Offense line problems - bring back Aaron Kromer?
Rc2catch replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think our run blocking would be ok if they did it more. A lot of blocking is repetition and when you don’t do it it’s hard to just turn on. They seemed to run fine the one New England game when the line got in rhythm and have reps doing it. It’s hard to run 5 times in the first half and just turn it on to run later. -
I had to go with Knox, mostly just because of the amount of people who don’t even want to see if he develops they just want him benched. Edmunds is a close second imo as he might be the most hated guy on the current roster which is quite funny to me.

I chose Buffalo, as much as I would dislike all the press about it I do think he makes our team better

Deshaun Watson officially requests trade from Houston

Watson will be playing with Houston come week 1. Let the reporters have some fun with the story though. -
Available players released from other teams

This is the kind of signing I’d like to see. He can’t stay healthy as a full time player but he’s an impact for a few games and should be cheap. Given he’d be lower on our depth chart he won’t be used as much and might have a better shot staying healthy. Also not the worst returner if he’s needed there too. -

You really hating on someone for wanting maximum value on HIS talent and money? Yeah that extra couple million might be the difference in a full comfortable retirement or having to find more work at age 50+ Let’s not forget the damage these guys are doing to their bodies and in some cases brains. Let that man make his money. Your second contract is your retirement package for most in the NFL. He’s earned every penny he can get. Also keep in mind that extra couple million might not be for him but his family. -

This was my take as well for a long time. I actually hope that if he leaves they start making adjustments to the scheme though. If they know going into the season they can’t do the same things without Milano they’ll fit the system better to what they have. -

I don’t think Milano has the pass rush chops they covet. Overall with the opt out guys coming back possibly they don’t need much on defense. I would have to guess they need the money for offense. They are losing some linemen and running backs and of course had no weapons on the outside already. -

I don’t know, they really like guys who can play multiple spots and they need to heavily invest on the offensive side of the ball this year. -
When you are about to or have your quarterback signed to a bigtime deal EVERY move is basically a short term move. The goal is always to lock up your young core talent. Milano is not part of the core. Signing Watt or anyone is always a risk of injury. But no risk no reward. Darryl williams was a high risk signing despite a lower cap number because he had years of injuries and recent bad play. You don’t get many players with as high a ceiling in free agency as watt and that’s why basically every team with playoff aspirations will offer him a contract. Signing Watt even if he’s not 100% who he was is an improvement for every player on our defense and raises the production of probably every player in the front 7.

Jason Sanders new contract for Miami

You either have a kicker or you don’t. Year after year we keep seeing teams rotating kickers on and off the roster trying to find one that can stick and have some semblance of consistency. If you find one you think is top 10ish in the league you keep them and pay the extra money if you want to win games. -
Position Group least in need of a move

If there is one thing we have learned from mcdermott thus far it’s that they will add cornerbacks every year and do a helluva job coaching them up -
That’s what I mean. The system was setup pre social media instant news and it was much more reliable. I guess my issue is more I think the entire news system needs a bit of new structure and guidelines on how to operate. But the tricky part is social media needs structure and accountability in all this too. And that’s probably not gonna happen in our lifetimes if ever. Good reporters are actually punished for ethical reporting because it won’t generate the same clicks/views as others.
-
That’s how it’s supposed to work though. JJ’s buddy is told “is this on the record” if he says yes you tweet away and put his name on it. He says no and you don’t. In the older days you didn’t have to attach your sources name but your source was supposed to be verified. Today there’s literally nothing in place at all. There is no longer structure to the news. Anyone can basically state their opinions as fact and even write it up in a way to sound as fact. They just have to add anonymous sources told me.
-
I don’t see that as a problem. Does every little snippet need to be scooped? Not to veer too far off topic but there needs to be accountability in all journalism. In the age of social media and fast breaking news journalists and news stations need to be held accountable for what news they share. Instead they can tweet whatever they want and add anonymous sources to it and boom it’s factual news. That ain’t right.
-
I think all journalists should have to attach names to a story. When opinions are told as facts it gets a little murky.
-
Yay another story with “sources” and no names attached. So Mary Kay was bored and needed some clicks today basically

Let Henry miss a few weeks with an injury and they’d be in huge trouble. Tannehill is all play action and if that ain’t working he ain’t working. He’s played at a really high level at times there but it’s based on what he’s getting because teams are scared of Henry.
-
I compare him to Lamar. He’s fantastic (MVP level) when the run game dominates and they have a lead. Every success he has in Tennessee is based of henry rather its the play action or read option. However put him behind 10 points and it’s game over when teams know he has to throw he can’t make plays.
-
That’s very sad news. I seem to remember him being a star OFF the field as well as on. RIP young man
-
Did you know watt has 5 career touchdowns? Same amount as Knox? Watt can rush the passer and sub in for Knox too. Dual threat
-
Look at his previous years when things weren’t terrible in Philly. He was a target monster. They’ve peppered him over the years with targets. I don’t think he’s anything special. Knox deserves some competition and if Ertz hits free agency I wouldn’t be upset if they made him a reasonable offer. I don’t think it changes anything with our offense or makes us much better though. I’d be shocked if he caught 3 passes a game here or was featured in our game plans
