To me, the benefit of the defense causing the fumble is a chance at getting the ball back. If they don't capitalize on that chance and recover then that's just not completing the opportunity.

The thing I would disagree on here is the bubble screen thing actually did work. Josh just took too long to come off Diggs and didn't see Davis wide ass open streaking to the end zone. If he came off Diggs a half second sooner then that was an easy TD instead of incomplete to Kincaid who was covered tight. Also Buffalo scored 14 points in the second half of the Eagles game and it should have been 17 if not for the missed FG.

If this happened on the rest of the field, like lets say someone fumbled and the ball went out the sideline on the 10 after gaining 20 yards, would they not get the ball at the 10? If it went out at the 1 then they would get the ball at the 1 yes? Why should it be different if the ball went a yard further and went out after the goal line? Thats why I don't understand that view.

I don't agree with you. There are a lot of scenarios that the Bills don't get in via WC that are very reasonable outcomes of games. We shall see in the coming weeks. Hopefully we just win the division and it doesn't matter. That is our best path and I think a likely one.

No, you don't get it. The Dolphins can lose the next 3 while the Bills can win the next 3. The Dolphins would still win the division by beating us in the last game. The Bills don't also have to lose out. To win the division, beating the Dolphins is a must. Achane is also beat up. As is Miami's oline. They may be on to a center that they just signed.

I think on offense its Davis week. He is supposed to be good in cover 1 coverage and Dallas plays alot of that. Most in the NFL. On Defense, Taron Johnson is going to have to have a good game as he is likely to match up with Lamb a lot.

Right, that's all reasonable. My thing is that in that scenario, there are 4 different games that if any of them go the other way the Bills would be out. Any of the 4 games going the other way is also reasonable. So, while you have shown 1 way the Bills can get in, I can show you 4 different ways that put the Bills out based off of that. To me, that's not good odds.

mind giving me your game by game for each week? Honestly, I think we still win the division even losing to the Cowboys but I'm looking for the WC alternatives in case we don't. My thing with this is if "A" happens week one then the other weeks specific stuff needs to keep happening. Otherwise it just changes which teams beat us out for the spot.

There are also a lot of scenarios that they don't. I play with the machine a lot too. Like I said earlier... it's a coinflip. That to me is not a good chance. Thats a pray Dalton makes an unlikely game winning TD on 4th down type chance IMO. Basically hoping for teams like the Bears beating the Browns and Minesota beating Cinci. Can happen but it would be an upset IMO, even with backup QBs. Getting in at 9 wins is definitely not going to happen.

I think Brady has done good work with this offense. Every week I am getting closer to thinking Brady is IT. A good week against the Cowboys and I am there. This is some good stuff here. Its only 4 plays but really good stuff and it shows Brady throwing a wrinkle to get a look you want after a defense adjusted to the same basic play earlier.

Same. Just go through the games and select the team winner that makes sense and youll see how hard it actually is to get in at 10-7. Its like a coin flip and that to me is not good odds. Especially when that coin flip is weighted towards teams losing games they shouldn't.

Good I hate this rule. At least give the ball back to the offense even if its at the original line of scrimmage. Thats far better than awarding an undeserved touchback. Personally I think the ball should just go to where the fumble occurred. Why not?

Its amazing how there are still people that think 10-7 is a sure in but can't post a reasonable scenario or even argue against the scenario I posted. It's like they don't even look at a simulator at all and just trust some 53% vegas like odds or past history of 10 win teams making it. This is not those years. Those years didn't have a 6 way tie for spots plus a team 1 game ahead and a team 1 game behind this late in the season.

You answered your own question. This is why we care about the Jags. If they win the division the head to head against them doesn't matter as far as wc goes.

What happened with Poyer now?

Possibly back for the playoffs but probably his last year. Father Time is catching him. His neck injury last year was no joke and two stingers this year ain’t good. Also didn’t seem as impactful this year so probably lost a step. this D is getting retooled next year. Sucks for the guys leaving but that’s the business.

kinda changes every week because all these teams are staying even and no one is running away. I dunno about pitts and indi but I think we want the jags winning their division. We don’t want to compete with them for a wc if we don’t win ours. Ravens are pretty much a lock anyhow. I’ll look at it when I get home.
