That’s my vote. Hate the pats regardless. And wherever Brady ends up I no longer can like either.

2020 NFL Free Agent Preview
Rc2catch replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dupree is never walking out of Pittsburgh. Judon ain’t leaving Baltimore. I am no fan of Robbie Anderson. He’s a magician. Disappears for half the games a year. Daryl Williams is an injured mess. As is Bulaga. And Conklin lol. So basically you just want the top free agents available for each position? Easy to work the top guys in. Scout better. Find the gems in the middle area so it can at least be realistic. Each team is lucky to get ONE of those guys with the competition from other bidding teams. I never understood why guys research this stuff so early. It’s completely possible more than half these guys are franchised or resigned before free agency even begins. -
Oh yeah I’m with you on that 100%

Baldy's Breakdown of Singletary vs. Texans

Absolutely. The pricing and value of rookie running backs every team should want 1 main guy with 2 others capable of stepping up -
Baldy's Breakdown of Singletary vs. Texans
Rc2catch replied to UB2SF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well I said 400 touches originally. But the way we use him he doesn’t get many touches receiving. So that’s why I later said 25 carries a game equaling 400 carries in a season. I think you’re missing the point, he needs to be in some form on committee if you want him to stay effective in the future. It’s not about what he can do, it’s about sustaining it. Young guys who receive too much volume fade fast. There’s success stories of course but many more failure stories. So ideally you would want Devin in a committee with 1-2 other effective backs. Keeps everyone fresh and healthy and gives the team the option to ride the hot hand when someone has a bad game. -

Hey it’s whatever floats your boat. But look what happen to most of these high usage backs. David Johnson, Gurley, Gordon, Lamar Miller, all high usage guys when they were fresh into the league and all injured and not as explosive after high volumed seasons -

I don’t think it’s wise for any running back to get more than 400 touches in a season. They burn out too fast that way. 25 touches a game isn’t bad if used in the passing game. We don’t use him much in the pass game. 25 runs is 400 carries in a season. Guys are never quite the same with those kinds of workloads in today’s nfl -
Spain was generally the cause of some of those free rushers coming through IMO. There were quite a few plays Dawkins or Morse were overwhelmed or didn’t get to their guy in time because they were covering for Spain being slow off the snap and beaten badly. They helped for a moment and would end up losing their own guy . He’s a fantastic run guy but nowhere near as solid against the pass. It’s just that first move he struggles with. I’m pretty sure Spain was always going to be a one year guy here, it was win win for him and the team. He filled the void and boosted his value quite a bit.

Baldy's Breakdown of Singletary vs. Texans
Rc2catch replied to UB2SF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Singletary is a shifty guy and gets the job done. I don’t think he’s capable of being a workhorse kinda back though. 25-30 touches a game might have him out of the league in 2-3 years the way we use him. I didn’t think he was capable of those really tough yards he’s getting and I’m 110% impressed with his rookie season. He has a really bright future so hopefully we get someone to compliment his game and can have a solid duo -
I am cool with all of that, minus giving yannick 100 million. We do need some pass rush but he is nowhere near 100 million dollar man. I know he can get that in free agency but yikes I hope it’s not us. His numbers outside of 2017 do not scream up and comer 20 million a year for me. I went through his stats this season and tried to rewatch some Jag games to see why he is so hyped on here. I can’t see it. He’s invisible in the games I looked at. (Denver, Atlanta, and Tampa were the only ones I could see most of) Im no professional evaluator but what I seen is a guy who screams off the edge and is mostly just pushed 5 yards past the pocket and struggles to ever make an inside move. Similar to Hughes of old if he can’t come all the way around to get the quarterback there’s a giant pocket created to step up into for the quarterback to throw unless the DT is penetrating in that area. I am hopeful of a draft pick to make a pass rushing impact. Just because he’s the top rated rusher doesn’t always mean it’s a good move. They know they have to address it and I expect they will. Maybe he’s the guy, just not someone I would personally target for that much

Roster turnover for playoff teams - ESPN
Rc2catch replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was an impressive job finding hidden talent and also not breaking the bank for solid contributors. I know we’re all disappointed with that ugly loss but the overhaul on the offensive side of the ball and the first year together is still a success despite the inconsistencies. Basically all of the signings and draft picks are contributors on this team not just this past season but for 2-3 seasons going forward. If Beane does it again this offseason and gets another 8-10 players who contribute or play higher than their expectations we will have another fun season to watch -
I have heard about enough duke talk to make me vomit. I like the guy but let’s please stop pretending he’s some hidden gem. I can’t believe nobody has a saviorduke username yet. He’s a serviceable receiver. He will more than likely be in the running for the 4th receiver spot next season. Let this poor guys name rest in the offseason.

If I’m correct he’s really fast. And loves contact. But he’s not a polished guy. So we’ll see him eaten up by blockers and be out of place a lot. Mcdermott can coach this guy up for sure. I don’t think he’ll get a shot to start anywhere in the near future but I think his athleticism alone is enough to keep him active. I don’t know his special teams capabilities and we know how important that is on this team so i would expect coaches would emphasize he work on that in order to have a shot at the team next season and being active. He has potential for sure.

Multiple Needs Fixed in One Shot: Pursue Taysom Hill
Rc2catch replied to MrEpsYtown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m in shock this is even posted. Taysum Hill is the most versatile weapon in the league, but let’s not act like he can go anywhere and do this. Payton has specifically worked this guy into the playbook in a lot of different variations. Brees and Payton have been together forever now and know their playbook inside and out and build on it constantly. You don’t just integrate a Taysum Hill into your offense. He’s not exactly plug and play. That’s a lot of design and practice to make it effective. We can’t even use all the guys we had this year. He wouldn’t be half the player away from New Orleans. -
If we add Yannick here is what our cap space my look like
Rc2catch replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reading the Houston message board before the game he was their number one free agent on the wish list. I was very impressed the homework they had done on him. More than just browsing his stat page. They knew a lot about him. They loved the idea of mixing him as a 3-4 outside rusher and 4-3 end in situations -
My Off-Season Primer: Position Group: RB
Rc2catch replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would pay him whatever he wants lol. As long as they can cut bait after 2-3 years no big deal. There’s not another player in the league capable of what he is. Him and motor and Allen together could set rushing records. I can’t see anyway Tennessee ever lets him leave after securing the rushing title and what he did to the Pats. Their fans would riot he’s the face of the franchise. -

I can say for sure shaqs numbers at 450+ snaps is quite great. Bump those snaps to 750+ and that’s big time elite level production. I’m the biggest shaq supporter on here probably but... Can he handle 750 snaps and stay healthy? Did they limit him this year to protect his health (didn’t help since he basically couldn’t go in Houston) Or did they want more from Murphy? Or liked shaq coming in to save the defense? I have mentioned before our defense being soft giving up that first drive most of the year. Then they settled down. Did they settle down cause shaq was coming in that second drive? I can also feel pretty confident in saying if Lawson was healthy there’s no way Watson is putting that team on his back marching down the field with those runs. -
The plan to replace Lorenzo Alexander?
Rc2catch replied to warrior9's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would hope Joseph gets a shot to play and they move Edmunds around more. With his burst he’s shown he can be a deadly pass rusher when given opportunities. If Joseph and Milano can cover back there Edmunds should be free to rush or cover or spy. I do expect a mid tier free agent or 2 or 3 depending what they do with our current guys. And of course our usually 4th or 5th round dart on another linebacker. I don’t think well be in the running for the popular guys people want though. -
This kind of stuff makes us all look a little silly. The refs suck. But the team lost that game. They had a million chances to take the refs out of it and just handle their business. They did not. Bad calls aside they didn’t deserve that win.

I don’t want any scenario not involving Lawson. Now if they offer him a fair deal and he chooses to leave for an over the top payday somewhere else I can’t be upset with anyone. But I think shaq is the first real test to retaining your players for these guys it’s important to set an example. You can’t just let him leave and allocate that money somewhere else. He’s earned a fair free agent market kind of raise in my opinion. I would like as many would some pass rushing talent brought into the rotation, but I wouldn’t let shaq walk away with no offer to do it. -
The Rooney Rule (still) isn’t working?
Rc2catch replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just my two cents. The rule was created to force interviews for a minority. However I’m not sure it’s fully meant to hire of course. It is good practice for some guys to go through the actual interview process and gain that experience which in turn may help them later to land a job. To be fair though there is not a ton of up and coming minority coaches. There’s a few but just not enough to make it more competitive. I could see backlash if there were clear cut better candidates just not being hired. The only minority I can think of off the top of my head this year would be the chiefs offensive coordinator but he’s absolutely not a clear cut above some that have been hired and of course coordinators in the playoffs tend to miss opportunities. Most teams don’t really want Marvin Lewis but he’s interviewing to fill the rule. Steven A is very over the top on race matters for me, you can’t force it on people. I’m all for raising awareness in aspects of race but he blabbers on sometimes and makes it very extreme that his race is neglected in many areas which I don’t always agree with. Almost trying to fire people up to cause drama as opposed to solutions to a problem -
McDermott and Beane End of Season press conferences 1/7
Rc2catch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey I fully agree we’re in need of impact players. Guys who make big plays. And Beane has proven one thing since being here, he’s unpredictable. I can’t even count since day one how many moves he’s made where I scratched my head between the trades and free agency. Looking back though I get it all now. There’s still only one move I question and that was cutting Jonathan Williams on his rookie deal. I didn’t think he was great or anything but it didn’t make sense to cut him. I still don’t get that. He was practice squad eligible and we ran Tolbert, Taiwan and Banyard I think that year. I have zero doubts these guys will find us some impactful players rather it’s trade, draft or free agency. I expect a great pass rusher and receiver and a complimentary back. Everyone knows we need it. He’ll find it.
