  1. Lol I can’t even respond in a serious manner. Congrats you won dumbest post of the day
  2. They’re in the playoffs. Boom championship caliber. They now have a chance to win the championship. Lots of teams do not. Does anyone see a reason barring key injuries why this team isn’t going to be in the hunt for the playoffs in the next few years? Young, talented, and not close to hitting full potential yet, that would be the definition of championship caliber to me. Are they going to be favorites to make it? Probably not unless they make a serious run the next few weeks. Who cares though? Enjoy the ride. We may be the sexy pick next year because nobody expects us to get worse we should only get better
  3. Not saying Winston is as good as luck of course but I don’t think the Bucs would be any better if he came out of retirement. If he did, the Colts are a way better situation. Bucs just cannot run the ball. It’s been years and a ton of different backs but they just can’t run. In the “no defense” division I like to call it everyone can run when they need to but the Bucs. They should keep Winston one more year and just build the heck out of their run game.
  4. Tricky tricky.. Bait and then set the hook...
  5. Lol did you really call me a patriot fan? Seriously.. Everyone gets bad calls, sometimes the patriots do too. Surely not as much as lower tiered teams though
  6. That’s what I’ve always said. Good teams overcome officiating. Our conspiracy theorists think everyone is out to get us. Maybe they only watch bills games or are just paranoid but even the bad calls we’ve gotten this year is rampant throughout the entire league it’s not just us.
  7. Yeldon doesn’t even have to touch the ball to change quite a bit in the game. You can literally line him up back there and fake a screen his way (oh crap we can’t do screens) and actually throw it to Knox on the other side and the defense will bite like crazy on it. I don’t care what they do for the most part. I would of liked to see Sweeney more this year. The difference in blocking between him and smith can’t be that far off especially when you factor in smiths penalties. Our top 3 are still the top 3 and if they get locked down more than likely we lose regardless. But I would love to see more formations. Don’t totally care what they run but dang something different. Yeldon in the backfield is an auto pass for opposing defenses. IF we could run screens or even the wonderful jet sweep I would expect success. Duke yes I said DUKE on one side with smoke Beasley and Knox on the other should create mismatches. Houston has obviously watched our tape. We’ve been running the same stuff all year. Rarely have we sustained success running it. ( that’s on everyone from coaches coordinators allll the way down to DiMarco) But change things up. Even if we’re running the same plays just out of new formations Houston would be caught totally off guard. Come on daboll you’re coaching for the Cleveland job this weekend pretend like you really really want it.
  8. We may have Alexander’s replacement already partially anyways with Vosean. He seems forgotten. Nobody is gonna play linebacker, edge rusher and special teams probably though. I really like the Joseph pick as far as fitting into this defense. Murphy is easy to let go, but I hope it doesn’t happen until preseason ends. They should either have additions in free agency and draft and be sure they’ll be ready to play well enough and don’t get injured before letting Murphy go or possibly even trading him which I think is missed amongst all the cut talk. Ol Trent might not have any value to us fans, but some team strapped for cash who doesn’t get to participate much in free agency then maybe misses out on an end in the draft may be willing to take him for a 4th or 5th round pick in preseason. If Beane can get a draft pick for fricken Marshall Newhouse I gotta think he can get a bite on Murphy who (knock on wood) stayed healthy this year.
  9. I would say it has to do mainly with corners not being allowed to do anything or be physical. Back in the day there was a lot more tugging and hands on coverage not to mention no emphasis on pass interference and obviously no replay challenges. Lot of other factors but playing secondary is possibly the hardest job in the NFL right now. Have to worry about all these crazy pick plays, have to get your head around or it’s auto penalty, can’t hit high, you go low and they hurdle you.. There’s really a lot of crazy restrictions, and the receiver always has the advantage of knowing his route and the timing etc etc.
  10. I like the baseball idea. December call ups. I am not against not allowing 53 active most of the season. But come December teams out of the playoffs want to audition young talent to see if they get a future/reserve contract and teams with locked up playoff seeding don’t want to play their important players. I’m sure there’s a mixture of December bumping rosters to 57 (in honor of Lorax) and letting 53 active or whatever formula works best. 57 is just a random number I don’t know what would work. I don’t get too bothered teams can’t have all 53 active because it does create strategy and also tries to keep some form of a level playing field. Hate to see teams be too fully loaded for game days. Imagine Drew Brees or Mahomes with 8 receivers to rotate in all game long with fresh legs. Yikes. Or Baltimore with 8 tight ends (another poor joke)
  11. Just wow.. They are such a mess. The entire team from the top apparently all the way down to the reporters. I enjoy it, but holy drama Batman
  12. Clearly you should have the job. You know how an offense is supposed to be done.
  13. I think it’s unlikely as well. This staff seems to have unlocked something in Lawson maybe he didn’t know he had. The Baltimore game sealed the deal for me. By far the best game I’ve seen from shaq. He was so disciplined. There were a few plays the ravens played their little misdirection behind the line and boom shaq was just chilling there staying in his spot waiting. Totally killed a few plays just by being disciplined. I think this team owes it to him to pay him. Nothing ridiculous but a fair market value. This is the first player homegrown, up for a deal, they need to set the example and reward someone for buying all in to “the process” I don’t worry about him slacking after a payday. Those guys on defense hold each other accountable. The rotation has been successful even with Murphy eating a lot of snaps. One more guy with a pass rush into that rotation they’ll be pretty lights out
  14. Better than shaq or just faster? I’m being honest I have not watched the jags since their playoff push years ago. But I did go stat browsing and this guys numbers just don’t seem impressive. Sacks against bad teams. Not a lot of QB hits. Is he getting pressures that don’t show up on his stat sheets? Cause his numbers look on the decline the last couple years. What’s his guarantee gonna look like? 70 million? Is he popular on here cause he’s considered the top guy available so we have to have him like when clowney was up for trade?
  15. His son is actually offensive coordinator for Carolina right now while norv is like assistant to the coach or some random title. After Rivera was fired I think his son took over to practice as a coordinator in game situations. Norv comes here we will learn the screen game that’s for sure
  16. What exactly has yannick done to be considered the disruptive force this team is missing or a big time player? Same for Clowney who has been quite ugly and disappears in Seattle. This yannick guy is not a bad player by any means but he’s not an elite pass rusher. I don’t see the upgrade he provides over shaq and his snap count will not be as high here with the rotations on the line meaning his numbers are probably going down some. Im not advocating for not signing him or even signing him I just don’t see what the fuss is about. His numbers aren’t that great.
  17. Daboll is pretty hated lately.. But the grass isn’t always greener. Those begging for him to be gone may be even angrier if we end up with someone worse. Yes there’s a lot of worse coordinators and we’re not getting first dibs on interviews either. Coaches are putting together staffs as we speak and if daboll leaves after the playoffs we could end up with some really questionable candidates. Daboll may be holding Allen back, but he is not regressing (looking at you baker/kitchens) Could easily end up with a coordinator that not only stunts Allen’s growth but blows his confidence and causes regression and doubt in his game.
  18. Everyone over pays in free agency. But I think we can put the “nobody wants to play if buffalo” saying to rest finally. We have a team that players will want to play for now
  19. Yeah it’s like cutting just for the sake of cutting. No real advantage gained from it. The following offseason though the savings could actually make a nice impact. I felt the same for Hughes.
  20. We can say a lot about Star, but the guy is durable. Might be worth the price just to know there’s a healthy guy around who knows the defense and can play when needed (at what level has been debated to the end of the earth and back) Id hate to change too much or have too much turnover. What’s the worst case? Harrison Phillips is back at full strength and maybe Star is inactive?
  21. Happy that we actually have one of the possible up and coming replacements. Allen has the tools to be a mvp caliber guy, we shall see if he can put those tools together. Glad we’re not Washington or Tampa or one of those teams in weird situations.
  22. Lol Barkley was the man??? Right? Last season he was a hero, he was called for in multiple game day threads this year. Now he sucks ?? I say go sign Kyle Allen from Carolina. They have Grier and will be heavily in the market for a quarterback if they trade cam. The Allen/Allen combo will save the announcers from messing up the names. I do like the kid though. He’s an ideal kinda backup guy.
  23. If this poll was taken that season the results would definitely be different. Similar to duke that season we needed a big bodied guy who could go up and get it. While Benjamin has red flags all over who else could they have landed that was a former first round pick, and had a ridiculously good rookie year and coming off injuries? Before all you arm chair gm’s bash it who else were you going to get mid season for a 3rd rounder? We were supposed to be like 3-13 bad and were fighting for a wild card and grossly over performing our talent level. It was a great trade. It didn’t work out and Benjamin basically quit playing football because he didn’t have the work ethic needed to sustain a career.
  24. I know daboll is the hated flavor of the week for say almost all season, but I would expect he may be a successful head coach. He may not be the best coordinator but that doesn’t always mean you’ll be bad as a head coach. Interesting to see
  25. I would fully agree. I don’t want to scroll through all that mess for breaking news.
