  1. Yes, I’m theory. If what Araiza’s lawyer said is true and he didn’t know, historically the NFL doesn’t care. Mark Sanchez bedded a 17 year who lied about her age when he was 25 or 26 and there were no suspensions or legal actions. Bigger deal, obviously, is the violent gang rape and if it did happen, did he know/participate. I’ve seen conflicting reports.
  2. For sure, I think Doe’s lawyer is going for public backlash/pressure to force a settlement so 19s lawyer is trying also to sway the public.
  3. Again I’m not referring to the gang rape, that’s terrible. Im talking about a situation where someone said they were 18 and the other person was 20/21 and they had consensual sex, according to his lawyer. That said, we all thought Hernandez was a good dude too.
  4. This MB is mostly men, most of the men here have been at college parties drunk. Some even likely hooked up with a girl. How many do you think ID’d the girl prior? Let alone if she said she was 18? He was what, 20-21? No DA is going to charge someone in that situation when it was consensual. We are looking through the lenses of a couple of old dudes like us where 18 year olds look like babies. He was 20 or 21 and his lawyer said she lied about her age.
  5. If that’s true, this case is dropped
  6. What if he didn’t know? She shows up drunk to his college party, it’s not a stretch that he assumed she was college age.
  7. Agreed. Araiza’s lawyer is being very careful to not say that she wasn’t raped, but that it wasn’t by our punter. No one has said they hooked up, but there has been plenty of suggesting by the lawyers that they did.
  8. That’s what I’ve been saying
  9. If it was consensual and she admitted it and he didn’t know she was 17 this likely gets dropped. She just blew up her case against Araiza.
  10. Unclear, the article says he did but doesn’t show any quotes.
  11. Unless they think he’s innocent, there’s that part too.
  12. “The lawsuit states” isn’t proof, thats speculation. The next quote confirms nothing. Why not quote the part where he admits it?
  13. Your missing the human aspect of this. You cut a kid because he was accused, that will speak volumes to agents. You have to do the due diligence.
  14. Could be, she could also be trying to rile up public opinion to apply pressure to make them settle.
  15. I 1000% understand where you are coming from, putting him on leave makes more sense than cutting. For all we know the team has already investigated. Teams know shakedowns happen, A LOT. Vets usually sit with rookies and have that talk with them. The timing of this is very telling.
  16. They aren’t risking their image for a developing rookie punter. If there is evidence she’s telling the truth that he was involved in a gang rape he’s done.
  17. Cut anyone who’s accused is a good way to run an organization…
  18. Again remember there are two parts in this that appear to be separate: 19 hooking up with JD who wound up being underage. The gang rape that allegedly happened after. One can be true, both, or neither.
  19. Unless she’s trying to rile up the public so he just settles with her to make it all go away. A TV interview would do that. If there are inconsistencies with her story she’ll lose, she’s hoping for a settlement. I wonder how much she’s suing for?
  20. The cases are not the same and Watson was found guilty of nothing technically.
  21. Unless they investigated and felt he’s innocent.
  22. The lawyer will defend Matt, the lawsuit will not. Gotta just wait for the police, none of us were there.
  23. No *****, of course the lawsuit which is 1 sided will make it sound cut and dry lol
  24. Doesn’t sound like he’s being accused of the gang rape, just that he had sex with someone who wound up being under age. Same thing happened to Mark Sanchez and nothing happened.
  25. Yikes. The “call rape because their millionaires” thing is real, but so is “college athletes above the law” thing. We must, must, must wait for ALL the details and jump to no conclusions.
