Playoff #1 PreGame Thread. Bills @ Texans
Rc2catch replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Which one were you on? The one I visited they were not excited for this game at all. There was talk of preferring AJ to start for them lol and they really really hate their coach. Consensus was if they don’t use duke Johnson in the pass game and Fuller is out they have no shot of winning. I thought we were miserable but I never could of guessed they were a playoff team based on what I was reading -

The love fest is kinda annoying. I don’t care if they give Houston some props but at least shine the guys who actually got them there this season -

I always look at it expecting the first 3 quarters don’t matter. This team finds a way to hang in games. Makes my nerves much easier I don’t get too high or too low. As ugly as we’ve been some of these first halfs this year they’re hanging in until the 4th. -

I could only imagine the meltdown of social media if the Pats, Ravens and Chiefs were all eliminated. -

Oh man you were being serious ?♂️ -
And that’s why McKenzie stays active, to play corner if they get hurt. Versatility!!!! (Sarcasm in case anyone thinks I’m being overly serious)

Hmmmmm... Might want to check the playoff bracket. Gonna be like what 3 weeks before Tre plays Tannehill? -
I do wish for his success. But I cannot lie I low key hate his guts through no fault of his own because of the non stop threads on him hourly/daily/weekly. Id love for him to be a good contributor for the team but in the back of my head all I can think of is 500 more “I told you so” threads to the coaching staff from all our genius GM’s on here ???

Surprise player of the game

Oh stop, a lot of those 2 yarders are 2 yards others can’t get. Don’t act like it’s all on Gore. He’s older and about washed up but if there’s no room to run there’s no room to run. Don’t act like he’s sooooo slow and old he can’t get yardage up the middle. To add further this is probably his last run at a ring so you know the guy is going to give any and everything he’s got. -
NFL Attendance Hits a 15-Year Low
Rc2catch replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Keep moving teams all over the place and of course people won’t show. Do the Rams or Chargers even have fans? The Raiders getting moved, AGAIN.. Florida teams all suck.. AGAIN.. Both New York teams suck.. AGAIN..Washington was terrible. Those are supposed to be huge markets and when the teams suck not as many are interested. I was never a fan of going to games, I almost always had a bad experience. The 4-5 games I went to in buffalo the drunken fans were out on control. I remember the charger game when the power went out, and Phillip Rivers was throwing temper tantrums constantly over the play clock and stuff.. I took my two nephews for their first ever game. Don’t remember my seats but we were at an end zone, a semi obese man actually threw up on my 7 year old nephew. The guys in front of us stood up the entire game, my girl at the time asked them nicely if they could just scoot apart a little so my nephew could see something and they told her to F off. Very hard to bite my tongue in that situation but fighting in front of the kids wasn’t an option. So I told the boys stand up on your chairs to see. They did. The group behind us of course spilled beer all over the poor kids and their seats and you guessed it. Obese man next to us threw his arms up to cheer and knocked the poor kid off the chair. We left in the third quarter after security yelling at us for standing just past the steps. As weird as it is to say, Pittsburgh was by far and away the best live experience I’ve had. I wore my custom bills jersey and got tons of compliments. Fans were all cool and teased in a fun way. I’ve attended games in Cinci, Tennessee, Atlanta and went to my first panther game last year. Pittsburgh by leaps and bounds was the best for me. I think I’m retired now, as stated earlier 70 inch tv is for me. Warm and better food at home -
Grading Beane, McDermott, OC, DC, and JA

Me too. I can never tell I’m soooooo gullible -
This is one of those times looking at stats and not the games can be a joke. Yes he threw for 36 touchdowns. He’s under 30 if you takeaway the end of game running up the score touchdowns. Baltimore was pretty grimy at handing opposing teams their as*** and continuing to go full force running up the scores when the games were clearly over. Not a lot of teams do this. Some but not a lot. Lamar is the MVP this season. Zero doubts for me. Some of his stats are a joke though. Don’t get me wrong, they were unstoppable and what he’s done is ridiculous on lots of levels. But his stats are extremely padded. We have all watched a lot of football, when teams are losing 28-3 at halftime they know it’s over 99% of the time and mail it in trying to stay healthy and get to the next game. Patriots used to pad tommy boys stats a lot too. Ravens were a grimy team this year running up scores. Few weeks ago against the Jets they were killing them in the 3rd quarter and the game was over. They trotted Lamar out there for I think 3 more drives and risked injury to get him more touchdowns. He deserves his credit for being MVP and proving many people including myself wrong that he couldn’t make all the throws. I’m still not sold this is sustainable and I would like to see if he can dominate next season or even in the playoffs when things are turned up a notch. But I can’t stand when people throw out these stats like gospel. Ravens were winning from the get go almost every game this season and were in cruise control most games. This isn’t like Mahomes last year whose defense was trash and he had to throw non stop in shootouts to keep games close and win. Lamar shouldn’t be penalized for his team winning but his stats don’t tell the whole story either.

Lol I’m not sure he’s capable of taking that spot. But he is possibly a Milano replacement if they were to let him walk at a later date. Not what I want, just looks to be the role Joseph would fit on this defense. Wow you? You have extremely high expectations. -

You forgot probably the best signing he made in Feliciano. Not splashy but a no doubt homerun. Just my 2 cents but he’s the nasty that really gets that line going. And Vosean just hiding away on IR as the forgotten man possibly making an impact next year. As fans we wanted a lot of shiny toys last offseason and we had no clue what he actually bought us. -

You graded Beane a B- over the offense he assembled?? He is a gm of the year candidate based mostly off of the offense he assembled in one offseason really. He hit homeruns on almost every signing and draft pick. They built an offensive line with 4 new players and depth. Not in love with Beasley and Smoke? Why? What more did you want to see from them? Besides coles few drops he’s been amazing. There are not many, if any success stories for an offense similar to what Beane just accomplished this season adding this many players on offense. I won’t worry about grades for the others until I see what they do for the postseason, because honestly a good showing changes everyone else’s grades. But Beane deserves an A or an A+ without a doubt regardless of the postseason. -
Doesn't look like Levi is gonna play
Rc2catch replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am not as down as so many are on Levi. All the “he sucks” talk you guys saying that should be ashamed. He is a serviceable corner and undrafted for a reason. His play has far exceeded what anyone thought. All the bashing on him and we could of been soooooooo much worse off putting someone else out there. Back to the point, I like Kevin Johnson getting a chance to play this game. What better way to stick it to your old team who labeled you a busted pick than to have a big game and eliminate them from the playoffs. -
Smoke vs Hopkins stats this year
Rc2catch replied to Da webster guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well said. I’d like to add Hopkins can literally put the team on his back at times and dominate defenses when they are behind and catch anything in his area. We don’t pepper brown with targets non stop but I don’t think he has that ability. -
Hopkins is going to get his, but I don’t think he can’t takeover the game with Tre covering. So you have to eliminate the other guys. The obvious is stopping the run, I don’t want to see a ton of blitzing cause that’s how Watson kills you moving around. A similar contain to what they used against Lamar and Baltimore. Shaq and Murphy out there on the edges not fully rushing the passer waiting for him to move their way and the boys in the middle blowing the line up. The offense has to be able to run, and they need to limit pressure from Watt and Mercilus. I have said in weeks past in big games I would like to see some Allen hero ball. Be unpredictable, run, throw on the run, take a couple risks, but in the end I fully believe if Allen has an accurate game this team can beat anyone. His inaccuracies to me are what kills the offense. They never seem to sustain momentum on offense. That’s on everyone. Terrible ball placement, drops, lapses on the O line, and sometimes penalties. Even with all that I would rather see the drops than just throws where they can’t even make a play on the ball. Houston is a defense that is going to give up slants and curls all game long. And if the offense pass blocks at a high level Allen’s favorite 15-25 yarders will be open all game. Im not jumping ship or having a miserable offseason bashing the team if they can’t win or suck at certain phases, but now is the time. These guys can put a real stamp on the league and let everyone know buffalo is here for the long haul. We don’t have “stars” but they sure as hell have the chance to create a few this postseason. Legends are made this time of year.
-
I have to have some belief they slow played things a little since Dallas. We ran a completely different style offense in the preseason and even to start the firstJets game. That’s still in there somewhere they didn’t just eliminate it from the playbook. I expect (and that’s just my opinion) that daboll has some variations of this stuff he’s been doing saved just for these playoffs. Why waste them and put them on film? We can argue if they went all out and got the 2 seed or were content holding the 5 spot but only they’ll ever know. I expect this team to pull out any and everything in the arsenal for the playoffs. I expect the defense to blitz in key situations and basically just play contain on Watson most of the time similar to how they played Baltimore.
-
Doesn’t he have all kinds of health issues? Seems he establishes a program, then gets super sick when times get rough and has to step away. Or maybe I’m thinking of someone else
-
You are talking about dumping mcdermott who has made the playoffs 2 out of 3 years, and hasn’t even played the game yet this year. Everyone who has “been there” at one time had not. The more Allen grows the better everyone looks. I just can’t fathom at this point even thinking about needing a coaching change. By your logic Kansas City should fire Andy Reid cause he can’t get his teams over the hump And thanks for editing in your little sly remark later ?
