Derek Carr reportedly in demand, could lead to trade
Rc2catch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we’ve already seen the biggest quarterback move of the offseason. Reporters are bored. Every team has a package of players and picks to offer for Watson right now. I read a Baltimore story on Facebook from some “reporter” about sending Lamar and Judon (franchise tagged hypothetically in the story) and picks for Watson. It’s all madness and lack of interesting stories this offseason so far -
Jeez Mahomes has some serious stalker level fans on here.

Deshaun Watson officially requests trade from Houston
Rc2catch replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is no package that doesn’t involve an elite quarterback being included that is worth while for Houston. Quarterback is so hard to hit on you don’t trade an elite one away at a young age. I have said all along Houston should call his bluff and see if he’ll take the fines and miss games. Had he not just signed the extension I would agree with his demands to get out. We’re not talking a franchise tag here though. I would call his bluff. He’s not forfeiting all that money to sit home -
He’s faced very little adversity. Hill has barely missed more than 2-3 games and stayed healthy. Kelce is mostly always healthy. He has the perfect setup. Always has since day one. I think people forget how great that team looked with Alex smith sometimes. Of course he’ll still be good without those guys but I doubt they dominate the league if Kelce tore an ACL or Hill broke an ankle or something. He’s human. He throws a lot of bad balls too. He’s a top 5-10 quarterback with just about any supporting cast but he’s not just sooooooooo much better than any other quarterback to ever play after 3 seasons. I don’t want to take away from his accomplishments cause he still had to execute the offense and make those throws. There’s a happy medium to OH MY GOD HE IS THE BEST EVER and he’s a product of the team.

Cam Newton, NFL MVP. Does any team want him 2021?
Rc2catch replied to Nihilarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cam should head to the XFL. That’s not meant as a shot against him. But it would be a fantastic shot for him to face lesser competition and build some confidence. He would immediately be the face of the league (we know he enjoys the spotlight) And he needs to show teams he’s better than what happened in New England if he wants to continue playing. As of right now I don’t think anyone would sign him unless there’s a major rash of injuries like WFT had. As for Josh, I don’t see any real comparisons this year to MVP cam. Josh has better pocket awareness and doesn’t take half the nasty shots cam used to take behind the line. When running Josh has gotten down a lot more and is not a powerhouse goal line back like how Carolina used cam. -
Goff hasn’t hurt their careers cause they’re huge run after catch receivers. Golloday is a 50 yard go up and get it deep threat. Goff isn’t exactly known for his deep pass game. Jones, Hockenson and Swift are gonna love Goff. I just don’t see Golloday having success with him. Won’t matter cause they’re probably franchise tagging him and he won’t get a choice

I don’t know. I don’t think he’s a terrible as some make him out to be. If he was on the trade block someone would probably bite even at that salary
-
Detroit is about to reset some. So Goffs money don’t hurt. Best case he develops there without McVay in his ear, worst case he helps their draft position.
-
He’s not elite but a team could do much worse. Plenty of teams with a worse quarterback situation than Detroit. Bout to be a big year for Swift
-
I’m not overly worried. Any team in the East giving up all the ammo to get him likely is left with scraps. My opinion has always been he signed that extension I’d make him sit and take those fines. Had he not signed the extension and been on the last year or franchise tagged I’d probably be more on his side. He knew who was cutting him that check though
-
Lol Miami’s entire draft stock the next two years? CMC+Bridgewater and multiple picks Washington doesn’t even have enough ammo. San Fran maybe if they throw in one of their top talent guys like Kittle or Bosa and picks. Hahaha I wouldn’t make any of those trades but it’ll have to be something nutty I think
-
I was hoping he’d stay in the NFC, I can’t be much of a fan of his if he heads to Baltimore or New England or Miami or something. Guys a beast when healthy though
-
If my name is Kenny Golloday I am ruining full speed out of Detroit right now (hopefully he doesn’t injure himself doing it) Golloday is one of my favorite players though in all seriousness.

Yikes.. I like the move for LA but that’s a lot to give up

Beane says no "blockbuster" moves. Do you believe him?

Lol I would strongly disagree with that plan. -

I don’t think there will be any blockbusters or headline moves. I’d like to try and get Khalil Mack or something for our first rounder but not sure how many teams are going to fire sale their rosters. We have to stop stressing the cap so much there’s a million ways to manipulate the money if we need to free any up for a big player. It will be an extremely important draft for us though simply because we will need at least 3 players who can contribute from this class. You can never take anything a GM or coach says at 100% truth. -
I would keep Addison over Hughes. Jerry’s play has dropped off a lot, but I’m letting him go simply because the refs hate his guts. I watch a decent amount of football around the league and I have never seen a defensive lineman abused as much as Hughes and never get a call. I don’t know his leadership abilities but production wise our guys are all pretty easily replaced by younger and hungrier guys.

You don’t cut players like singletary until preseason at least. Just a silly thread. They’ll probably add some guys to the group and would be nice to get a speedy returner receiver at running back. But cutting him now or before preseason is DUMB.
