same as pistol formation. They also indicate that teams very very rarely run shotgun from there. 17% is miniscule. So again, if you want to show me some actual plays then maybe but you can't so.... Your opinion is just that. Your opinion. God bless. Adios. Seems you can't handle a conversation where other people simply don't just agree with you because you say so. It's not like I got personal with you or anything.
  11. I mean... I prefer 1pm games too but thats just because I hate waiting all day in anticipation haha.
  12. Tell you what... when you find pistol formation run plays from the half yard line this year feel free to link them to me and prove me wrong. I suspect you won't find many if any. Of course they are and when they don't the receiver is expected to catch them. That wasn't an unreasonable expectation to catch that ball no matter how much you want to bang the table for it. Those off target passes are caught all the time.
  13. I just realized that this Pats game and our other Pats game are our only two 1:00 pm games left. I doubt the Miami game is going to be 1:00 pm if the division is on the line or even playoffs for either team.
  14. No. Its a dumb play because its a dumb play. Nobody uses it because its a dumb play. It's completely dumb to move the ball back 6-7 yards and give the ends an angle on you when you only need inches. Its dumb and it will always be dumb. Most of those conversions that you cite are probably some kind of trick play and those were dumb too. You can if you like, but that won't take away from the fact that receivers are still expected to catch off target passes. Thats what they are paid for.
  15. Yes, I am ready to move onto the Pats game. Lets get another W. We need to keep pace with Miami.
  16. From the horses mouth...
  17. Yes. Josh said that in a lot of their passing concepts that Diggs is the first read.
  18. It's not once a week. Receivers make hard catches all the time across every game. Receivers aren't just paid to catch balls thrown to their chest. They are paid to make difficult catches as well. Could the pass have been better? Of course, but these receivers are paid and expected to catch the ones not perfect. You don't watch enough football if you think that pass shouldn't have been caught. This pass was thrown low and way behind Kelce. IOW Kelce was running away from this pass towards the left sideline. Thats why you see that big patch of turf in the air from his slide to catch it. This is what good receivers do every game. They catch the not perfect pass. Because of files size limits on this board I have to continue this in another post... This is from the Jets game as I dont have a screen shot from last night but all 3 plays are similar. This is what Knox does... He drops the damn football.
  19. So stats pulled from an article I can't read but it was about the Chicago Bears with Justin Fields offense. Good model lol. Also stat show 17% of the time. Pretty low amount. I'm sure there is a reason for that. Probably because when you are at the half yardline its not a good idea to hand the ball off from pistol formation 6+ yards back. Especially when your QB is almost automatic in that situation. Dorsey was trying to get cute and it was a bad call. If they got a TD off that play I still would have said it was a bad call.
  20. Worse. It was pistol formation putting the back behind the QB. Just lol.
  21. Well two things. One, Diggs is the first read. Second, he isn't throwing over there with a defender in his face and a linemen on his right hip.
  22. I don't even think Dorsey knows what this offense is trying to do. He needs to go. He is not a good OC. What I do know is they are emphasising taking Josh out of Josh. He no longer just takes off with the ball when he sees he can clearly grab 10-20 yards with his own legs. Coaching staff is too afraid of Cam Newton. They also are actively taking away Josh risk throws that yes... sometimes hurt us but more often than not is a superstar play and what made this pathetic offensive system work. Those are the two things that Josh is special at that makes him elite. The same two things the coaching staff took out of him to try and turn him into Tom Brady which is not what he is special at. Nor do we have the players or play design to make that offense work. One other thing I know is that this offense, even in Daboll years, has a tendency to shoot itself in the foot and end up in 3rd and 15+. I use to say to myself "no problem, Josh got this." Now I don't.
  23. We have a complicated offense so he will be 30 by the time Dorsey gets him on the field.
  24. As I have said in two other threads already... Josh said in a pc that Diggs is the first read in a lot of their passing concepts. If he sees Diggs open or he thinks Diggs will get open then that is where the ball is going. That is the design of the Dorsey offense. Also... So you don't have to click the tweet...
