  1. I do not believe this team is going to have success as long as TT is the QB...this is a huge thing you have never seemed to have grasped. The real agenda here is you firmly representing an average to below average player every time someone posts something non flattering of said player. And as soon as I post, another one of my stalkers shows up.
  2. Many a coach has seen something in a player and thought they could turn them into something more...many have also failed. Just because Dennison sees something in Tyrod does not mean that he will get him to improve.
  3. The upside for him is low in this Bills offense, so while it would be a good get, I think it likely wouldn't be very beneficial for Maclin due to that low upside. He's either looking to win, or he's looking at a chance to prove himself for a chance at another nice deal.
  4. If Taylor was good and could have carried more of a load in the passing game, I'm sure they would've given him more responsibility in that regard. All the info actually shows the opposite...that he needed things simplified in order to better run the offense. I could of maybe bought that this was a run oriented offense that didn't ask Taylor to make plays in year one, but surely they would have recognized Taylor's ability to handle more and would have put more on his plate last season so we could win if we do end up in a shootout (which is inevitable in today's NFL). Again...they actually ended up simplifying the plays and his reads after struggles last season, so I think the offense has been constructed to protect a flawed QB and utilize our strength which has been the run game. Any other conclusion seems to be a stretch IMO
  5. Insults and belittling of those who don't agree with you're high praise of Taylor. You can never keep it to strictly discussion...there's always a little dig thrown into it...as if any other opinion on Taylor isn't worth acknowledgement. It's fine with me as I can take it and don't mind giving it back, but it still speaks to what type of poster you have become...at least when Tyrod is the subject of the discussion.
  6. This perfect system you are speaking of would have to hide Taylor's major flaws as a passer...we already did that by protecting him with a dominant ground game mixed in with simple plays and easy, low risk throws. The QB's that have the perfect system in place have the freedom to read the defense and operate in real time while the play is developing...before the snap as well. Dennison may help him a bit more by rolling out of the pocket and such, but I don't view that as sustainable, and I can envision Taylor taking more of a beating that way, too. I think we've given Tyrod about as much help as he can expect, and he's been given a system that helps him maximize his abilities already. Bottom line is I just don't see alot more that can be done to get him playing at a higher level. And Taylor had a chance to put it away, but didn't.
  7. Most games come down to the end. The difference alot of the time is a score or less. The defense for all it's faults did give the offense a chance in numerous games, and they couldn't deliver.
  8. The passing has to be a strength when down in games and/or late in games...otherwise, we will falter down the stretch once again. I'm not concerned that the system won't be effective...I'm more so concerned with will it be effective in the crucial moments when everyone knows Taylor has to throw.
  9. I'm fine and dandy with this post. It should be hard to argue many points on Taylor after this season. We should have more data...data on him in different systems, Sammy hurt and healthy...lots of things should be pretty much taken for facts after this season. If after this season I still hear that we are unsure and might need more time, I will not settle for that.
  10. Here's how I've always looked at it...good QB's can become great in the right system. Flawed players can become good players in the right system. I think Tyrod falls into the former category, and I don't see huge strides being made in the areas of concern.
  11. So coaches don't see great physical ability and believe that they can turn it into more? Do you really think this doesn't happen alot with coaches and players? The fact is that Dennison has already worked with him and he still has major flaws and weaknesses in his game. It seems very unlikely to me that the new OC will transform this guy into something that we haven't already seen. I think people are hoping on hope that someone will get Taylor to take that next step, and Dennison made the best pitch that he was the guy to do it. It's fair to wonder just what he can do with the guy because he sure didn't get his previous team to see it...they just let this guy walk out the door, so apparently whatever he did with Tyrod in the past wasn't anything that caught anyone's attention. Dennison is going to install a system that he thinks will play better to Taylor's strengths. He's not going to correct his fundamental flaws and his struggles reading the field and anticipating receivers. He's going to run more gimmicky stuff and get Taylor out of the pocket more. This doesn't sound like an offense that will be sustainable...it is likely to catch some team's off guard at first until they get a handle on it, and then they will adjust...force TT to stay in the pocket, and make throws he's not shown to be able to make. At least this is how I envision it.
  12. He can certainly change my mind. If he lights it up and wins games...how could I deny that? I couldn't. There wasn't any great options out there, and the new coach wanted to keep continuity at the most important position...that's why I'm ok with a RB impersonating a QB getting another year. The team appears to be letting him hold down the fort while they work on replacing him, and it's unlikely the team makes any real noise this season anyway. I can understand how some can get caught up in the exciting plays and physical tools...Dennison seems to be one of those guys. It's easy to just believe blindly and tell yourself he will figure it out, the new system will make him better...whatever makes you feel better about him, I do get it. I just have a more realistic view based on how long he's been in the league and what I've seen in terms of actual passing ability. I don't see much changing, and I think his flaws are fatal when passing determines whether we win or lose. If I'm wrong...it's a win for everybody, so look at it as something you can look forward to since I'm surely wrong. I surely kid when I call Taylor a RB impersonating a QB. He was never a RB, but I really can't say he's acted like a true QB either, so he's really a hybrid if you want to really push me for an answer as to what I believe he is. As far as the top 10 passer rating, that's easily explained by a simplified offense that minimizes risks and accentuates safe and easy throws. Add in a dominant ground game and it's easy to see how you could look better than you really are. And also watch him when passing was required to win the games and see how flawed he is in those moments. Suddenly, he looks like one of the worst QB's...funny how when he can't be protected by the system and is forced to do more that he struggles the most, isn't It? As I've said...I'll gladly sit back and watch for what you and others clearly believe is going to happen. It would only make my football watching experience better if it turns out the way you guys think it will. I do have my thoughts and feelings though, and I will continue to put them out there...regardless of what other's think of it. It's as simple as this: I don't believe in the guy's abilities as a passer. I think it's just too much of a weakness for him to ever take this team where I would like to see them. You call this hate. I call it an opinion based off of what I've seen from him. It's posters like you that take such opinions personal and lash out and call it something else that make these back and forths uglier than they need be. Stick to the subject and leave the other garbage out of it and maybe you'll have a chance at being a poster worth discussing with.
  13. You've shown your true colors here...don't pretend that you conduct yourself in a respectful manner. All I did was call it how I see it. We are all entitled to our opinions and that's how I view you in regards to Taylor. You may be a fine poster outside of that, but I've seen enough from you to put forth my thoughts on the subject, just like you and others who want to label me...it's part of having an opinion and putting it out front. You keep doing you're thing, and I'll do mine. I'm rooting for you because in cases like this, I'd love to be wrong. This team's success means much more than me being right on the internet. I don't root against Bills players. The silly things that go through that brain of yours
  14. I have no problems with him getting another season...this should settle things once and for all in what I consider to be a throw away year since it's year one of a new regime.
  15. We all know why you disagree. You are delusional about Taylor and what he is as a player...simple as that.
  16. I should've known better than to even engage you...as pointless an exercise as can be. You want to say the sample size is not small, but then you'll cite one game over the course of last season...laughable stuff. If anything, this once again proves that it's not sustainable to think Taylor and Watkins can hook up on primarily deep balls consistantly over the course of a season to the tune of 100 catches, over 1,000 yards, and double digit TD's. Watkins needs to see more targets besides the high volume of deep shots if he and the offense is to take the passing game to the next level.
  17. Small sample size. The fact is that Tyrod was throwing up alot of deep balls that Watkins was making plays on during that stretch. It's not likely that he connects with Tyrod at that clip over the course of an entire season. We saw less success on deep throws last season...this may have been due to team's looking to take away one of Taylor's strengths. What needs to happen is that Taylor needs to utilize more of the field and throw some more routes in order to fully utilize not only Watkins, but the other weapons we have like Clay who is often ignored due to Taylor's inability to read the middle of the field. These are things many of us have been saying for quite some time, and in order for this offense to truly be successful...it's gonna take a better passing game...a more complex system that takes advantage of our strong run game and the other weapons we have that can catch the ball. Fix that, and this team can win games when they matter most.
  18. I agree with all of this, but I can't envision that production with the QB throwing to him. Sammy will never realize his true potential, and the Bills will never get the best of Sammy Watkins without a real passer at the helm.
  19. If you believe that Taylor is a true QB, then I have to wonder why you would ever attempt to insult anyone else's intelligence.
  20. This is what happens behind a dominant ground game and a simplified offense...it can make even a RB impersonating a QB seem competent.
  21. Wow! Transplant exposed bigtime on this one...
  22. I'm sure Watkins has been pissed that his QB can't get him the ball more and utilize him beyond simple sideline routes and deep balls. This guy will absolutely explode with a real passer throwing the football...it's a shame it will most likely be in another uniform.
  23. I could also see Sammy wanting to showcase his skills in a real passing offense with a great QB as well to up his stock. His injuries have had a negative impact as well, but a better QB gets more out of Watkins when he is on the field. It wouldn't surprise me if he's looking forward to free agency, and if that's the case...it makes sense to get ahead of it now and get what you can. Watkins leaving will sting as much as any player in recent memory...I had huge hopes, and l9ve his talent. I hope things turn out as good as they can for the team.
  24. You have to stay healthy to be good, and as of late...Watkins hasn't been healthy. Bottom line is he hasn't produced lately. We are at a point where we have to decide whether to pay a guy who has shown to not stay on the field, and we are also a run first team that doesn't have a QB who can truly utilize a player of Sammys ability. Getting another first round receiver on a rookie deal to grow with the next QB could work out much better than keeping Watkins at a high price while he underperforms due to the QB and possibly continues dealing with injuries (and the foot could be a long term problem). I am a huge Watkins fan, but there is a case to be made that moving on from him and getting a good return makes some sense...especially if you look at where this team is now.
  25. You will latch onto anything that could possibly excuse Taylor or paint him in the light you want everyone else to see him in.
