  1. Tough to say. I don't have game film and it could be Josh not going his way or Davis not being open. Even if it's Davis not being open is it his fault? I know that Int, like you said was part on him. Crap route. Also on his big catch, who was in the wrong place? I doubt the offense schemed two receivers that close together. I seen that a lot since last year too.
  2. I think trusting the line will resolve itself. It's just an opinion but I believe Josh wasn't prepared for the speed of the game. It's been a while. Training camp and practice aren't going to run at that speed. Jets are fast and vicious.
  3. Hmmm maybe. Jimmy G is also Jimmy Glass though. Potentially, he might not even make it out of this game lol.
  4. Early game, I think the correct call is to take the points. This wasn't a shootout game.
  5. Was it though? Completion% maybe. Results I'd say no. Punt, Int, FG were the first 3 drives. Even on the TD drive they were behind the sticks and Josh needed to make big plays. The last drive again a FG because again we were behind the sticks.
  6. Ya. Like I know they are trying to coach him up. I have no problem with them telling him to be smart and get oob instead of that 1 extra yard but I think they are saying more than that to him. It's like they want him to be a Brady but thats not what he is elite at. He isn't elite at precision. He isn't an elite processor of the field. We also don't have the players that get balls in stride and take off for another 8 yards. We have players and an offensive design that those guys find a spot, turn towards the QB and stop or they aren't getting separation so they are tackled right away. Sure, we might get the occasional few yards and even Diggs might get the occasional 8 extra yards, but more often than not the play ends where the ball is caught. Prime Beasley was that guy. Like probably those 13 points would have won us the Jets game but people want to see Josh check it down every time the pass goes wrong. That isn't going to win games against good offenses. That is going to stress defenses just as much because we are more likely to go 8 plays punt than to march down the field 3-5 yards a play. People think this 2 deep shell is something new happening to Josh and Mahomes. It isn't. They played two deep shell on Josh for years now. He has beaten it with his arm, skill position talent, and his legs. Prime Brown was better than Davis. Prime Beasley was better than the rest of the guys. This is why Josh has regressed. It isn't just some new defensive looks. It's the loss of speedy, smart talent and the coaching of Josh out of Josh. I'm not absolving Josh of this game. Clearly he had mental breakdowns and got frustrated as time went on. He also clearly doesn't trust this oline yet. I think this will get better though.
  7. yeah that works for them because they have yac guys. We don’t.
  8. The problem is the coaches for three seasons are trying to ingrain in him not to run the football, so he has conflicting voices in his head and that stops him from committing. They need to stop trying to coach Josh out of Josh. That heave to double covered diggs would have been a first down a season or two ago and the Jets D would have been demoralized. that wasn’t a designed run. Josh fumbled the ball because it was a designed quick pass to the right and he cheated and started looking right before the snap got to him.
  9. I think he also wasn't used to the speed of the game and the Jets are a fast physical defense. It's week one and training camp doesn't give that to you. Tough defense to start the year with, with no work. Josh will be fine. He is always going to turn the ball over because he is going to take those chances. He needs to get back to doing that less often and also scoring more so it doesn't matter though. I mean people keep saying "take what the defense gives you." Yeah, to a certain extent, but that is also designed to stop you and did often. It's easier for KC to take what the defense gives you because those 3 yard passes get yac. Our guys don't do that. Our 3 yard passes are a guy thats turned around and stopped still or a guy that has no speed to separate so he is tackled immediately. Can't take check downs all game every game... thats what the defense is giving us. Those don't score points. They just turn into punts. People are going to complain every time they see that one guy 2 yards away because the downfield pass didn't work. Well the flipside is people are going to complain we are always punting too when the same downfield guy doesn't get thrown to. Go ahead and roll eyes, gimme the thumbs down and the big red checkmark but I'm not wrong.
  10. I mean there is film on a ton of throws. Why you cross off safety? The safety is the guy that jumped the route. A better route and a better throw and it doesn't get jumped because Davis would be in position to not allow that. Sauce could just as easily jump Kincaid. He is closer to and already headed there. Maybe not intercept because of body position but definitely to break up the pass. Doesn't really matter that the Sauce abandoned Kincaid since at best he could have tackled Davis or pushed him oob after the catch.
  11. If this was directed at me... I am sorry. What I said came off wrong. I have listened to his podcasts before. I just don't think telling me something without showing me is going to do me much good. It boils down to Allen had a bad game. We all know that. If I am driving in the car, I enjoy a good podcast. When I am home, I enjoy visual aids to learn something.
  12. Yeah, my positives was the pass rush. Groot and Floyd were excellent. Imagine a healthy Von on top of that. Milano is still a beast. I thought Tre was good too despite the TD pass miraculous catch. The tackle attempt on Hall was a bummer though. Hard to really say how good our coverage is with Wilson at QB though. We shall see soon. I also think Kincaid will be a stud if Josh looks his way more. The short game overall looks there to be had if Josh takes it. Lastly, I think our line did pretty well considering the Jets front. Looked better than last season to me. Ok one last positive... it's just week 1. I am upset and disappointed but I am not freaking out or throwing in the towel.
  13. Well they all smarter than I am. (Not sarcasm.) What I see though is Davis is not double covered. I believe Sauce is the trailing guy. He is actually headed towards Kincaid in this moment. There is a ton of space between Davis and the sideline. That throw should be there. Especially with a deep to shallow read. That would make Davis the first read... if the throw is there it would be taken. By the time he got back to him the route would be over. JMO. Yes this. Thank you.
  14. Cool man. I dont mind people disagree with me. We all human and all have opinions. Just be civil. I'm happy to discuss
  15. Yeah and my opinion is the read is fine. Davis should be open.
  16. Oh ok. Thanks for telling me I am pathetic and can't handle that Josh had a bad game. I specifically blamed Josh for having a bad game. Maybe you should check yourself and learn some manners big guy.
  17. I'm not watching all that. Guy doesn't even show examples of what he's talking about. I actually agree with whats said in the OP to some extent but why watch some guy tell it to me for a half hour? In any case, this is on Dorsey. Part of Dorsey's job is to get Allen to buy into the offense and make the right plays. If Allen doesn't believe in the offense then we have the wrong coach. (the game itself is on Allen... I am saying getting Allen right is on Dorsey." I will say this though... people expecting Josh to "just take what the defense gives you brah" for an entire game every game are kidding themselves. That stuff only works short term. One mistake and its drive over. Drive after drive that happens. You don't score points. Teams like KC can get away with that because that little 2 or 3 yard dump off often goes for 8-15 yards. Our 2-3 yard dump offs go for 3-4 yards more often then not. Yeah, it will move the chains... if you play perfect ball. No one plays perfect ball all game every game.
  18. This is the point that Allen decides to throw to Davis on that Int. It doesn't look like a bad read to me. He isn't really throwing into double coverage like people are crying about. It just ends up that way due to route, time, and ball placement. Sure he could throw to kincaid here who would get nailed by the time the ball got there by the same guy that is "double covering Davis." He could also throw to Diggs, who Allen hasn't even looked at because he read Davis. Diggs would also be nailed by the time Josh looked his way and the ball got there. Look at the space towards the sideline. Thats a play that could have and should have happened IMO. It just didn't. I'll blame Allen for the Int here but I am not going to blame the decision. He isn't "double covered." A better route and ball and thats 15-20 easy yards.
  19. So a lot of hubbub was made last season about Diggs on the sideline yelling at Allen "Don't listen to him then." Was he talking about McD, Dorsey, or does Josh Allen have an alternate personality we don't know about telling him to do crazy things.
  20. This particular one... yes IMO that one is on coaches because they spent two years drilling into his head not to run the football.
  21. String together a chunk of wins and people will have fun again. The next two need to be convincing wins and people will still say we just beat bad teams. Beating Miami at home to follow that will bring it back.
  22. Josh has more talent on this roster than Mahomes does at this point. It's up to Dorsey and Josh to use it. There were plays to be had instead of the turnovers. Deep ball to Diggs, Josh could have easily ran for the first down. I think coaching was in his head on that. Ball to Davis had at least two guys that could have made a first down there. No idea what Josh was seeing/thinking on that one. Fumbled snap was a concentration issue. It was probably supposed to be a quickpass at the los cus he looked right just before catching the snap. I think the speed of the game Josh was trying to cheat. He could have just fell on the ball and took the loss there though. Honestly, the Jets have a nasty D. I don't think Josh was prepared for the speed of that game.
  23. I didn't really like Daboll as a coordinator, but he definitely did a better job keeping Allen grounded. Personally, I think two things... 1. They need to hire someone for the sidelines that can keep Allen grounded or find an OC than can and fire Dorsey. The QB coach and Dorsey are not getting this job done. 2. I think they are trying too hard to coach Allen out of Allen with regards to him running with the football. I understand the injury risk but now I think he thinks too much about not running and that is not only going to get him hurt because of his fighting himself thinking about it and not committing to running and also he now is forcing the ball more often than he would have been because he would have took off and run for a first down instead.
