  1. Ok so before people flame away at this, I don’t normally start many topics but there’s been news out of LA from a reporter speculating that they of course want to trade Gurley away because they desperately need the cap and to get out from under his contract. However the only real way to trade him as a “salary dump” they need to add more value like draft pick compensation. How desperate are they? Robert Woods or Cooper Kupp desperate? 1st round picks desperate? Gurley has some knee issues but dudes only 25, can he play second fiddle to singletary? Would he be fresher/better in a time share where he’s not the #1? I know his contract is kind of ugly but it’s fairly easy to get out of in 2021 I believe with a 4 million dead cap hit (maybe some of you smarter cap guys can find more exact figures) I am not saying it’s a move we need to make, but I found it intriguing given our need for another running back and that Beane may be able to fleece them pretty good to take on that contract. The second part to it was hearing ESPN this morning discussing Mahomes contract coming up and how it’s been floated by owners to separate quarterbacks contracts from the salary cap. To create two salary caps for teams. One for strictly quarterbacks since the contracts are soaring so high and obviously the other cap to manage all other players on the team. Given our cap situation and Josh not needing that monster deal for a bit the Gurley thing made a little more sense if you can acquire a really big haul to take that contract. Best case scenario is he may play decent as well. Anyways I thought this would be a fun hypothetical kinda debate as to how a deal like that would work and what would be fair compensation to take on Gurley and that contract. https://itsgame7.com/los-angeles-rams-trading-todd-gurley/amp/ https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thebiglead.com/amp/posts/jeremy-fowler-espn-nfl-quarterback-salary-cap-01e0ddyxpgyn sorry if my links suck as I said I don’t normally do topics if someone else would prefer to have a discussion over this I can gladly delete mine
  2. I wouldn’t like it for philly, fantastic get for Arizona and Kyler though.
  3. I would be irate if I was an eagles fan and Goeddert was traded away.
  4. Thank you, those videos are just fantastic
  5. Thank you, perfect timing With the #10 pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft the Cleveland Browns select.. Grant Delpit - safety from LSU. Many expect offensive tackle here but Cleveland suffered against the run and Delpit is the ultimate Swiss Army knife having the size/speed/ability to play in coverage or come up in the box and make plays. We are the Browns we do not follow mock philosophy around here. Next up on the clock is the J-E-T-S @Just Joshin'
  6. I hear ya. I have work in 20 minutes I’ll have to sneak my #10 pick in somehow
  7. Alright we’re moving now, I was getting worried I have to work in 2 hours and the factory of sadness would get stuck on the clock a long time
  8. Helluva trade for those lions
  9. Sure they can. Josh isn’t always exactly lighting up the pass game. This team can easily win with the run game and short passing game. Barkley would be fine if he played 2-3 games and singletary ran well. We have always been a better run team than pass team under Mcdermott. This isn’t like the Tampa bay Bucs who can’t run and have to throw 50 times a game. I stand by my statement I think they would draft another late round prospect hoping to find some fools gold. All this Dalton and Mariota kinda talk ain’t happening. Going to be a huge quarterback carousel this offseason and a lot of jobs available for the better games out there. Taking a stab in the 5th round or later isn’t the worst idea.
  10. But look what you’re willing to give up. Then look at the OBJ and Antonio Brown trades last year. It’s too much. He’s not an elite player. Not yet. He may or may not grow into one but he’s not a Hopkins Thomas kinda receiver. And let’s not leave out Carolina isn’t gutting the team. Rhule isn’t going to just get rid of his top young talent they are purging the older talent out.
  11. I voted no. I think he’s a good player, possibly going to be great. I wouldn’t give up multiple picks for him yet though. Just me, but if I’m trading away a 1st round pick I want a proven elite talent. First round pick is HUGE value for that fifth year option.
  12. I’m not sure they’ll bother. Maybe another low dart throw like tyree hoping to strike a little fools gold. But let’s be honest, if Josh is hurt long term the season is over anyways. They can still ground and pound a win or two with Barkley and be ok.
  13. I think he’ll give it a go trying for one more season. BillsRdue has a nice little list pre offseason moves that shady could have a chance at some playing time with those teams. I think it really just depends on his finances, he’s not breaking any super records, now doesn’t exactly need a Super Bowl ring technically, if he’s broke he needs a check, if he’s invested intelligently he can easily retire an eagle and call it a career.
  14. It will be interesting to see what they do with him, or if he has progressed enough to play. I can say from Facebook stuff there’s a large group of bills fans thinking he’s some elite stash player that’s going to set the league on fire if he gets a chance. I just consider him a camp body for the most part who will get some practice reps. I highly doubt any of the media are in the know on practice squad players development unless someone from the bills is clueing them in
  15. Can’t get too worked up this early in the draft process. These guys just pair names to teams for fun like we do.
  16. He has no choice but to mentor even if he doesn’t want to. Even if he’s unwilling to teach, just the guys seeing him in practice and the film room will learn things. Lead by example kinda thing. The injuries are of course a concern but we wouldn’t be asking him to play a ton of snaps. Signing him is a win win situation. His contract won’t be long or hindering, even if/when he gets hurt you still have Knox and Sweeney.
  17. Factory of sadness here I come
  18. I will try one of the browns seahawks Vikings I’m free for Wednesday as I have no life and pop on here 20 times a day generally
  19. The money doesn’t totally matter as long as they can be clean of it after 1-2 years. And there’s a lot of “he’s always hurt” people.
  20. You’re not getting 16 games from Olsen, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing given knoxs ability and possible growth. He’s going to be a second option possibly here. He’d be the guy in Washington though. I’m not against signing him if they’re going to use him in the pass game. They didn’t use Kroft or make him a part of the offense, no point signing a similar player (obviously a long track record of success) if they’re not going to use him. I do find it a little funny we have this many posters excited to sign Olsen and so many against AJ Green. Same kind of situation as both are injury prone, on their last contracts that wouldn’t be long ones or ridiculous money. If I’m drafting a rookie receiver I don’t think there’s many in the league I would pick to show them how it’s done over green. Same for Knox, you want someone to show him how a tight end practices and makes plays in the pass game not many I would pick over Olsen to show him the ropes.
  21. I’m just trying to think outside the top 5 available box in free agency. I do not think sharpe will get much money at all. Tennessee isn’t exactly a pass team and he’s not used very much. I do expect they’ll target an elite player via trade or free agency but who knows. I was in hopes they would trade our first rounder for a proven receiver instead of drafting one in the 1st. I would like booker along with a rookie and wade battling it out for backup duties.
  22. Just my opinion but I don’t expect Talib wants to go through a rebuild. He wants to play for the top defenses and get more super bowls before he retires. He could be a bargain for some of the top teams or he may be about done. Dalton could be a fit for a lot of teams. I’m not sure his market will be that bad. Carolina if they don’t keep newton, raiders, philly maybe with Wentz injury issues, Chicago is Trubisky is on a short leash, Denver if they aren’t fully sold on Lock, Tennessee if they figured out tanehill isn’t that good, Indy is the prime place for any starting quarterback, jags if they can free up some money, Pittsburgh depending on how 300+ pound Ben rehabs. Lot of nicer paths to playing time than buffalo. Lot of jobs for dalton, Mariota, maybe Winston, Rivers, Teddy B maybe. Quarterback carousel this year. Could possibly snag one of those guys closer to preseason if they’re not signed and teams draft a lot of quarterbacks
  23. So every cornerback in his early to mid 30’s is Vontae Davis? Got it. I will limit my future wish list to include only defensive backs under 30.
  24. They have plenty of money to spend even with those contracts. And there’s what 90 roster spots available until cut downs? You cut them AFTER you get someone who can win the job. In certain cases like Kroft as was pointed out to me you cut them before new league year bonuses come into play but even still, it’s silly to cut guys hoping you can sign replacements. Create holes you may end up having to fill with lesser talent. Buffalo could literally sign 3 top end free agents (they won’t) and keep all the guys you listed and still have plenty of cap leftover. I’m not saying they should be here, but it makes no sense cutting everyone before you have replacements under contract or drafted.
  25. What makes you think A) Dalton would take a backup job, and if he did, wouldn’t he take one in a place with a fringe starter he could possibly beat out? There’s quite a few places possibly in need of starting quarterback experience and also a few starting quarterbacks possibly hitting the market. And B) why on earth with Talib stay in Miami? He was just a salary dump to them they didn’t even want him and he didn’t play a snap there
