Spotrac: freeing up cap space for Bills
Rc2catch replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t have a problem with him. I do think their plan was to pay him more last season expecting it to be his last here. Otherwise it didn’t make a ton of sense to rework his contract last offseason. They didn’t know or count on him opting out and his structure pushing a season. Either way he’s gonna be here this season there’s no way around that rather it’s good or bad we shall see. -

Ummmm ok not sure when I was running him out of town, but they structured his deal last year to have an easier out this year. -

I think they redid his deal last offseason expecting he could be cut this offseason. However the opt out kinda screwed the pooch on that idea. -
BR worst free agent signing of 2020
Rc2catch replied to Orlando Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kinda silly. Basically every edge and defensive line player busted from free agency last offseason. Lawson and Phillips included. Addison at least had some production vs all the guys who had almost none or ended up hurt non stop. -
Offseason Primer Position Group: WR/TE
Rc2catch replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Khalif Raymond come on down. Will be dirt cheap, can return and play mckenzies role on offense too and is faster. He a small guy but Tennessee almost never used him as they don’t run too many receivers at all out there. He would be a under the radar cheap signing with a lot of potential. -
Trai Turner (RG) -- Daryl Williams Pt. 2
Rc2catch replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No probably not. But there’s going to be a ton of options out there. No need to rush and certainly no reason to trade. Teams are going to get some real bargain contracts with players needing jobs. -
Trai Turner (RG) -- Daryl Williams Pt. 2
Rc2catch replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Given what’s going on with the cap I’d rather target Incognito at a fraction of the price. We wanted to get meaner in the run game right? Turners a good player, I was shocked carolina traded him for the older Okung. If Beane could sign him at a bargain I’m all for it but I think he’ll still get another nice payday -
Jerry Hughes restructuring? Rumor...
Rc2catch replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can’t deny that. Like I said I’m a fan of his, I think he takes more abuse than any end I’ve watched play with the refs allowing it. -
Jerry Hughes restructuring? Rumor...
Rc2catch replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A hurry doesn’t carry the value it once did. For years jerry would speed rush the left tackle and run 3 yards past the quarterback allowing them to easily step up in the void his rush created while he tried to come from behind. That counts as a hurry for forcing them out but in reality they have a wide open window to throw and zero actual pressure most of the times. The last couple years he seems to be trying to rely less on speed and power rush more. I have no issue with Hughes game we all recognize he’s on the decline though. I don’t think we would see a horrible drop off in production running Epenesa, Johnson, a free agent and a rookie from the defensive end spots. Edge is a young mans game. At the end of the day sacks, hits, and turnovers are the key stats if the defensive line is playing at an elite level. We can be #1 in hurries all day long but that don’t mean much if those hurries are completed passes. -
Jerry Hughes restructuring? Rumor...
Rc2catch replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Jerry, and he’s obviously our best end. However I’d still like to move on. I’ve said repeatedly the refs hate that dude. He is not as athletic as he once was and the refs allow him to be held like nobody I’ve ever seen before. So now his speed doesn’t negate the holding like it used to. Could just be my bias but I’ve seen the refs straight abuse Hughes for years now. -

What About Watson for Jag's No. 1 Pick?
Rc2catch replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why on earth would Houston want to face Watson twice a year for the next decade? Imagine they David carr poor Lawrence and then have to get smoked by Watson for the foreseeable future. Might as well send the Texans to the XFL. That would be like extending Allen then trading him to New England for a #1 cause he was unhappy. -
Eagles submit rules change to onside kick
Rc2catch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m in favor of a change, but it’s not as simple as 4th and 15 boom. As mentioned pass interference is going to be HUGE in that situation. They would 100% have to add in a review for any and all calls in that one specific instance. In a time where fans question if the fix is in quite a bit and blame officiating it’s probably bad for the game to narrow so many games down to the refs. I think it’s best to go to the old onside kick rules and try and eliminate ref whistles deciding games as much as possible -
If/When we sign a FA TE, who's most likely
Rc2catch replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t think they’ll throw the kinda cash it’ll take to get most of those guys. Jordan Reed might be the best shot cause of his injury history he’s not gonna get a great contract. Maybe Cook after he had a rough time in New Orleans. Everyone else is probably getting a decent deal. The only real shot is if someone wants to play here and is willing to take less or a prove it deal. I can’t see Beane throwing 5-7 million at most of those guys. Not that they aren’t worth it but just not sure it’s a priority with where the team is at. -
Free Agents We Should Be Looking At
Rc2catch replied to wagne591's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tennessee plays hard. His players give 100% that’s part of the reason they’ve been successful with lesser talent than some other teams. I’m not a big Vrabel fan but the guy gets the most from his players. -
Free Agents We Should Be Looking At
Rc2catch replied to wagne591's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So we expect our coaches to get more from clowney than Vrabel? Say what you will about Tennessee but those boys play hard for that staff. Why would we be different? Clowney is done. He’s never going to be what people think he’s capable of. At best you might get 2-3 games a year from him at a high level. Then he’s playing hurt or missing games the rest of the year. Suh and David and Godwin and others will probably take a couple bucks less on one year deals to run it back with Tampa. -
So do a Diggs type deal this year for a DE?
Rc2catch replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would be floating that 1st rounder or 2nd for someone like Fletcher Cox, I would consider targeting Cameron Jordan in New Orleans. Not everyone has to cost a first rounder though. Normally I’d like to target teams hurting with the cap but it seems a lot of teams will be hurting this year. Not a lot of seller teams right now though I don’t think. I thought Denver had the best steal last offseason grabbing Jurrel Casey from Tennessee for like a 7th. Guy is a monster he just got hurt early. I also realize I’m not targeting purely edge guys, I think more pressure up the middle is key to this defense. If the price was right I’d go get Cox, sign short and Casey to pair them all with 91. -
He seems to catch some hate but I think it’s a genius move on his part. Arizona has a pretty darn good defense and he’ll obviously improve it. They got the money and I don’t think it’s hurt their chances at adding more pieces. Let’s not forget the path to the Super Bowl is waaaaaaaay easier coming from the NFC.

At first I was kinda angry this was taking so long and he was having so much fun with it. But after thinking he’s really earned the right. He’s never been a free agent. It’s a dead time for the whole league. Gotta be fun getting the attention and this little guessing game with hints and stuff on his Twitter and the fans theories. Wherever he goes I’ve enjoyed the jokes along the way

Thoughts on Curtis Samuel

I like the player but wouldn’t like the signing here. That is a lot of money invested into 3 receivers -
Re-sign or “wave good-bye” series: Player 8 - TJ Yeldon
Rc2catch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lol there is zero chance Yeldon would want to come back. He was paid nicely to basically practice for two years. I’m sure he would like to sign and would likely take less money to go to a team who actually would let him play. When your coach would rather run frank gore 1 yard at a time over activating you, you probably don’t want to stay on that team. Yeldon is not elite, he’s probably not starter caliber, but we completely wasted two seasons of his career where he could of been productive somewhere else and boosted his value some.
