I feel the same way but I also feel at the end of the day that Brady will do just fine. Our problem is not enough playmaking outside receiver talent. Beane gets him that and Brady will be a HC somewhere.

I know I am late to this but sending my prayers brother.

Greg Cosell - “I don’t think they have a number 1 WR”

This. You don't even need all 22 to see this. I've seen it on the regular broadcast often. I am not saying Diggs is done but he isn't the same Diggs. Someone else elite on the outside may help with that. Maybe scheme might help with it, but Diggs is on the downward slope of his career. -

Different offensive philosophies because different QB. Flowers would have killed it with Allen or Mahomes. -
We don't see explosive offense anymore because we don't have prime Brown and prime Beasley anymore. We have an unreliable Davis that is a one trick pony, Sherfield, and Harty. Yes, we have Shakir as well and I think he is the most explosive player on the team but he still isn't prime Beasley. At least not yet. There is no one on the team to stretch the field, get quick separation, has reliable hands, makes contested catches, makes catches that aren't perfect balls, etc. If you want to see explosive offense then you need more talent. Davis, Harty, and Sherfield are not it. I dunno if Brady is the guy or not. I like some of what he did. I think some of what he didn't do was being hampered by lack of talent. This team desperately needs another outside receiver. I think if we get that we get more explosive offense instead of dink and dunk all the time. You can not consistently score by just taking what the defense gives you every single play. Especially when those little short passes don't get that YAC. When Brady was the master of dink and dunk it worked because those guys could take a 3 yard pass and rip off 10-20 more yards. That makes up for big throws downfield. They still had big throws downfield too. You have to have guys that can break what the defense gives you and makes a play too. Throwing 2-5 yards all game is only going to beat bad teams. Sure, you need to be able to do it but that can't be for entire games. Too much room for error to expect to score 7 points on 10-15 play 6-8 minute drives every drive. No top offense in the league relies on just getting 2-5 yards per play.

I didnt want to start a new thread for this so looked for a thread this may apply to. Not really many, but it's worth the listen. I wouldn't really take much stock in the title of it. Sal spoke on Diggs but I wouldn't call it "dishing out the truth." He covers a little bit on Diggs, a little bit about our skill positions (hint not good enough,) McD is basically safe, and the throw to Shakir instead of Diggs.

We all know Mahomes is better than Dak. As much as some want to fight it though its a seed/stat award. Mahomes didn't have the seeding nor the stats. Dak was the 2 seed and also top of the league in stats. #1 in passing Tds. #3 in yards. Mahomes was the 3 seed, #8 in TD passes, and 6th in yards. The award has pretty much always gone to the 1 or 2 seed. The award has almost always gone to the QB that is in the 1 or 2 seed and lead the league in TDs (or top 3) and also top 5 or so in passing yards. At least for the last decade or so. The rest of the list for those that care... AP Most Valuable Player – Josh Allen (Bills) – Lamar Jackson (Ravens) – Christian McCaffrey (49ers) – Dak Prescott (Cowboys) – Brock Purdy (49ers) AP Coach of the Year – Dan Campbell (Lions) – John Harbaugh (Ravens) – DeMeco Ryans (Texans) – Kyle Shanahan (49ers) – Kevin Stefanski (Browns) AP Assistant Coach of the Year – Ben Johnson (Lions) – Mike Macdonald (Ravens) – Todd Monken (Ravens) – Jim Schwartz (Browns) – Bobby Slowik (Texans) AP Offensive Player of the Year – Tyreek Hill (Dolphins) – Lamar Jackson (Ravens) – CeeDee Lamb (Cowboys) – Christian McCaffrey (49ers) – Dak Prescott (Cowboys) AP Defensive Player of the Year – DaRon Bland (Cowboys) – Maxx Crosby (Raiders) – Myles Garrett (Browns) – Micah Parsons (Cowboys) – T.J. Watt (Steelers) AP Comeback Player of the Year – Joe Flacco (Browns) – Damar Hamlin (Bills) – Baker Mayfield (Buccaneers) – Matthew Stafford (Rams) – Tua Tagovailoa (Dolphins) AP Offensive Rookie of the Year – Jahmyr Gibbs (Lions) – Sam LaPorta (Lions) – Puka Nacua (Rams) – Bijan Robinson (Falcons) – C.J. Stroud (Texans) AP Defensive Rookie of the Year – Will Anderson (Texans) – Jalen Carter (Eagles) – Joey Porter Jr. (Steelers) – Kobie Turner (Rams) – Devon Witherspoon (Seahawks) The NFL and The Associated Press have announced the finalists for their annual awards for the 2023 NFL season. Award winners will be announced at NFL Honors on Thursday, Feb. 8 at the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas. NFL Honors will air live at 9 p.m. ET on the CBS Television Network and NFL Network and stream live on Paramount+ and NFL+.

MVP in part has always been a stat award. Usually goes to 1 or 2 seed and the QBs are almost always top 3 in TDs at the very least.

Woods wanted out. Nobody ran him out. Jones still took years just to be a decent guy. Gabe is not better than Woods.

Allen was legendary (even better than 13 seconds Allen)

Yet I have said almost all year that Bass was off and got argued with every week about it. It took until KC playoff game for people to agree with me. -

I don't think there is a chance in hell McD goes for it in that spot. McD is pretty aggressive on 4th downs comparatively to most other coaches, but with the game on the line when they have a chip shot tie, I don't see McD going for that. 4th and 1 maybe and even that is close for me. 4th and 5 id say 99% chance no. Before you disagree, how often have you seen McD go for 4th and 5? Has McD ever put the game on the line on 4th down instead of taking the tie if its possible and extending the game? Not that I recall. -

and his losses... Rookie year with a team that wasn't even a playoff team. Mahomes Mahomes Burrow (the mentally exhausted year. I dont really like this excuse but hey they did one for Lamar so...) Mahomes No shame in any of those losses. Especially when at least one of them shouldn't have been a loss. -

He is not. Hero ball is trying to make something happen thats crazy and not really there to be made. Stuff that maybe even put the ball in jeopardy. Josh didn't do that all night. Deep throws are not hero ball. -

Actually, I agree with this. It's a shame Dawkins got abused and Josh missed the pass. I would say that Josh worked harder and did more than anyone on the field though. This team needs to stop fielding the Sherfield and Harty's at receiver and go get someone reliable. I would not. It was decent but Brady suffers from the same thing that Dorsey and Daboll both suffered from. He doesn't know how to mix up a game and keep a defense guessing on its toes. The other team knows we are running. The other team knows we are passing more often than not. It always seems run when the passing game isn't working so well and run until the run is stopped. Hardly ever do I see a shot or even a pass play on second and short for instance. Even though, we may convert that 2nd and short for a first down via the run, thats all it usually is... a couple yards. The other team knows its coming because thats what we do. How about throw a pass play in there once in a while. Its like we set stuff up all game and all year long but never work off the setup.
