  1. I mean... I prefer 1pm games too but thats just because I hate waiting all day in anticipation haha.
  2. Tell you what... when you find pistol formation run plays from the half yard line this year feel free to link them to me and prove me wrong. I suspect you won't find many if any. Of course they are and when they don't the receiver is expected to catch them. That wasn't an unreasonable expectation to catch that ball no matter how much you want to bang the table for it. Those off target passes are caught all the time.
  3. I just realized that this Pats game and our other Pats game are our only two 1:00 pm games left. I doubt the Miami game is going to be 1:00 pm if the division is on the line or even playoffs for either team.
  4. No. Its a dumb play because its a dumb play. Nobody uses it because its a dumb play. It's completely dumb to move the ball back 6-7 yards and give the ends an angle on you when you only need inches. Its dumb and it will always be dumb. Most of those conversions that you cite are probably some kind of trick play and those were dumb too. You can if you like, but that won't take away from the fact that receivers are still expected to catch off target passes. Thats what they are paid for.
  5. Yes, I am ready to move onto the Pats game. Lets get another W. We need to keep pace with Miami.
  6. Yes. Josh said that in a lot of their passing concepts that Diggs is the first read.
  7. It's not once a week. Receivers make hard catches all the time across every game. Receivers aren't just paid to catch balls thrown to their chest. They are paid to make difficult catches as well. Could the pass have been better? Of course, but these receivers are paid and expected to catch the ones not perfect. You don't watch enough football if you think that pass shouldn't have been caught. This pass was thrown low and way behind Kelce. IOW Kelce was running away from this pass towards the left sideline. Thats why you see that big patch of turf in the air from his slide to catch it. This is what good receivers do every game. They catch the not perfect pass. Because of files size limits on this board I have to continue this in another post... This is from the Jets game as I dont have a screen shot from last night but all 3 plays are similar. This is what Knox does... He drops the damn football.
  8. So stats pulled from an article I can't read but it was about the Chicago Bears with Justin Fields offense. Good model lol. Also stat show 17% of the time. Pretty low amount. I'm sure there is a reason for that. Probably because when you are at the half yardline its not a good idea to hand the ball off from pistol formation 6+ yards back. Especially when your QB is almost automatic in that situation. Dorsey was trying to get cute and it was a bad call. If they got a TD off that play I still would have said it was a bad call.
  9. Worse. It was pistol formation putting the back behind the QB. Just lol.
  10. Well two things. One, Diggs is the first read. Second, he isn't throwing over there with a defender in his face and a linemen on his right hip.
  11. I don't even think Dorsey knows what this offense is trying to do. He needs to go. He is not a good OC. What I do know is they are emphasising taking Josh out of Josh. He no longer just takes off with the ball when he sees he can clearly grab 10-20 yards with his own legs. Coaching staff is too afraid of Cam Newton. They also are actively taking away Josh risk throws that yes... sometimes hurt us but more often than not is a superstar play and what made this pathetic offensive system work. Those are the two things that Josh is special at that makes him elite. The same two things the coaching staff took out of him to try and turn him into Tom Brady which is not what he is special at. Nor do we have the players or play design to make that offense work. One other thing I know is that this offense, even in Daboll years, has a tendency to shoot itself in the foot and end up in 3rd and 15+. I use to say to myself "no problem, Josh got this." Now I don't.
  12. We have a complicated offense so he will be 30 by the time Dorsey gets him on the field.
  13. As I have said in two other threads already... Josh said in a pc that Diggs is the first read in a lot of their passing concepts. If he sees Diggs open or he thinks Diggs will get open then that is where the ball is going. That is the design of the Dorsey offense. Also... So you don't have to click the tweet... After 6 weeks 5-1 record. 4-2 Record #Diggs 22' Diggs 23' 65 targets 66 Rec 49 recs 49 Rec 6tds 5tds #Davis 22'. 14. Honestly, I don't remember. Yes, I also saw that but it doesn't matter. You can google and find the same data.... 50ish range field goals are not 50/50 anymore. They haven't been for 20 years.
  15. So basically, Gabe is a deep ball specialist one trick pony in an offense that wants to now play dink and dunk.
  16. Rule 4-8-2 ARTICLE 2. PERIOD EXTENDED. At the election of the opponent, a period may be extended for one untimed down, if any of the following occurs during a down during which time in the period expires: (h) If a double foul occurs during the last down of either half, the period shall be extended by an untimed down. Exceptions: The half is not extended if: (1) both fouls are dead-ball fouls (2) there is a major-minor double foul (“5 vs. 15”), and the major foul is by the offense, or if the major foul is a dead ball foul by the defense (see 14-5-1-Item 1.) Note: Dead ball, personal, unsportsmanlike conduct, or taunting fouls by either team at the end of a half are enforced on the ensuing kickoff (14-4-9-Exc. 1). (3) there is a double foul with a change of possession (“clean hands” rule, see 14-5-2) that does not involve a replay of the down. If a double foul occurs on the last play of the first or third periods, the period is not extended.
  17. Are we going to ignore the receiver also pushed off Johnsons face mask? Yes, it could have been called. It could have also been a push off/illegal hands to the face by the receiver. I also thought the one that was called was pretty tick tacky and they missed two trips on our receivers to start the game. Officiating is what it is... absolute garbage. In the same game you can add in a PI called on us when the receiver actually grabbed our dp and pulled the db into himself. I forgot the two involved but I remember the play.
  18. Maybe 20 years ago. 60 yard fgs are the 50/50 of todays NFL. Bass was 3 of 3 before the Giants game this year. 11 of 15 career before Giants. This chart is 3 years old.
  19. I'd like to know what was up with Bass. McD passed on a 55 yard FG early with Bassomatic. Bass proceeds to miss two of them later. There was no wind in the game and we were home.
  20. We use to be able to beat man coverage too but that was in the days when we had prime Brown and prime Beasley. We don't have those quick separation guys anymore. What we have is guys that separate by busted coverage and extended off script plays.
  21. The Chiefs are also definitely not playing as well this year as in years past either.
  22. Yeah, I was wondering that myself. I couldn't tell if the crowd just wasn't into it or the broadcast turned the crowd mic down. The game was pretty boring until towards the end and it was a long morning/day/night so I can see why the crowd was pretty tame.
  23. Diggs is the first read in most of their passing concepts. Josh said so in the presser. If Josh thinks Diggs is open or is going to be then that is where Josh is going with the ball by design of the offense.
