I don’t think mcdermott is too safe at all mostly. If the offense executes and plays well he shows he’ll be aggressive. But he refuses to take chances of swinging the momentum to the other team. Should they have ran 3 straight times, no of course not. He has shown he does not trust Allen to make plays in critical situations to put the game away. Maybe that’s a bad thing. He only trusts Allen when he has no choice and yes Allen is coming through most of the time. I can see why he’s not aggressive in situations where Allen may force a turnover or the line is going to get penalized cause they’re struggling blocking. And I can see why he trusts his defense to get a stop even on a day like today when they are not playing their best. Some are calling him gutless, but those same people freak out if we don’t feed singletary, would absolutely freak out if instead of a first down run after they got the lead they threw it and Allen got sacked and fumbled. People are going to nitpick and overreact no matter how he plays it. When Mcdermott challenges he’s stupid for wasting a timeout on an unwinnable challenge. When he doesn’t challenge like the 4th down patriot run today he’s dumb, when there is zero chance they overturn that call. When the side view does not show the ball and the runners knee they are staying with the call on the field 100% of the time. It’s a no win situation and there’s probably 20 other fan bases who would KILL to have our current setup and structure

Why We Will Struggle in the Playoffs
Rc2catch replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Win as a team, lose as a team. It’s that simple. They lost as a team today. If everyone wants to argue over who is more to blame I’ll enjoy the hot takes lol But there’s 4 ways it can go tonight. Allen Daboll Offensive line Defense maybe 5 cause we want to blame officials too crap 6 now cause ya know duke.. -
This stuff makes us as bills fans look bad. There was crappy calls. Just like every single game in the league. The bills lost the game. Pats do it to us everytime. They play smart and allow us to mess up. Bills had every chance in the world to win that game. Defense with the fumble on the opening drive, momentum.. and the team laid an egg almost the entire rest of the half. Don’t blame the refs, good teams overcome bad officiating in 99% of the cases.

I have a hard time blaming daboll. He is sketchy sometimes and a little too cute on his plays occasionally. But we don’t execute. If you want aggressive offensive play calling the offense needs to execute the little stuff. Sometimes they just can’t. Allen misses throws. Offensive line misses blocks. Receivers drop balls. They have no rhythm. When they execute and play well you see games like Dallas where we look good. I am sure they could upgrade coordinator but it’s hard to keep putting the blame on him. If Allen hits those two touchdowns this thread isn’t here.

Why did they get away from the slant?
Rc2catch replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably scared Gilmore would tackle the receiver at the line and Chung would pick 6 it -
I don’t get it. Weeks past we’re dropping balls and duke is sure handed. Ok that is a fair point. Tonight, what did they need duke for? Allen missed two touchdowns to Knox. Is duke making those catches? Shaquille O’Neal in his prime isn’t making those catches. This game has zero to do with duke, or the receivers. Daboll had some bad calls, Allen missed throws, and the defense played soft and missed tackles. Sorry duke is not the difference between winning and losing today. This team had every chance to win. They did not execute.

Josh makes hard throws, misses easy ones
Rc2catch replied to Rockee96's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’ve been down on him for weeks, but I do not agree his accuracy cannot improve. It’s been pointed out a million times his footwork is a big deal. It’s not natural to him to set his feet yet when he throws. From last year to this year his decision making is light years better. I expect the footwork to improve. Waaaaaaay to early to give up on him. He has not peaked. Just my two cents but his biggest problem is trying to make too many big plays. Sometimes the check down is ok. Checking it down helps him stay in rhythm completing passes. -
Do we rest the starters next week?
Rc2catch replied to bills6969's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m torn. Smart move is probably to sit as many starters as possible to avoid injuries. At the same time I can see reasons to trot the offense back out there to keep working on things. Allen is not a seasoned vet, kinda want him to play and keep slinging it. Every week he is making adjustments from the previous game. Jets play kinda dirty so maybe not so smart to risk any injuries. Tough call for me. -
Bills hung in there. The offensive inconsistency is the difference in the game. Allen hits some of the hardest throws and makes them look easy. But his ability to overshoot guys non stop is just killing the offense. We didn’t let him down today, guys were not dropping easy passes. Hard fought game, buffalo is their own worst enemy.

He missed Knox two times wide open in the end zone. There’s your tall receiver. It was 5 feet over his head both times. Duke can’t catch what he can’t get his hands on.

20 points is the key to victory tomorrow

I just wanted to say thank you to Allen and brown, love seeing #1 corner Gilmore looking dazed and confused out there -
The replay does not show much. They never in a million years would of reversed that call. Whatever they ruled on the field either way was staying. He was short. The overhead shows he never made it past the original line. But seriously you guys know better, they are not going to overturn that without the side view of his knee being down and vision of the ball.
