Bills' OC: Tyrod Taylor 'can't wait for a route to open up
Crusher replied to Meathead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lol. Wentz is light years beyond TT. The numbers didn't reflect it quite yet, but he's doing things in the huddle and in the game that TT will never be able to do. Just like Peyton put up a few bad season's statistically...Wentz is out there figuring out what he can and can't get away with. TT plays safe and easy football that looks good on the stat sheet, but doesn't get the results when it's needed. -
Bills' OC: Tyrod Taylor 'can't wait for a route to open up
Crusher replied to Meathead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reading comprehension, once again. I didn't say on the roster. I said any game managing type QB would likely replicate what TT did and would get us the same number of wins. Another post where you should apologize for saying I was dishonest, when you clearly made a mistake. I doubt you'll own up to it, though...just like the last time you made statements that weren't true about me and refused to acknowledge it. And you have the nerve to call my posting dishonest? What a joke -
Bills' OC: Tyrod Taylor 'can't wait for a route to open up

Not in the slightest. Dishonest is you saying things would have been ugly without TT. The truth is he wasn't a big factor in the wins this team had. I've gone through this, and the numbers just aren't impressive when you see what the defense accomplished in those wins. Now go and regurgitate the same tired 3 or 4 lines that you always use and pretend that they mean anything. -
Bills' OC: Tyrod Taylor 'can't wait for a route to open up

Chances are that any game manager type gets us exactly the same number of wins. Look at all seven, and you'll see the Bills gave up a mere 14ppg. You'll see that TT wasn't a huge factor in any of those wins...mediocre at best play. You give TT too much credit -

Why is there no uproar over the posters on the pro Tyrod side that do this? -

Not everyone thinks that what the Bills did showed a lack of belief in him, though. This is why the CoT became a thing -
Bills' OC: Tyrod Taylor 'can't wait for a route to open up

I have alot of respect for Taylor, and I think it's great that he's working as hard as he can to get better. With that said, I disagree with Dennison that it can be learned. Maybe if you were never asked to do it, but not something you have worked on and have never done well with. This is one of those you either have it or you don't things IMO, and TT just doesn't have these passing traits required to take his game to the next level. -
Anquan Boldin Signs 1 Year Deal with the Bills Pg45
Crusher replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just a pro's pro with sure fire hands and toughness. I think he sees lots of screen passes where he's more of a RB, along with red zone targets. -
I like the fire, but it's gonna take more than a meaningless drive in TC to make me a believer.
-
Let me ask you this: What do you think coaches for the last six years were working with him on? The chances of him developing this trait would mean that Dennison performs a miracle and uncovers something that leads to a breakthrough that Harbaugh and his super bowl winning staff couldn't, along with all the other coaching staffs and OC's. And FTR, Dennison has already worked with him, and TT still can't do what is a basic skill for a starting QB in the pro's. As long as TT has weaknesses like this in his passing game, we will continue to see the same struggles in the pass game, and team's daring him to be a QB. The late game struggles will also remain. This is really hard to hear from the OC, but not unexpected.
-
But the CoT says he already does. I'm so confused
-
Vick in his prime? Not even a question
-
The consensus is that there is none. I pray this discussion will be over after this season.
-
Many would disagree, but I digress...
-
Yes, you have to respect his deep ball...i will acknowledge that. As I said...he has talent that can sometimes trump a team's best. What you can do is try to make him have to lead a long drive and force him to make numerous throws which he has shown to struggle with...especially late in games. On another note: You seem much angrier towards me lately. What's up w/that? Don't let these things bother you, man. This place shouldn't be having that affect on anyone.
-
Physical talent can sometimes trump anything a defense can do. Make no mistake...the key to beating the Bills so long as TT is QB will be to make him beat you with his arm.
-
They do clamp down on him. They dare him to beat them with his arm and he almost never does. His physical talent allows him to make plays at times, but a consistent passer he is not.
-
I can't prove it, but the evidence strongly suggests that this is the case. Go back to his college days, and you'll see he has always had the same issues. He doesn't read the field well, anticipate receivers well, and rarely attempts throws to the middle third of the field. This and the comments made by Lynn all point to TT having struggles with some very fundamental things for a starting QB in the NFL. You can deny and make excuses till the cows come home, but this is what it more than likely is. Definitive proof coming soon to a stadium near you...
-
Easily explained. He played in a simplistic offense that only required easy throws to open guys...mostly outside the hashes with the occasional deep ball mixed in. Roman and Lynn knew his weaknesses and masked them by not having him have to make those throws...that's why we have the low attempts to certain areas of the field. Taylor's numbers have always been a product of an offense that was built on a dominant run game with low attempts that are simple and generally routine in nature. Other QB's have put up lesser numbers, but they are asked to do more within their offense. Glad I could clear that up for ya

Give those posters a break...this is the only place they can pretend to matter, Ok? I usually try to amuse myself with their delusion...it works well most of the time. -

Running ability he used as a crutch for his passing deficiencies. Why did this catch my attention? -
Does TT command and orchestrate the offense? Does TT audible out of plays when he sees something favorable? Does TT stay in the pocket and routinely wait for receivers to come open? Does TT make multiple reads? Does TT throw with anticipation? Does TT use the entire field? It sure seems to me like he doesn't check many of these boxes...at least often enough to make me think he's more of a passer that can run over a runner who can pass at times. It is what it is, and I'm certainly not shying away from my statement.

Keep up the crusade, Transplant. You continually prove myself and others who have called your motives into question right over and over again. You will never let a Tyrod thread die until you have the last word so you can pretend you are right. Talk about nauseating... Thanks for clearing that up, chief. The message board police is currently reviewing your credentials and will contact you shortly...
