  1. That’s kinda the point I was making. If you flip their draft positions Allen is probably out of the league or a severe turnover machine in jersey. Where as Darnold would probably be pretty dang successful here. So I don’t think the draft “experts” were completely wrong, they just didn’t expect Allen would progress or get a chance to profess in the pros
  2. He could just as easily have busted. They’re just playing the odds. Switch Allen and Darnold. Are they in the same position today?
  3. I’m saying the commish and nflpa should get together and say if all teams can’t have fans no teams can have fans. Obviously the NFL has zero leverage over states to allow fans
  4. That’s when the commish and the nflpa need to get together and rule on it. It’s a league issue imo not a state issue. States can choose what they like, but the league needs to come together and act as one. Some may think it’s silly, I still see it as a competitive advantage which I thought the league did not want to happen.
  5. They really need to find some balance on this. I realize each state has separate rules but either everyone has fans or nobody has fans. I don’t personally care I’m not attending any games and the fake crowd noise isn’t bothering me. But from a level playing field kinda view it doesn’t seem right some teams can allow fans and others can’t. 20% capacity may not be the noise advantage of a full stadium but I do believe it has an effect on players.
  6. I think Ford against Donald should 100% be one of the best things we’ve heard this young season. First start, here buddy take on the best defensive player in the league.. Oh and have fun. Donald was gonna flash regardless but it’s cool to hear Ford did his job well and held his own.
  7. Whoever made this Thursday night schedule this year should be fired. They should just cancel Thursday games
  8. 😂😂😂 come on, let me find some more work for you guys to do.. I have a blast on here usually so I trust it’ll go in the right direction. Similar to what others have said I have browsed other teams sites and this one is run much much better and cleaner
  9. They did it in the super bowl. Bosa was eating the chiefs alive, then they were allowed to hold him non stop in the second half. I didn’t care who won or have a favorite in the matchup so I was pretty objective I feel on that one. It’s a big issue when it becomes discretion as opposed to actual rules
  10. Issue will be when they choose to enforce some of these penalties they’re letting slide. I have noticed tons of holding that’s not being called but I’m used to that in most games
  11. I would 100% like to see people “muted” for some of those things. Starting threads without reading the board and seeing the same thread just below, starting threads just for attention or a one sentence opinion sucks too. I often joke I’d like to see an approval system to weed some of these glory bound posters out. Like you would have to approve a thread before it shows on the page. After so many successful approvals they can post freely. Probably not possible and more work on mods. BTW I think the mods are great. There’s some sarcasm I think that’s missed and people take it awfully personal. Chances are high if you have beef with a mod you’re one of the problem “contributors” on this site and took it personal cause you got a warning message and didn’t agree. We also need to upgrade the YOLO bot on here.
  12. Something to be said about building a young mans confidence. Herbert and Burrow have stats but at what cost? How confident can they be when burrow is throwing it 60 times in a game and losing and getting hit non stop? At this rate he could be shell shocked by week 10. They limited Allen on purpose. So he didn’t panic and have 1000 turnovers and crush his confidence. They built his confidence like they built the roster.
  13. No I think you’re missing the point I was making. I never “bashed” Lamar. When people defend his passing game they tend to point out how many passing touchdowns he has, and it’s kind of a misleading stat because a very large portion of those come inside the 10 yard line. He’s not leading the team down the field with his arm, this is why we see him struggle when they’re behind or in pressure games when defenses are more serious. His season was magical last year, and we’ll probably never see that great of a season from anyone again. He was never going to maintain that level of play. It’s not sustainable in the nfl. He’s coming back down to earth and he’ll hang in the 20-30 range as a passer. Add in his running threat and he’s a top 15 quarterback in the league. Doubtful that he’s ever in the talks for mvp again unless his passing improves a bunch. It can, others have improved. I don’t think it will though as long as Roman is there.
  14. What does Allen have to do with anything I said? Allen is not an MVP nor are we discussing if Allen can maintain playing at an MVP level.
  15. I don’t want to knock him I just never notice him anymore. He used to scream around the edge and the only time I see him now he’s bullrushing right into the tackles. I like jerry and he’s probably the unluckiest player in the league because the NFL refs hate his ever living guts. Of all the football I’ve watched the last 5-6 years I have never seen someone held as much as Hughes and almost never get the call
  16. Hard to dislike Fitz. Just seems like such a good personality outside of football
  17. EDITED FOR NON-FOOTBALL CONTENT This is definitely big news for the league on how they can handle this. I would expect anyone infected is already out for next week no matter what and that’s where the practice squad spots come in. Unless there’s 15+ more positive tests coming I fully expect them to play on and replace the infected with practice squad along with non stop testing of Minnesota and Tennessee. I can’t see any scenarios where games are cancelled outside of 15-20 positive tests on the team.
  18. 21 of his 46 passing touchdowns have come within 10 yards of the goal line. So yes the trend is they generally work down the field running and then can throw it in within 10 yards. I would suggest going to read pro football references page on Lamar. Game log passing touchdowns for his career. You will see a giant portion of his passing touchdowns within 10 yards and with the score up big by Baltimore a lot of times last year. But once again this isn’t about if he can throw, or lead teams. It’s sustaining MVP level elite play. There was and is zero chance Baltimore and Lamar can maintain what they did last season.
  19. This is how I know you didn’t actually read my comment. A lot of his pass stats came in blowout time. This isn’t a debate over if he can make throws, or lead an offense or nothing. It’s about if he can sustain his play at an MVP level. They butchered teams last year and don’t get me wrong he had a magical season we may never see again but I doesn’t change that a decent amount of games were over by halftime for the most part. Defenses then played Baltimore to run and kill clock. Which left big plays in the pass game which padded his stats. Of course he made those plays and that takes talent, but it’s not the same as making those plays when you’re down 21-10 either which MVP elite quarterbacks do. He’s very limited as a passer and that doesn’t mean he’ll be out of the league in a year, just in my opinion means he cannot sustain MVP elite level play. It also does not help him that Romans trend is usually being figured out in year 2 and completely exposed year 3.
  20. And? He played Houston and Cleveland. What’s that got to do with his stats from last year? It’s easy to pad stats when you’re winning 38-3 in the third quarter and defenses are playing you to run and kill clock which they did a lot last year.
  21. I can agree Lamar was never sustaining an MVP level of play with their style. Let’s not forget they were killing teams last year and padding his stats like crazy. All the stat lovers immediately point out how many passing touchdowns he had yet fail to mention how many were from like 1 yard out which is obviously impossible to defend him. They run 70 yards down the field then play action from a yard out and he gets a passing touchdown. Still counts but skews this perception he’s a good passer. He’s not about to be run out of the league or anything but I think is MVP days might be numbered. Roman generally is ineffective after year 2. Kyler I’m not so sure of yet, he’s very limited as a passer because of his height. They have to move the pocket for him to see which puts him on the move virtually every play. I also can’t have too much faith in a quarterback who is a pro and still cannot take a snap from under center. Week 1, end of game... To take the knee he takes the snap from shotgun. I only know cause my nephew has him on fantasy football and was highly upset he lost 10 yards rushing on 2 kneel downs and sent me video of Kyler taking a knee from shotgun. Weird.
  22. Brady, Lamar, mahomes, Favre, Rodgers, didn’t all those guys win mvp awards playing in cold weather locations? Chiefs usually have a snow game or 2 each year. Kind of a weird take with no real thought behind it.
  23. Hahaha yeah that might be a little extreme. Im a fan of black so for me Vegas is perfect.
  24. Hockensons stats were almost identical to Knox last year???? I haven’t watched Fant much though. The odds of a first round tight end making any kind of impact next season are very low.
