  1. Slow day for the XFL thread today. I missed the games. Guessing they weren’t very good or people were busy like me on here today.
  2. I 100% agree. The Carmelo trade almost killed my fandom for them. Traded away all those young pieces for a one on one selfish player. I rarely watch them anymore but I follow their moves. They are still a long ways away from ever being relevant. They need what we got in buffalo when Ralph passed. New blood top to bottom and tear the whole thing down and start from scratch
  3. I would not want to give up next years first. Those picks are just too valuable and with the way the league is trending with impact trades you could get an elite level PROVEN player for a 1st round pick. Say Chicago just totally falls apart this year and cleans house and has to rebuild next offseason you could snag Mack in a “salary dump” kinda situation for that first rounder. Not that exact scenario but we’re seeing a lot more high level players being traded lately. While I love the 5th year option on 1st round players and getting two cost controlled this year is nice, if one of them doesn’t pan out as elite it’s a bad deal. Now I could see Beane being very aggressive in the 2nd and 3rd rounds dealing away our lower picks to move around and get his guys. He seems to have a real sweet spot in the 3-5 round range identifying talent there.
  4. Lol you question my fan hood sticking by the team through the last 20 years?? Only to jump to another team now. I’m here in East Tennessee with my Bills flag hung proudly in my yard in good years and bad years all the same. As a fan I take a beating in all sports between the Mets, Knicks and Bills. Nobody gets their heart broken in sports possibly more than me the last 20 years.
  5. Sadly I think it’s just getting started. This is “the biggest story of the offseason” and you know Brady is loving the attention and will drag it out as long as possible.
  6. I might be a little in the minority here but I want lawson back even if it’s a little bigger contract than people expect or are willing to pay. I have also been a big Quinn fan but he won’t be nearly as cheap as we’re expecting. But, sign them both. Shaq is getting a nice 3-4 year deal regardless, Quinn may be in the 2-3 year costly range. We all know Hughes is probably gone after next season. Might as well sign two this year. Makes the draft that much easier plus you still have the rookie from this season progressing in the rotational system and can always add more later if needed.
  7. My dad is a huge Bills fan. And weird enough a cowboys fan too, so it might of had to do with not wanting to cheer for the same team. I also really enjoyed that flashy Atlanta Falcon team, loved the black uniforms and all the flashy players. I also tend to go for the underdog teams. I’ve always followed the Bills and will always be a fan though. I just couldn’t get behind the Super Bowl teams. Too young to understand what they were
  8. It means nothing to beat them or not in my book. Especially if Brady isn’t even there. I want buffalo to win every game, I don’t hold any extra motivation against New England.
  9. I don’t put much stock into the pats games. My wish list is always dominating defense and a deep playoff run.
  10. In my younger years I was an Atlanta Falcons fan. Loved Jeff George and Andre Rison and Jamal Anderson and the “dirty bird” I later converted to a Tennessee Titans fan with McNair and Jevon Kearse. I always followed the Bills but I’m one of the few who didn’t actually like the Super Bowl teams. I was never a big fan of Thurman or Kelly although I did like some of the other players. After the Super Bowl runs ended and the team blew up I became a much more dedicated fan.
  11. I feel pretty good about what’s been done and the current state of the organization. I am far from sold on Allen as a long term quarterback but I like the team they have built. This offseason is obviously the offseason of the fringe playoff buffalo bills for the next few years or the Super Bowl contender buffalo bills for the next few years. If Allen shines he will cover any possible mistakes from Beane and Mcdermott.
  12. Anyone interested in Hopkins? Anyone want Julio? Anyone want Amari? Just trying to help you consolidate so you don’t have to start more wide receiver threads with zero substance behind them ?
  13. It’s been discussed numerous times already. It doesn’t make any sense for them to trade him, and look at his dead cap.. End thread /
  14. Didn’t we just have a thread on this a few days ago?
  15. I think one of the bigger factors is the relationships between scouts and the college programs staffs. I’m sure there’s a lot of info out there no “journalist” is ever going to hear. Little tidbits like “his mom was sick the last two years and it affected his play but that kid is an insanely hard worker” There’s inside info out there especially for these round 4-7 guys or UDFA players. No journalist is ever going to get that kind of info because they can’t have a chat with a member of a coaching staff. This could also factor into some teams poor drafts as well, if your scouts aren’t tied into these programs you may not get the same info other teams do. Talent on tape if a fantastic tool, but it rarely tells the whole story of a player. With limited visits and exposure to players teams have to guess what kind of man they are drafting.
  16. My whole thing is he’s gotten better every year.. Mostly with young free agents you kind of know what you’re getting and hoping they might progress in your program. With Shaq he may not have peaked yet. 5 more sacks this season and this guy is getting in the ballpark of Yannick and clowney money. Someone will absolutely pay for a player on an upward trajectory each of his first 4 seasons. He has injury history, but he’s versatile playing both end spots. Just my own opinion and I’ve mentioned it before but it really had the look to me that Shaq found a gear he didn’t know he had. All of a sudden the “light came on” Add in the fact that his first couple years he mostly only played one end spot. The last two years he’s rotating in to Hughes side and he’s actually a really good pass rusher from that side. The Baltimore game was all I needed to see to say I wanted him back even at a high cost. In today’s NFL where almost all quarterbacks have legs you need a guy like shaq.I urge those who may not have paid attention in that game to go rewatch shaq on defense. He was a monster and one of the biggest reasons Lamar didn’t look like an mvp against us. He held contain and Lamar panicked multiple times when that side wasn’t open to run. I would also add Watson ain’t getting all those rush yards in the playoff game to bring them back had shaq been healthy and in the game. I also noticed a bit of a trend this season in some games. Opening drives opposing teams marched right down the field on us multiple times. Then the D settled in. Is it coincidence Shaq generally didn’t come in until the second series? I believe it would be a huge loss for this defense to let him walk without an in house replacement already there to take over. This isn’t Jordan Phillips with Ed Oliver waiting in the wings.
  17. I do think it’s Yannick or one of the aging quarterbacks. Only because of the HUGE guarantees they’ll get. Yannick is good, but that’s an extreme amount of money for a guy who doesn’t impact games much the last couple years.
  18. I don’t like him much.. He’d be a number 1 but he doesn’t seem to be able to dominate when you need him. Dallas was a train wreck this year and Amari was nowhere to be found for games at a time. I’m not against him coming here, but I am against paying him big bucks the next 5 years. I’d rather a 2 year contract or easy outs after two seasons
  19. The way Mcdermott coaches up guys on defense I actually think Joseph is going to be lights out. He has a lot of work to do but i would hope the year off gave him some time to learn the defense in and out. He has some serious potential. The speed between Milano, Edmunds and Joseph is unreal. Given Edmunds ability to blitz and his size/speed combo I’m hoping they have some packages with Joseph playing MLB and they can move Edmunds around to cause havoc. Should never bank on production from an unknown in Joseph but in my little warped mind I always wanted Loraxs replacement to be Edmunds and Joseph to take over when they move Edmunds around.
  20. I would love either Jersey and could possibly squeeze my belly into a medium.. I have my sights on a custom jersey for next season. Look forward to seeing one of the locals land those jerseys from ya
  21. Man that was a helluva throw on the touchdown by Silvers..
  22. I like Phillips fire, got him a couple silly penalties getting too pumped up but I do like a player who plays with emotion. That said, I hope he gets a monster deal from Tampa or someone else in the NFC and gets to shine.
  23. That’s my thinking.. Grab a vet and rookie for each of those positions.. On to my free agent picks.. I want Tajae Sharpe and Robert Quinn.
  24. I fully expect a ton of guys from this league are getting training camp invites. The pay for them is just too cheap to not bring players in. Even ones we don’t pay attention to like offensive linemen should get invited.
  25. I never said we didn’t need an upgrade. Just that they either limited the playbook or Allen didn’t look outside of the top 3 guys. I find it hard to believe nobody was ever open outside our top 3 options. Other teams see guys step up even if the production isn’t consistent. They also coach receivers up better. Im not defending we have all these hidden elite weapons and the coaches botched it, just that we could of utilized them better in the pass game and definitely could of targeted those lower guys more. We ran McKenzie out there like 50% of our snaps and barely targeted him just ran him as a jet sweep decoy. Foster or duke would of been better off out there as pass catchers opposed to motion decoys.
