Hyde: At 32 and coming off a serious injury, would get us a 6th, maybe. Ed: I agree if the compensation is right. AJE: Disagree, he actually had a nice season and stepped up when Avon went down. Morse: Disagree-ish, that opens another hole with a weak OL FA class. Reggie - Great FB, no not cut just use him. Dawkins - Decent chance he’s restructured Tre - Wasn’t he already restructured once? That’s just kicking guaranteed money down the line. Brown - Has a long way to go to earn that extension. Hynes - Very possible his deal is restructured McK - Agree, won’t be right away Neal - I’d be surprised Restructuring Allen and Von’s deals are almost guaranteed.

Sam Darnold makes a ton of sense.

Not only that, what happened last year? Defensive collapse. Year before? Defensive collapse. Bills defense allowed 20+ first downs and recorded 0 takeaways in those 3 games. The defensive gameplan was nearly “bend but don’t break” and see if the QB will make a mistake. Patrick Mahommes and Joe Burrow. Great idea. It was death by 1000 cuts.

So Who will our next DC be? Tracker Links

Ron Rivera? -
Hyde and Poyer were also CBs who moved to safety when they came to Buffalo.

He will get a shot, but Bills should still absolutely draft someone very high, just in case. Hyde is old and coming off a serious injury, Benford VERY unproven.

I think there is less pressure than the media claims. Top 5 GM, top 5 coach. Won’t be easy to replace.

Jersey Number Changes: A Way Too Early Topic
TheyCallMeAndy replied to TheyCallMeAndy's topic in The Stadium Wall
And would look pretty cool too. -
As the topic implies, let’s speculate over just who might be rocking different digits in 2023. There are two players who come to my mind immediately. The first, is actually Tyler Bass. Now that skill position players can rock single digit numbers, Bass’ #2 might be at a premium. Khalil Shakir immediately comes to mind, as does a certain recently released 30 year old wideout who could be on our radar. Why else might Bass change his number? For the first time in his career, his college number is actually available. The previous resident was some practice squader who got signed away, not sure if it’s been discussed. The second guy, and I think this is a slam dunk, is James Cook. I love the way 28 looks, but he was 4 in college and his brother wears 4 for Minnesota. I really don’t think Jaquan Johnson will be brought back, and Cook never updates the number in his insta handle, so what other proof do you need? Who am I missing? Is there another guy you think will change numbers?

I felt while they could definitely improve (and clearly are), but I didn’t consider either to be ‘bad.’ Neither did Finna, he just wanted more from those two. IMO both made strides in 2022 *Edit* After looking at their splits, Epenesa actually played better after Von went down. Groots production significantly dipped after the ankle injury.

Locked On Bills is an amazing podcast with amazing insight. The elbow injury and arm angle is definitely plausible to being a part of why things got weird the last 9 weeks. John Fina hit the nail on the head yesterday as well. I’m sure it can and I’m sure it was, BUT these mechanic changes will affect his accuracy, which we saw. It’s made very clear in the podcast and the next episode, Bills didn’t lose because Allen’s injury or because “they ran out of gas.” They lost because of poor blocking schemes and a poor overall offensive game plan. Injuries, also, became a huge issue in the end.

Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract
TheyCallMeAndy replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Watson has proven to be a much better passer than Jackson. I’m not sure I pay that if I’m the Ravens, and they could get multiple first round picks in return for him. -
I hope that’s all we have to worry about in 2023
