1st Half Thread - Bills @ Chiefs 2022 Divisional Round Playoffs
Rc2catch replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I haven’t commented in a long time but great start. Hope everyone enjoys the game and we play this hungry and aggressive on defense too -
We obviously want to see him perform well. But let’s be completely honest here……… We need Dane to play at Levis level right now and that’s enough to ask of him.
-
I think we promote from the practice squad or poach someone. I think they’d prefer a young inexperienced guy they can coach up opposed to some vet who has washed out in multiple places and schemes.

11/25/21 Thanksgiving Gameday Bills at Saints Pregame Thread
Rc2catch replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well here’s to hoping we put Breida in a McKenzie gadget kinda role with an occasional traditional rush attempt -
Lil Dirty - Benched (update - He’s back and better than ever)

CRAZY…. -
Should of fired him at halftime last night. Daniel Jones has very brief flashes of playing decent but he should not be a starter next year. Giants should be ready to clean house at the end of the year and go all in for their next quarterback whoever that may be.
-
Daniel Jones should not be the starting quarterback for that team next year. Jason Garrett isn’t doing him any favors but Jones just looks lost more often than not.
-
We had the same issue years ago when we signed Kroft, we overpaid knowing his injury history cause Beane wanted to make sure we had a tight end with potential to break out. Then we snagged Knox and Sweeney and never needed to pay Kroft that kinda money.

If they show half the fight and emotion they did against Dallas in the previous thanksgiving game I like this matchup.

It’s 100% on the coaching. I think Mcdermott is a great coach. I expected so much more from Daboll this year though. Adding sanders and Breida to what we already had there’s no excuses other than scheme and play call why this offense is sputtering so badly. Injuries or not the offense has not looked overly good all year long even in games we are playing really good. There are weaknesses and injuries and all teams have those. The good coaches scheme to help cover those issues. The defense had a bad game, their worst of the season. But they’ve played how the coaches have wanted imo outside of today and maybe Tennessee.

Yeah it’s been a disappointing run. I was concerned even when we were hot cause I felt like the offense has been out of sync all year. I never thought it would get this bad though. In each of these games I didn’t really ever get to panicky cause it just felt like the switch would turn on at some point and they’d get fired up and play with some emotion. (3rd quarter today I did know it was over though) I fully expected at minimum 3-1 out of that division.

Does anyone know why Josh does not wear glove?
Rc2catch replied to shane nelson's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m not sure if the gloves would of helped today. Maybe if he dropped one on the field and Taylor slipped on it. -
Even if they fully collapse and miss the playoffs this year he’s not even close to climbing on the hot seat.
-
Am I sensing a little sarcasm?? 7 games is a LOT when it comes to seeding. It’ll be ok.
-
I think they still have as good a shot as anyone. I probably won’t be too active on here cause it’s pretty bad after a loss. But I will go on record that I think the talent is still there to make a significant run and Buffalo has the potential to play with anyone in the league. Today of course they didn’t look that way.
-
It’s a trendy league. More so than ever this year. We are not the same team from last season. But I’m not quite ready to throw in the towel. I’ve said before I can handle the struggles now if some of this is fixed in enough time to make a playoff push.

I get the hatred for New England but sometimes it’s nice to take the homer shades off. They were not expected to be super competitive, we all laughed and laughed when they spent their free agent money how it wasn’t gonna work that well. Well here they are, they have as good a shot as anyone. The media is always going to hype the hotter teams up. Look at all the press cam Newton got for a one yard rushing touchdown and a one yard passing touchdown
-
Congrats to him. We can joke it’s the jets but a promotion is still a promotion. Sometimes you just need someone to give you the opportunity

I think we’ll see Beasley and a few others gone. It’s an age vs salary kinda thing. We have seen players take team friendly deals, I’m sure if Beasley was fine taking a one year deal at a lower rate he’d be back. We could easily see 6-7 vets cut or not re signed. Jerry, Beasley, sanders, Addison, Klein, star to name a few possibilities. One of the reasons it’s important to get that ring this year. We won’t be rebuilding for a long time hopefully but we will have an influx of youth and lower tiered free agents that need coached up. It’s the key to staying relevant when that quarterback money kicks in.

Beast Mode will be the Bills Legend of the game this Sunday
Rc2catch replied to OrtonHearsaWho's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t think his ties to buffalo are worth mentioning. He wasn’t a legend here outside off the field stuff. Almost all fans who aren’t Bills fans don’t even remember he played here a short time -
Poor roster decisions still an issue with this regime
Rc2catch replied to FilthyBeast's topic in The Stadium Wall
Obada is much better from the DT spot. Almost all his sacks in Carolina came from playing inside. He got worked in the Tennessee game playing end and was a huge liability. Breida earned some future snaps yesterday. He’s a scheme specific gadget guy and should not totally be counted as a runner. Davis also earned some more snaps imo. Klein is depth and special teams. That’s all. He doesn’t need to be worked in to what’s already been working quite well this year. Punters don’t grow on trees, easy to say he’s replaceable without offering his replacement. What’s more likely? His punting costs us a game or a new punter can’t hold as well and bass costs us a game? Can they hold for bass (the leagues best kicker). Silly thing to use in defense of some poor punting but it does matter -
I’ve been kinda whining the last few weeks about it quite a bit. It’s the main difference I see from last year to this, not just in the offense but the key to me is the pass blocking. That extra second the defenders have to wait to see if the ball is actually handed off might be the extra second Josh needs to avoid pressure or get the ball away clean. McKenzie is definitely not the only guy capable of doing it. And if we don’t want to use Diggs or sanders the next logical choice to me is Breida. They used him similarly in the preseason
