If White is still on the roster, Benford is depth. He is a phenomenal tackler with ball skills (talking Benford). Give me a healthy Tre White as CB2, Benford at FS, Duggers at SS. Elam and Jackson the primary backups at CB.

I’m no football fundamental expert, but I would think the techniques are different. Elam could transition to safety rather nicely.

Elam would be experimental, Benford would be an elite safety. All depends on Tre White and his recovery/willingness to take a pay cut. If White isn’t on the active roster, Douglas and Benford will be the starting CBs. I am super interested to see Elam get some reps at FS this summer, though.

Worth keeping in mind: We don’t really know any context behind these stats, and we don’t know what a Joe Brady installed offense looks like. It may not really be a stretch to say that Joe Brady called a Ken Dorsey’s version of a modified Brian DaBoll’s offense.

Benford is born to be an elite safety, best case scenario is White returns and Benford moves.

I used to get super heated and emotional, I’d let the games impact my mood. My wife isn’t a Bills fan, she doesn’t follow any sport so is usually happy to get her husband back on Sundays. After my dad’s accident last year, death of my grandma and my wife’s grandpa, and a miscarriage, a football loss doesn’t hit like it used to. I love watching them play, and win, so if I get to watch 19 games instead of 17, that’s a huge bonus. I think a lot of us lose perspective on what this is: a game. It has no impact on our lives (or shouldn’t). I can confirm that a W doesn’t make bad times better, so a loss should never make good times bad. I’m always trying to remind myself of this perspective. It’s pretty rare that the “best team” wins the Super Bowl, luck and politics has more to play than any fan wants to admit. Maybe we will catch lightning in a bottle. Maybe we won’t.

So, to be clear, your beef with Diggs is his yardage production slipped and he didn’t talk to the media?

Possibly, I know Klein, Dodson, Kincaid, and Knox all left the game and came back.

I get that, but it’s pretty likely more defensive guys get added since on offense we probably only have to replace a few WRs and some RB depth. I think we will see David Edwards and Ty Johnson return. We may only see 4 impact additions on offense, while defense could have 6-7.

This thread is misleading, with the expiring contracts this offseason HAS to be defensive focused because we, game-day quality wise, have under contract: 1 DT 3 DE 3 LBers 1 Safety That’s before potentially needing to replace Poyer and White.

Um, yes. I am damn proud this team pulled it together and finished where they did. The standard for the whiny crowd is to cry that everything is awful and downplay every positive. Keyboard temper tantrums, stick fingers in ears and shout ‘NO!’ over and over and over again. Congrats, we are both doing our jobs.
