I would give Henry the big money. Beane works his wizardry and leaves an out after 2 years, sure pay him. But he’s never getting out of Tennessee. Melvin Gordon is the kind of player you definitely don’t pay. More than likely you may find similar players to Carlos Hyde after the draft just floating around waiting on that one year prove it deal cause nobody wants to commit.

Yeah and Phillips snap count wasn’t extremely high either. I can totally see Phillips getting a top 5 payday for his position.
-
Oh I agree. Open up the snap count and can he survive the season? He was hurt to end this year which sucked for the playoff game. I can absolutely see an Indianapolis or someone jump in with a crazy offer though. Im one of his biggest fans, but I don’t want to pay him 10 million a year. Honestly I don’t want to pay him more than 6 if he’s rotating with Murphy or on that side of the line. He’s better from the other side against the left tackle.

I agree you are generally spot on for some of these. But go look at my comment in the under the radar thread. Shaqs numbers this year vs chandler jones, Khalil Mack, and nick Bosa. His snaps at 480 this year vs those guys and the stats with them. He was on pace for elite level numbers this year.

I would disagree. And not cause I think he’s worth that, just that teams are handing out ridiculous deals. Last year would we have predicted the Landon Collins deal? Or Kwon Alexander?

My Off-Season Primer: Position Group: WR

I mostly agree. AJ Green can’t hurt us he’s not getting a long deal anywhere. If healthy even 10 games he’s a monster upgrade to the entire offense. Amari Cooper can dominate, but also is missing a chunk of games and is invisible in big games sometimes. Fitz will never leave Arizona. He’ll retire or go back there Sanders is intriguing, age vs injury vs contract probably means we won’t even check in on him It’s always a trend to see the top free agents drooled over and then the fun overreaction when they aren’t signed here -
Mutual Admiration Society: Daboll and Allen
Rc2catch replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The good news is if Allen masters this which is a big ask of any young guy, he will be an extremely cerebral quarterback to pair with his jaw dropping talent. His quick reads and dump off game should improve with more personnel? Maybe. -

Fantastic write up as usual. I like the idea Stefon Diggs could be made available (and also Everson Griffin) Minnesota is already 4 million OVER the cap and figured out they are a running team this year lol. He could be available. My other simplified take is WR1 and WR2 mean nothing anymore. You just need weapons who can contribute. As long as we pair someone with brown who makes plays we are good to go. Perriman will be a popular name and it’ll be interesting if Tampa tries to keep him. I don’t think his one year was enough for the contract he’s gonna get but what do I know ? Our biggest problem was lining up McKenzie and Roberts as receivers for so many snaps and they weren’t ever targeted or open mostly. Yeah duke looked good and has some skill, but they just need that one outside guy. A Kenny Golloday type to pair with brown. Two more weapons in our pass game rather it’s free agents or rookies or a mix of both will really open things up because defenses can’t just stop our “big 3” of smoke Beasley and Knox. Outside of them we didn’t really try and feature anyone else in the pass game. Kansas City runs the smurf game too outside of Kelce and they have no issues getting open and spreading defenses out. We just don’t have enough weapons to do that with smaller receivers like they do -
While you make some valid points he also did it with Alex smith who can run, but not like the guys you mentioned. In 2011 they went 13-3 and smith didn’t run much at all. Our buddy Gore ran quite a bit. It’s not all about the quarterback, helps they can run but it’s all misdirection and Baker isn’t exactly a statue he can run when needed

Best under the radar for me was Lawson. He’s been talked about a lot cause of the 5th year option declined and his free agent status. His stats don’t jump off the page and I think it’s overlooked what he actually accomplished this year. All the Yannick talk i dug deeper into stuff and was looking over snap counts. Shaq had like 480 snaps played. His QB hits and TFL were very impressive. Had he played over 700 snaps like Murphy did his numbers would be approaching elite levels. The trick though was he wouldn’t have the same numbers in Murphy’s spot. I think Lawson has developed a helluva game coming in for Hughes matching up against left tackles. I could not find what % of snaps he played at each end spot. I started browsing Chandler Jones who was amazing this year 1069 snaps 19 sacks 53 tackles 11 TFL 26 QB hits then Khalil Mack who was a little down this year 925 snaps 8.5 sacks 47 tackles 8 TFL 14 QB hits the new kid on the block nick bosa 783 snaps 9 sacks 47 tackles 16 TFL 25 QB hits Lawson 483 snaps 6.5 sacks 32 tackles 13 TFL 18 QB hits His numbers really jump when you consider how little he played compared to others. There’s of course other factors and I’m not calling him elite but his stats this year in a limited role were really impressive. I don’t want to get into the sign him or let him walk or any of that stuff it’s on tons of other threads. I just wanted to give a little insight since I had done a little homework about Yannick and people saying what an upgrade he is and this qualified as under the radar to me

Pretty sure I read in the thread about him the answer to this very threads question ?

Well done. That’s a fantastic hire. Carolina connection or not that’s a good hire -
The plan to replace Lorenzo Alexander?
Rc2catch replied to warrior9's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah I don’t see a permanent move for him. But that’s ok I don’t want to move him full time. I like the idea of lining him up all over though and keeping teams guessing what position he’ll actually be playing and if he’s coverage or blitzing or spying. His size/speed and position he’s played makes him the ultimate Swiss Army knife -

I think we see Hauschka no matter what next year. Kicking has become a major epidemic and it’s weird because you’d think there would be a lot, but there’s barely 20 good kickers left. I would expect they’ll take the veteran. I think I would struggle to find 5-10 guys I would want kicking a game winning 45 yarder over Hauschka. I did like that Slye kid in Carolina but I don’t know if I would cut the veteran for him. Bojo is talented but just yuck. He’s all over the place. If we’re a run team playing top notch D you need that field position. I could find 20+ punters I would take over him. -
Hey now.. my son was a hit at trick or treating is that outfit!!!!! im kidding I don’t know who that kid is.
-
That’s the kind of backup I want. Mariota and Dalton are obviously capable but I’m sure they have their sights set on a better job. Better chance to start. Fitz is capable especially in short stretches and by the way do you know where he went to college? I heard he’s smart ? Most of the guys mentioned in this thread are not actual options. If Fitz gets free he’s an actual option
-
Maybe so. I really busted out the big guns and dug deep in my name calling playbook.

To be fair it’s his only season with a high workload. He didn’t have many carries the last 3 years since they worked others. He’s got another dominant 2 years. That said Tennessee can’t let him leave. They’ll franchise or sign him long term. You can’t let the rushing title winner walk away at a young age after the season he just had. The wear and tear will break him down (probably) but he can go another 2-3 years at a high level

Wow what a disrespectful little person you are. People come here to debate and discuss bills football, not be rude and call each other names. What credentials do you have to talk as if you are so much more educated about football than others? Why are you so angry? To debate the first thing you need is a brain. Then you need to actually be willing to hear others opinions. Also it would be nice during said debates to keep things civil so others can have fun and not be attacked. You are clearly missing these key things most people have. And the worst part is you’re acting like a douche canoe to one of the better debaters on here. I’ll leave the mod part out cause you can still battle the mods. But you’re clueless how this stuff works. NOW AGREE WITH ME CAUSE I KNOW EVERYTHING I JUST DONT HAVE ANY FACTS TO BACK IT UP

Joe B All-22 from Houston playoff game
Rc2catch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lot of worse coordinators out there than Daboll. He’s not perfect obviously but we’re two years into his scheme for josh it’s not smart to change up unless you know you’re getting a big upgrade. Some “names” out there look to be an upgrade but we also don’t have to work with them.
