Marshawn Lynch Would Un-Retire For A Contender
Rc2catch replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We basically already have his job covered with Allen. If we are 4th and 1 or any important short yardage situation in an important game who do you think we’re giving the ball to? -
I actually think a good coach could have developed Trent Edwards. He was never going to be a top 10 guy but I think he could have had a good career. He ended up completely shell shocked by the end and was so scared to be hit. He was just a few years too early or he might of stuck around a bit. In today’s NFL with the constant misdirection and motions I think edwards could have success in a scheme like buffalo or San Fran or Carolina that likes to throw a lot of stuff around the line of scrimmage and use dump down throws to running backs.

Yeldon will always be a head scratcher, especially when you see players like Mckissic in Washington. When things are clogged and just not working having that receiving back is pretty huge. Moss and motor seem to do ok but it was quite scary when they both went down in the first quarter and we only had Taiwan left.

I honestly don’t worry about Daboll leaving. This offense isn’t all scheme like some others. The success has always been Allen and his development. Allen has worked on his game and the base is there now. He knows what works and what he’s good at and any new coordinators are going to build a scheme based off what Allen wants to do. Daboll I would of fired last year honestly but as per usual I don’t always see the bigger picture with this front office and coaching staff. I think we will be ok with or without Daboll

Week 13 MNF Bills @ 49ers in Phoenix 2nd Half Thread
Rc2catch replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can’t do the gameday threads anymore lol but great win and solid game for the whole team. Defenses give up plays, San Fran isn’t trying to roll over. We stopped the run, their number one strength. Enjoy the win. -
Bold predictions for MNF
Rc2catch replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’ll go bold, buffalo holds this potent San Fran run game to under 75 yards. But Deebo eats us alive over the middle of the field for 10+ catches -
It’s official. The New York Jets legendarily suck!
Rc2catch replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Owners I’m sure would like to tank. Shoot maybe even the coaches are fine with it since this might be the end for some of them. But the players? No way. The players are never going to buy into a tank. That corner who got burned today is playing the best he can to land a job next year and get paid. I can’t possibly believe any fringe roster kinda player is going to embrace possibly ruining their film and chance at a new deal -
How about Aaron Jones at RB next year?
Rc2catch replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Numbers don’t lie, Williams is producing for them. In the run and pass game. You keep saying you watch packers games like nobody else has a tv lol. I’ve watched plenty of Green Bay this year. Matter of fact one of the funnest games I’ve watched this season was the game adams was out and they had no receivers but all the running backs played amazing, they ran motions and screens and moved the backs all over and had a great game. I get you have some big crush on Aaron jones but running backs come from nowhere at times and are not worth second contacts minus the very few elite guys. Jones is not one of those elite guys. Sorry for your loss buddy. -

Jamaal Williams isn’t exactly a scrub and one could argue is playing at the same level as Jones. And given Jones injury history it’s probably smart to lighten his load during the season so he’s fresh for the playoffs right? -
AJ Klein: Tremaine Edmunds "a True Mike"
Rc2catch replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Edmunds catches a lot of hate around here but there’s a lot worse options out there. Add in the fact that this is a tough defense to play as a MLB. Devin White looks amazing in Tampa, sometimes. But he’s just as easily swallowed by blockers on runs and out of position in pass coverage like what happens to Edmunds sometimes. The general trend on this board is we are WRONG most of the time judging these players. 7-8 weeks ago we would of cut Bass, Klein, Edmunds, Levi, go back farther and we’re cutting Star who we are mostly all suddenly loving and missing. Where would we be today if fans had majority vote on roster decisions? Tremaine is a good player and has shown he has not peaked yet at an early age. There’s no real reasons to replace him or draft a replacement yet. -

I had to stop reading after under utilized. What?? Green Bay has always featured him and he’s shown well, except he always catches minor injuries or misses time. It’s understandable for almost all running backs but he gets plenty of touches there when healthy. -
That was the exact comment I came here to post.

Steelers take a hit - Bud Dupree
Rc2catch replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That’s the risk these guys take though. If you refuse to sign the tag people hate on you and you’re looked at in a different way. If you do sign and this happens it could cost someone like Dupree 50+ million dollars. It causes unnecessary drama in the league. A case like Duprees will have most players with a halfway decent agent refusing to sign any franchise tags in the future. It’s only my opinion of course but I think the franchise tag needs to be looked at and updated. There’s better ways to handle expiring contracts of players. Sign and trades like the NBA, or maybe the franchise tag just expires before the draft or free agency. It was only meant as a placeholder to give teams more time negotiating a long term deal. I don’t think outside maybe kickers any player should have to play a season under that tag. It’s too risky -
AJ Klein named AFC Defensive Player of the Week
Rc2catch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shouldn’t be that hard. Klein has shown terrible pass coverage skills and been above average playing around the line against the run and blitzing on pass downs. Milano coming back only helps with his pass coverage skills. They can put all 3 linebackers out there even though they normally don’t since they’re semi using Klein as an extra rusher. -
Steelers take a hit - Bud Dupree
Rc2catch replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The odds are against him to get a good contract while recovering. How many free agents get good contracts while rehabbing an ACL? Sucks for Pittsburgh’s defense, and sucks for Dupree. Im just not a fan of this franchise tag I wish they’d get rid of it. -

Rc2catch replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is why the franchise tag sucks. Guy had one good season last year, didn’t get the big offer, gambled playing on the franchise tag and now he is gonna lose a fortune being a free agent rehabbing a major injury and question marks if he can be ready to start next season. -
No I get that, it’s not about who they’re missing I don’t care about that part. It’s the Ravens still popping up new positive cases daily and almost a guarantee they’re sending multiple players out to play who are gonna pop positive in the coming days. Don’t wanna derail or get too far into others areas but if Baltimore players infect Steelers (low probability) next week they could have Pittsburgh popping 20+ positive cases.

Black Monday is coming (UPDATE: is here!).....
Rc2catch replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
100% I would take it, but you still run the risk of that first year lighting the league on fire like Nagy only to stumble to the bottom. -

Rc2catch replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been saying for over a year I’d avoid Andy Reid’s offensive coordinators. While both Nagy and Pederson started out sizzling hot with their dynamic offenses they have zero ability to adjust once defenses figure out the scheme. Nagy should of been fired immediately after he fired his offensive staff last offseason trying to scapegoat them. Andy Reid gives them a playbook as a parting gift and once that playbook runs its course both coaches fell apart (joke) You can’t be an offensive coach then have defense be decent carrying the team with putrid offenses for multiple years -
Eagles HC Pederson on the hot seat with job status
Rc2catch replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Winning the super bowl was huge. So he’ll get more job offers. But these coordinators aren’t looking so hot after leaving Andy Reid. I like to joke he makes them a playbook when they leave and they start out real hot, but once defenses have it and it’s time for adjustments they are starting to look really bad. Nagy and Pederson as offensive minds yet both teams are better defensively. -
I didn’t say we wouldn’t bother getting them involved. I said the way we are schemed right now they wouldn’t be involved. The targets simply aren’t there to produce. They would have to change things up a bit to involve a tight end heavy in the pass game. I think right now, Kroft and Knox if we targeted them 5-7 times a game their production numbers would be up there. Not Kelce or Waller numbers but they could hang in the Henry and Hockenson area stat wise. Matter of fact given Smokes injury I’m shocked they didn’t game plan to throw more to tight ends against L.A. I don’t think Kroft or Knox are less talented than a LOT of the tight ends on the top 25 of that list. You have to be given opportunities to produce and it can be argued Knox kinda lost trust in the pass game but I would think Kroft has earned more looks

It’ll be an interesting story to follow, and it should result in some extremely good veteran talent being released or traded on some teams. I see it as an opportunity for Buffalo to pounce and once again acquire an elite talent. I do feel we are in a position similar to last offseason that we can afford to move a 1st round pick to get an elite difference maker and I think 99% of the fan base would agree that would be a defensive end. As Doc pointed out above we have some options to free money up with a few easy releases on top of some expiring contracts. The Bears for example may be cleaning house and going into a full blown rebuild, they clearly would consider moving Mack in that scenario. I for one would gladly take on that contract for a 1st and 5th type combo. Until we commit to Allen big time we can take advantage of a situation like this with the salary cap and other teams hurting.
